The latest Beta 28.8.0.37 now has this function back.
You can enable the mode using a button in Control Panel or in Properties, with the Artboard tool picked.
The option automatically enables Scale Strokes & Effects option temporarily.
As always, you can hold Shift to resize proportionally.
Please test it and comment back!

An error occurred while saving the comment sabrina commentedNeed to visually compare artwork between files that have multiple artboards. It would be great if it had an option to show the file name or artboard name associated with each. PS Contact Sheet II works pretty well, but all the files have to first be placed in one location together. That doesn't work for my purposes.

An error occurred while saving the comment sabrina commentedSame thing happening here. Reverted back to 25.4.5 for now because that version has been the most stable for me for a while now.

Hi Everyone,
This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1.
Hex code for the colors is visible in the Color and Swatch Option Panel. It will be visible for Global Colors as well. You can easily copy the Hex value by clicking on '#' icon before the code.

Thank you for all the feedback.

Hi Guillermina,
File > Export > Export As provides an option to create unique class names and IDs to avoid clashes when merging different SVG files into one document. In the SVG options panel select “Unique” under “Object IDs”.
Does this address your issue?

Just a general status update. We are currently and will continuously improve SVG import support in Adobe Illustrator. We are currently working on solving the issues mentioned in this report. Please feel free to open new bug reports here on uservoice if you are experiencing additional/untracked issues.

The workaround for this is to update to the latest build, 25.3.1, which doesn't contain Bridge related changes for Mac ARM — that's why this error is happening.
If you still have the issue, please comment back.
An error occurred while saving the comment sabrina commentedSimilar issue with AI 25.4.2 on my new M1 MacBook Pro. Even when I run the Intel version, any scripts that involve a UI palette I scripted won't work. No error message, the palette opens as usual but none of the buttons function.
We have .svg files with conflicting styles on our web pages because of the inability to predict class names. At a minimum, we should be able to choose the naming convention Adobe will use at export. So perhaps we can choose "cls" or "st" or enter our own syntax. So even if we cannot control which elements get the exact name, we can avoid conflicting with other files on the same web page.
