An error occurred while saving the comment Mark R commentedImage Trace creates unusual artifacts when tracing even somewhat complex lineart. The tracing is also always shifted from the original position. This never used to happen using Live Trace, it almost always worked perfectly. I've tried several different settings multiple times, the results are never as good as they used to be in Live Trace. I had to install Illustrator CS4 today just to use Live Trace because the Image Trace results on the latest Illustrator were too messy.

Adobe Illustrator's Multithreading Journey Begins!
Dear Illustrator Community,
I'm thrilled to announce that we've embarked on an exciting journey to bring multithreading capabilities to Adobe Illustrator. This significant undertaking will enhance performance and responsiveness across various aspects of the application.
While this is a complex process that will take some time to fully implement, I wanted to share our progress so far.
Our Approach
We've strategically begun by focusing on the most computationally intensive operations—those that typically take more time and block the main thread, resulting in slower response times while you work. By moving these operations to separate threads, we aim to significantly improve your overall experience with Illustrator.
It's important to note that you may see more noticeable impact in some areas than others initially. However, we want to assure you that this is just the beginning, and we will continue this journey to bring improvements across…

This wasn't caught in the latest beta Illustrator CC 2019 update, so best bet, for now, is exporting PDFs without image resampling and do all your resampling in Photoshop. Luckily this bug isn't present in Indesign, that would be a nightmare. Hope some more people notice it, then it may actually get fixed. A couple other bugs regarding monochrome bitmaps were fixed in the latest beta, I recommend installing it if you work with bitmap line-art.
