PARM Error after switching from Illustrator CC2023 to Illustrator CC2025
ILLUSTRATOR PARM ERROR MESSAGE
Hello everyone,
I am trying to resolve a PARM issue that users have been facing since migrating from CC 2023 (27.9) to CC 2025 (29.8.2).
System: macOS 15.6.1
Apple M1 Max
64 GB
The error message appears on many files, significantly slowing down file editing and making Illustrator extremely slow.
The only solution I have found is to reset the Illustrator preferences. This solution temporarily fixes the issue, but then it switches back.
When this happens (regularly), Illustrator becomes impossible to use.
I am looking for information on this issue. Is it a hardware issue, RAM, graphics card, or potential file corruption?
At this stage, I have not yet collected any files from users who did not think to make a copy of the affected files. I only have screenshots.
Any ideas on how to solve this issue would be welcome.
Thanks for your help !

Hi Amita,
This is not a file issue because it happens with all files i'm using in Illustrator.
Sometimes this happens with a new file I’ve just created.
I notice the same issue in Illustrator CC 2026 and illustrator beta.
I’ve been waiting for answers on this matter for months, but no one has replied to offer any suggestions. So I’ll ask again: what could be causing this problem?

Hi Daté TETEGAN,
Could you please share an affected file where this issue occurs?
If sharing the file is not possible, could you provide detailed steps to reproduce the issue? This will help us investigate and attempt to reproduce the problem on our end, which will accelerate the analysis and resolution.

Daté, based on these screenshots I believe this happens when users try to scale or move images (only images or included in a selection).
Is my guess correct?
There is an existing report about this particular kind of PARM error — does it look the same one to you?
