  1. Show Contentpreview in hidden layers

    When you hide a layer, the contentpreview in the little square in the Layers Panel is hidden. Finding a specific layer is terrible when it’s hidden (you only see the layers name).

    That makes absolutely no sense to me and has no benefit that I can think of, to the contrary.

    Please make it at least an option, or just make the Layerpreview always visible. I can see that it’s hidden when I see the eye canceled on the right, no need for more indication that its hidden.

  2. An ability to size and line space text based on a capital curved letter "C", "O" or "S"

    I create a lot of graphics for signage using Illustrator and most depend on actual sizing and spacing of the text. If I put 12" letters and convert to outlines the text is is really 25% smaller. So I either have to outline the text and lose editability or I have to eyeball a clipping mask to the curve letter and resize the clipping mask to the correct size.

  3. Make keyboard shortcuts work for different input languages

    I'd love to see an update that lets me use the same physical keys for shortcuts while I have a different keyboard than English selected.

    For example, the backslash key () is used for the line tool. But when switching to German, the same physical key returns (#) and in Romanian we have a (â).

    I wish that all shortcuts activated by the press of the physical keys work as intended in the interface regardless of the language currently active so I don't have to switch so much between languages just to have my shortcuts work again.

  4. The Ability to paste an object precisely where we want it to be in the layers panel

    This feature, in particular, will be very time-saving cos I often find myself dragging the pasted object a good distance in the layers panel so that it is where I exactly want it to be.

    Currently pasting works such that when we try to paste an object, it gets pasted at the very top of the highlighted/targetted layer. We know that Illustrator already differentiates between "targetting" and "selecting" an object or layer, so that's great. But I'd like to make use of that so as to be more productive and save a lot of time for myself.

  5. Allow to change color & width of border / edges for artboards (all and active)

    Sometimes when I am using black colour I cant see properly my artboard size so I have work with the guides instead of using the change artboard colour option so it gets annoying. If there were an artboard frame colour option it would be easier to compare my design w.r.t. the artboard

    We finally got the control over the active artboard border color.

    In Beta 30.1.0.89, in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display, in the new Artboard Display section, we now can choose the color and the border width in pixels — black, 1 px by default, as usual. We can set it 4 px maximum

    The border tries to get aligned by center, but stays pixel-perfect, so choosing 3 is safe. Color choices are the same as we get with layers’ colors, with a custom option as well.

    There’s no way to tweak inactive artboards’ borders. Please comment if this solution is working for you and if there’s anything you need to have it perfect.

  6. Allow scroll to zoom in the navigation area

    I have zoom to scroll turned on in the settings but we can't zoom to scroll in the navigation area just the main window. Can you please fix this? Allowing people to choose which way they scroll to zoom in or out would also be nice for accessibility.

  7. Save Color Profiles by Default

    By default, the color profiles I assign to the file should be saved.

    There have been several times I have assigned a color profile to my Illustrator file, saved it as a PDF, and the printed PDF were the wrong colors because Illustrator didn't include the assigned profile. I then had to reopen my file, manually tell Illustrator to include all color profiles when saving, and then reprint.

    It is ridiculous that the file doesn't save assigned profiles by default.

  9. Transform Coordinates - "Copy" and "Paste" buttons with specific order

    We need the possibility of copying the X/Y/Angle/W/H/Shear parameters when selecting a Source shape and paste them in the Transform panel when selecting the Destination shape.
    I recommend always angle is first when pasting, before X/Y/W/H/Shear.
    It is quite strange that since all of these CC iterations, this has never been covered. It is quite awqward to introduce numbers and many decimals by hand and not having a possibility to do it quickly.

  10. Allow me to change filename and file size dimensions with "Export as..." option

    I can no longer save my file with it's filename when exporting an artboard for client review. I would like to be able to have control over the naming of the file and the dimensions I export to (especially when building out billboard art files). If there was an option that showed file size and dimensions like in the previous "Save to Web" that would be optimal

  12. We need Watermark Panel

    I have suffered several times from clients who have steals my work and doesn’t pay the remaining 50% of the contract because it is a tedious job to make changes to a design and add, each time I need to export the artboard a watermark.

    It would be great to have a panel or a checkbox to apply a watermark to the entire artboard and that way we defend ourselves against bad clients easier.

    And if we can add our custom watermark, much better.

  13. Right align Export destination folder path text on Export for Screens window

    My suggestion is to have the 'folder path' text be right aligned in the text box, to have the export destination be more accessible, instead of the root folders.

    Currently, I have to click into the folder path text box, then click + drag to see where my file will export to. This is cumbersome and unnecessary.

  14. Illustrator 2021 is constantly crashing, resulting in my not being able to use it.

    stop it from crashing. Whatever you did with the 2021 version, reverse it. It's worse than useless. I cannot get any production.

  15. presets for pen pressure

    hi
    as we have in photoshop a lot of presets, i would love it if you can make presets options on illustrator for tools with pen pressure/tilt etc.
    like in blob brush tool options (and maybe to save my own presets as well)

  16. Make "Increase Diameter" and "Decrease Diameter" hotkeys work for Warp / Bloat / Wrinkle and other tools

    Other tools (eg. 'Blob Brush Tool', Blob Brush Erasor Tool', etc.) take the default shortcuts for scale up and down. On my setup that's ] for increase size and [ for decrease size. Multiple tools share those keys, and that's great.

    The Warp tool doesn't do this - you have to manually go into the tool preferences to change the scale. This breaks flow and wastes time.

    The Warp Tool is a nice idea. It would be a very good tool - if it was fully implimented.

  17. Always show all options for all panels

    The fact that we now have to click a button to show optional items for the Character panel in Illustrator hinders my workflow. It would be nice if we could make the options visible be default (always have them shown). For anyone creating logos or working with type, this is an absolute must!

  18. Pan and zoom on multiple artboard at once

    Hi,

    I am wondering if there is a way to locate and zoom all open windows at the same time in illustrator. Like in compare window in Lightroom. When you zoom and pan over the image, it helps you compare and spot the difference. I am in packaging and sometimes i am using the same diecut and artwork, but different product. i would love to pan and zoom over the artworks on multiple windows to compare and spot the difference.

  19. create outline for fonts cause missing font

    when I use numbers in text and I want to convert outline the font becomes missing or disappear
    in illustrator 2018 does not have this problem while in illustrator 25.0.1 have this problem

  20. Keyboard shortcut to invoke the search box under the Help menu

    I swear there used to be a keyboard shortcut to do this. Given the relative complexity of Illustrator, I rely on search to locate less frequently performed actions. I currently navigate by mouse up to the Help menu (which automatically gives the Search field focus), where I type in the first few characters of the action I wish to perform (results are refined as I type in more characters); this way, I can simply select the action I want right from the Help menu. It would be great if I could forego the mouse entirely and invoke that Help menu…
