I request this program to be brought to 2021 rather than leaving it in the 90s. I hate using this program. It SUCKS
Bring illustrator to a current user format. It is stuck in the 90s. I HATE using it. I use photoshop, AE, etc. All great. Illustrator SUCKS. Can I say that loud enough.....

Create an Ungroup ALL feature on layer(s).
It would extremely useful being able to select the artwork on the layer and clicking an ungroup all option This would speed up prepress production especially when there are multiple grouped objects on a layer.

Make Overprints show in the Presentation mode
Overprints do not show in Presentation mode, both overprint attributes and Pathfinder trapping. See attached image shots.

Vector Importing for Library Assets
I would like the option to be able to import vector CC Library Assets as live vectors (rather than as a link) in Illustrator.
This is a vector editing software.....and the asset I'm grabbing from the library to bring in as a vector asset (and probably originally built in Illustrator).....why can't I have an alternate means (ex. Shift+Drag for import = import as live vector art) to be able to bring the asset in as an editable piece of art?
1 voteYou can right-click on the asset you want to place as live vector and choose ‘Place Copy’ command to do that.

Object or Group of Object Component
This feature was actually on Adobe XD, where created objects like icons can be made as components, basically users can use a component multiple times, duplicating, copy and pasting to multiple artboards, but can be edited just once and then all the component link will update automatically without updating each object individually.

Export Layers by name as SVG
As I am creating graphics for an video, I wanted to export the layers by name and import it to other software.

Option to auto-sharp an anchor point when using the pen tool.
By default when making a anchor point with the pen tool it gives you a curve anchor(2 direction handles). I request that we have the option to make it a sharp anchor(1 direction handle).
Currently in order to make a sharp anchor you have to go back and select the anchor again. This is a slow method if you only draw in sharp anchors. By having this new option it will be lot faster and easier to draw in this style.
3 votesYou can do that by holding Alt right after you click the first point with the Pen tool and releasing it after you finish dragging the handle out. This creates legitimate corner point with one hadle.

Allow to download older versions of Illustrator than CCD now allows
Hello, I used to use Illustrator CC 2018 on my work computer. It was having trouble opening AI and PDF files. I uninstalled the program and now I can't even install it back on the computer due to the program no longer being supported for download. 2018 was only 2 years ago. This is a huge problem for your users. Maybe have some kind of warning or do the right thing and offer support for programs older than 2 years.

Save a Copy from Adobe Cloud Document.
I've noticed that when you use the new Save to Cloud Documents feature (which is very nice and convenient) the option to Save a Copy is disabled.
I'm working on a manual to be viewed as a PDF on mobile devices, so I have to constantly save a PDF copy of my .aic document in order to send it to myself via WhatsApp (which is the target) and review it.
Not having the Save a Copy option is quite inconvenient. Could you guys enable it?

Set default artboard name as file name
Is it possible to have a setting in preferences to set the default artboard name as the file name?
Generally I name all my artboards the "file nameCMYK" or "FilenamePantone" for exporting later and it's just a tedious extra step to have to go in and name EVERY artboard what I've already named the file instead of just tacking on a delineation.

integrate settings between Rosetta based release version and beta/prerelease
I need to switch between rosetta illustrator (for Astute Graphics plugins) and the beta native version.
Is it possible for them to share settings, or alternatively, would that be a workable feature?

Bring back opt-enter in move dialog
Select art with selection tool, hit enter for move dialog, type in parameters and hit option-enter to duplicate. You removed this feature what feels like a decade ago. Put it back in. btw-I have used illustrator professionally since Illustrator 88.

Make the artboard center mark smart guide aware for shape reference points
I should be able to drag the rotation reference point to the center mark of an artboard and that process be simple but it's never accurate enough. A simple fix might be to make smart guides / shape reference points aware of one another so that I can drag / Alt-click near enough to it and Illustrator recognizes where I want the reference point to be set to.

Automatically make gradients by just selecting two or more colors
Create a default gradient of two or more colors just by selecting them on the artwork or on the swatches panel without having to copy and paste the color codes separately.

To use this functionality, simply select colors from your swatches panel and click on 'create gradient' in the swatch panel options.

Full Unicode Support and Unicode Hexadecimal Input Support with the Alt key
Please add full Unicode support to Adobe Illustrator. I understand many Unicode characters are not supported by different fonts but it would be great if there was support for Unicode characters such as angle brackets, ⟨a, b⟩ that are supported by certain fonts that incorporate a wide range of Unicode characters. For example, the Noto font family supports over 64,000 Unicode characters. It would also streamline the workflow if there was a way in Illustrator to enter Unicode characters using the Alt key (in Microsoft Word, if you type the hexadecimal code of a Unicode character, then press Alt+X, it…

Copy in shift-command-m
In shift-command-m, Move, you had the option of copying by hitting option-enter on the keyboard. You took away that option a few years ago and this is slowing me down.

Allow Symbol Instances to update during master symbol editing
When making patterns or complex design based on instanced symbols it's vital to see how the seams between repeated symbols update. It would be good to see all instances (in view) update as you're editing a "master", and for the alignment tools to take the other instances into account so you can make pieces align with each other across a grid. Today the instances will only update AFTER you're done editing and it makes for a lot of going back and forth.

A new tool that copies exactly the color that's seen by the user on the screen through transparent objects
Currently, when I like a certain color that's formed through the combination of 2 or more transparent objects (or objects with blend modes applied), I can't copy that exact color. The eye-dropper tool simply copies the color from the topmost object. I often find myself taking a snap of the display and then paste that image within illustrator and copying the color I want from that image.
Request: I'd like a tool, similar to the eye-dropper, but instead, it picks the RESULTANT color(s) that is displayed through transparent objects or even objects with BLEND-MODES applied to them.

If you roll the mouse wheel over a property, count it as one "Undo"
I love rolling the mouse wheel on properties to make changes and see them in real time, but I always think twice before doing it because I know that Undoing it will be a massive pain. Please count mouse rolls as just one Undo/Redo.
