1. SLOW

   Running a BRAND NEW iMac Pro purchased this week. Almost $10k.
   Even the simplest things like scrolling the workspace causes a lag.
   This is insanely ridiculous that Adobe has not made their software to make use of new hardware. I read the comment below, where your support team said this is not a generic issue that can be replicated. From googling this issue, it has been a problem for over 2 years on all new machines. That is the definition of generic if it is happening to everyone. It happens on all applications that I use, PS, and LR. From what I have read people are jumping ship from Adobe left right and centre. If there is a fix for this please help because it is not the machine it is the software.

2. Feature to remove white background seamlessly

   I think this should be a basic option, to remove white bg seamlessly. or any colored background. There are lot of basic apps that does that, why a sophisticated software like this doesnt have that option?

3. Sort out functionality of library assets

   Seems a lot of people are struggling with Library assets for various reasons. I think this feature is massively under developed for what should be a great strength across Adobe applications. I still have Illustrator V17 in use as the Library works better than the current version for me, so my subscription is wasted money. I've complained before but to no avail. I create many line drawings with common line segments, so I drag these in from the Library, which creates consistency and should be time saving. Currently each one option-dragged no longer remembers the layer it came from and is a group, so you can't join 2 library items with a new path unless they are ungrouped! Come on developers - help us all out!

5. Batch import of .ase files directly to the swatches palette

   For example, if I have a dozen .ase files from different colleges, opening them one by one and adding them to my swatches takes time. I'd rather put them into a folder and have Illustrator import them all. Having them import as Color Groups should be kept.
   I'd like to be able to do this.
   Swatches > Open Swatch Library > Other Library > [folder name]
   Every .ase file in that folder should open up/be imported in my swatches palette. Bam! I'm done!

6. An ability to mark some layers to get rasterized when exporting PDF

   It will be great if we can choose some layers to be auto rasterized when exporting to pdf. I keep very complex paterns in a different layer and always need to manually rasterize it to get a light pdf and error free on Rip software.

7. Allow Batch Actions to work on all open files

   Batch Actions can work on a folder of files but not all open files. Photoshop can do this, why not Illustrator?

8. The new behavior of art being clipped when it goes over the artboard bounding edge an option to turn on or off in preferences

   The clipped art over an artboard edge should be an option to turn on and off. Some users do not want this behavior all the time and if it were a preference, the user can control when it should get clipped.

10. Thumbnail preview required when selecting an object from multiple objects overlapping each other in illustrator

    I am having a trouble when selecting an object from multiple objects. I think, there should have some thumbnail and object preview option when we right the objects and try to select any object. I attached the image see the red arrow mentioned text.

11. We need, again, Custom Bevels in 3D-Extrude & Bevel, please!

    Illustrator used to have the ability to create customer Bevel profiles ( in the Bevels.ai file in /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator 23/en_US/Symbols ). HOWEVER, the feature is now gone! Please give us the option to create custom Bevels, again! Thank you.

    Last year, 2018, I created a object and gave it a 3D custom bevel, and now I can do nothing with that object. Whenever I try to do something with it Illustrator crashes. I couldn't figure out what was going on until I tried creating a custom Bevel again. There is no way to create a custom Bevel! When I open the "Bevels.ai" file from last year, I can see the custom Bevel profile I created in the Symbols panel, but it's nowhere to be found in the Effect-3D Bevels list.

13. Scale Stroke & Effects Hotkey

    Shortcut key and checkbox on UI to scale strokes with objects, etc. so you can choose if you want them to size or not, without having to uncheck the option box in Preferences.

14. Remove the default 72 PPI resolution

    There is NO device on Earth (except in museums) that have 72 PPI screen.
    However, EVERY new screen-intended document created today in Illustrator and Photoshop STILL made with only 72 PPI by default.

    With this laughable resolution, all raster effects are rendered, looking just bad on any screen.

    Since 72 PPI is the actual World Standard, it confuses many Adobe users and it has to be changed for good.

    Today's computer screens have at the very least 120 PPI, but the phones for which many projects are created have a way higher pixel density of 450 PPI and more. The 72 thing is irrelevant for years.

    This is really embarrassing to see beautiful clean vector artwork being rasterized with such low a resolution, and this is annoying to change it manually for each and every screen document.

    Please, correct this, pick an appropriate contemporary default, make it the New World Standard.

15. More exporting options, without disgusting failures, even mini files in size cannot be saved at more than 300 PPI , irrespective sys config.

    Please try to limit error messages first, as it is very disgusting, then with high end systems in hand, illustrator commonly fails at exporting, even the tiny sized files not being exported with high resolutions i.e., more than 300 PPI specified as "other"

16. Missing languages from character panel for automation

    I need to automate the language parameter from the Character panel on Illustrator. It is already available for most languages but it looks like the recent languages that have been added in Illustrator are not available for automation. We need to set this up to have the correct hyphenation in the text frames. For example, if we activate the hyphenation for illustrator files that contains Thai strings, it won’t hyphenate the strings correctly until we set the language.

    The list available for automation can be found from the Illustrator scripting library on macOS (it contains everything we can use for automation with Illustrator).

    You can find it if you follow these steps:
    1/ Open Script Editor (installed by default on your Mac)
    2/ CMD+SHIFT+L to open the Library
    3/ Click on the + button and add Adobe Illustrator 2019 app (/Applications/Adobe\ Illustrator\ CC\ 2019/Adobe\ Illustrator.app/)
    4/ Double click Adobe Illustrator 2019 to open the library
    5/ Search for the language parameter in the library
    6/ It will show the list available for automation (that is different from the list in the UI on Illustrator)

    For example Thai, or Hebrew are missing for automation.

    This is no a problem UserVoice forums can help to solve, unfortunately, for many reasons.

    You have to contact support to deal with it, if this is still a case.

20. Allow to change color & width of border / edges for artboards (all and active)

    Sometimes when I am using black colour I cant see properly my artboard size so I have work with the guides instead of using the change artboard colour option so it gets annoying. If there were an artboard frame colour option it would be easier to compare my design w.r.t. the artboard

    We finally got the control over the active artboard border color.

    In Beta 30.1.0.89, in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display, in the new Artboard Display section, we now can choose the color and the border width in pixels — black, 1 px by default, as usual. We can set it 4 px maximum

    The border tries to get aligned by center, but stays pixel-perfect, so choosing 3 is safe. Color choices are the same as we get with layers’ colors, with a custom option as well.

    There’s no way to tweak inactive artboards’ borders. Please comment if this solution is working for you and if there’s anything you need to have it perfect.
