  1. Keyboard Shortcut key / hotkey to open the Color Picker

    I wish Illustrator could set up a shortcut key to open the Color Picker window like in Photoshop.

  2. Make Smooth command to have the persist/sticky option

    I like the new Smooth command and I'm using it frequently enough that it would be nice to have a persist/sticky option for it instead of repeatedly going back to the Object menu.

    Also, I find that smoothing of 20% works well for a lot of shapes I'm editing but could the bar be enhanced with a few click-to bars to speed up this process (see attached). Maybe include this for the Simplify command as well.

  3. Allow to change the order of appearance attributes for TEXT and set the stroke below the fill in Appearance panel

    When I try to move the "stroke" row in appearance panel to move below the "fill" row, the row returns to previous position on top.
    This is happening to me since the - I think - 11 version of Illustrator.
    Now I have version 27.1.1 and windows 11 pro. Nothing changed.

  4. Please allow image tracing of individual colours to individual layers rather than 16 million objects.

    Being able to trace one colour to one layer would make laser cutting so much easier. e.g. 16 colours to 16 layers

  5. Increase the precision of illustrator to at least 10 decimal points, fix Place...

    Please increase the precision of Illustrator for placing files such as .dwg from other programs. I noticed the shapes change a lot. Or, change the initial size of the placed file to as large as the artboard. I know you have this option when you drag and drop a file, but you do not have this option when you select File-Place...

  6. Remove all references to websafe palette

    The websafe colour palette has not been relevant for over two decades. You might as well support Macintosh bitmap fots if you’re going to include support for the websafe palette.

  7. Drag-and-drop Glyphs to Symbols

    Sort of niche QoL, but it could be great to be able to drag glyphs from the Glyphs panel onto the Symbols panel to create a new symbol automatically. The resulting symbol size could be a ratio based on a preset height or width, set as a preference or panel option, or entered at creation via. a modal.

  10. Rename embedded image

    I want an ability to rename an embedded image.
    Perhaps I don’t like the nonsense somebody else used to name it before embedding.
    Or I just want to give it a name in Links, to be able to distinguish them better (and no, renaming an item in Layers does not do that).

  11. Find / Replace font... to include adjusting font and text size

    I would like to see a capability added to the find/replace font... feature to include finding and replacing text sizes throughout a document. I make a lot of repetitive text throughout many artboards and sometimes I have to adjust the text size of a particular font. In addition I sometimes have mixed fonts in a textbox and have to adjust the size of one or a few of them separately without changing the size of the other fonts. That would be a super time-saving feature too.

  12. DXF format support

    Can u add DXF format support, to directly open in Illustrator. Now i open DXF in Corel and save to PDF and then open in Illustrator for working. I am into apparel/fashion field. Garment patterns are important to be opened in actual size so we add prints and other embellishments to actual and see.

  15. Batch convert to AI format

    I would appreciate a way to batch convert multiple vector files (eps, svg, etc.) to .ai format.
    I get a lot of eps files, and I would like to convert them to Illustrator files all at once without having to open them individually and saving them one at a time. I thought this used to be possible in Bridge, but I can't find anyone else who remembers this.

  16. Auto synchronised text boxes for copy

    Have two or more separate text boxes synchronise to the same text when either one is edited.

    When creating numerous different sized online banner advertisements, each with multiple copy variations, it would be beneficial if I could synchronise the copy of one across all creative versions.

  18. Can't undo Auto bullets

    If I undo the bullets (which came automatic after space bar) the letter disappear.

    For example: I can't use (-) at front of text with 1 spacebar.

  19. Change the cursor for Artboard Tool when a click is going to create a new object-sized artboard

    When using Artboard Tool, you can do several things with a simple click.
    1. Select an artboard under the cursor
    2. Deselect an artboard if there is no artboards under the cursor
    3. Create an artboard which size is the same as the object you click — but ONLY if the object is inside of the already selected artboard OR if the place you click is not inside of any artboard.

    This #3 case prevents deselecting artboards efficiently in cases when you don’t have 'naked canvas' inside of the viewport. And clicking is the only way to deselect artboards, since…

  20. Close panel by a middle-click on its header

    Middle-click today is a common gesture.
    In browsers and file managers with tabs it allows to close a current tab.
    There is a feature request to allows us to close tabs in Ai as well: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/38150188-add-middle-click-to-close-document

    But I would also like to be able to close panel with a middle-click. Not collapse — this is what a left-click does — but just close the panel.
