   As per the comment, disable the 'Enable Content Aware Defaults' in Preferences > General to turn crop suggestions off

   Hi Amita,

   This is not a file issue because it happens with all files i'm using in Illustrator.

   Sometimes this happens with a new file I’ve just created.
   I notice the same issue in Illustrator CC 2026 and illustrator beta.
   I’ve been waiting for answers on this matter for months, but no one has replied to offer any suggestions.

   So I’ll ask again: what could be causing this problem?

   This issue also exists in official release Illustrator CC 2025 (29.7.1 ) when will be the fix available for the official version and not only for Beta ?

   I'm totally agrea, the user must be informed from the start that brush strokes cannot be used in pattern edit mode.
   Without a warning it sounds like a bug when you realize after that strokes are expended whereas it 's a restriction of the application.

    There are many bugs on dynamic symbols. I really hope that there will be fixed in a future version of Illustrator, as this feature is very interesting in the fashion industry to create colorways linked to the original design.
