  1. Have a 'lock' icon for locked links in Links, and allow to unlock them with a click o the icon

    Add a 'locked' icon in Links and have the layer number visible on hover, and clicking it would make to unlock this link

  2. Ability to convert Freeform Mesh to Gradient Mesh

    The ability to convert a freeform mesh to a gradient mesh is sorely needed. I love creating a gradient with Freefrom Mesh, it's a lot more user friendly but it is a lot more heave on the system, especially when you start having multiple objects. The ability to convert a Freeform Mesh to a Gradient Mesh should be a standard feature. Analysing the colours as it does from an image but creating a more contoured mesh as it does by default with a vector.

  3. 「別名で保存」時にファイル名が選択された状態にしてください

    macOS Monterey(12.0.1) / Illustlator 2022, Photoshop 2022
    にアップグレードしたところ「別名で保存」時にファイル名が選択された状態になっていないので都度カーソルでファイル名を選択しなければならなくなりました。
    以前のバージョンのように選択された状態ですぐ入力できるよう修正にしてほしいです。

  4. Convert gradient properly on SVG instead of rasterizing when saving file as SVG Tiny 1.2

    Currently, when you try to save an SVG containing gradients with SVG 1.2 Tiny profile, Illustrator rasterizes the gradient and embeds the rasterized image instead of properly converting it as a pure vector information. This reduces the qualify of the saved image a lot and it's no longer scalable with even further quality reduction.

    SVG 1.2 Tiny specification supports gradients and so it would be really helpful if Illustrator kept the vector information from gradient. This is also necessary for BIMI logos (https://bimigroup.org/) as it doesn't support images/links in the SVG.

  5. Save frequent missing fonts selection for future files

    I would love to be able to save or automatically apply missing font replacements.

    Scenario: Adobe is dropping support for Type 1 fonts. Thousands of my Illustrator files contain a Type 1 font family. To head things off, I was able to obtain the required newer font format for the font family, but it is now seen as a new font by Illustrator (fair enough). But, now when I open up each file I have to painstakingly replace the old fonts with the new ones. Again, this applies to thousands of files and massively slows my process down.

  7. Document unit preferences saved within AI file (type, dimensions, outline).

    When working simulteaneously on artworks for web & print - you have to switch now units each time switching documents.
    Often when preparing artwork for different outputs/purposes.
    Usually/often (always?) unit preferences are DOCUMENT SPECIFIC.

  10. Scissors tool should be aware of stroke width profiles and brush tool data.

    At present, if you use the Scissors tool on a path with a width profile, the resulting paths will both inherit the entire width profile. This always feels wrong; I would much prefer that the resulting paths had new width profiles that match the original look of the path.

  11. Would it be possible to have the find font panel be in alphabetical order, like Indesign is?

    alphabetical order of fonts in the find font list, would make comparing the fonts used to an outside folder of fonts much easier.

  12. Type on path with multiple lines

    We need to extend Type on Path to allow it to be multiline.
    The picture does explain it well enough.
    Instead of manual offsetting lines (I used AG Offset tool to make a lot of them at once) and making threads, we should be able to just tick an option and get a LIVE result.

  13. Option to replace RGB sliders with HSB everywhere - all swatches and all color pickers.

    We need ability to universally use HSB instead of RBG. I want the ability to fully replace RGB input and sliders with HSB everywhere in AI. I never want to look at RGB sliders ever again.
    This request is all over the forum in different phrasings/forms but unfortunately that has divided the votes leading to lower ranking.

    There is a similar report, now marked as fixed, but users say it’s not:

  14. "Align Artboards to nearest pixel" or "Rearrange selected artboards" to avoid extra pixel on export.

    Similar to "Rearrange All artboards" except I don't want them rearranged, I just want them to snap to the nearest whole pixel to avoid the extra pixel when exporting raster assets.

    "Rearrange selected artboards only"

    I frequently set up documents with with dozens of artboards of various sizes organized and positionally grouped in specific ways. Currently I need to manually set x and y pixel coordinates for each artboard because "rearrange all" destroys the iterative structure of my document.

Also, Illustrator will be able to increase its target customers. I have been using illustrator to create floor plans of building with much ease and lesser time than other software. This software has user friendly interface. So, please make it more suitable for technical drawings. Adding features to calculate area will also be very useful.

  16. Make dimming of a template layer work also for vector images, not only rasters

    If I make a new template in the layers panel and try to dim images to a lower opacity — it remains at the same opacity.

  17. Customizable splash screen

    Adobe marketing team decides what to display as splash screens. Sometimes the choice is great, and sometimes is not, much more often, to some of us.

    And since the Illustrator splash screen is what we see often, and it obviously influence our thought and mood, we’d like to have options to customize it.

    We can access the image ourselves, all of them are stored along with other version for different resolution screens at
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 2022\Support Files\Contents\Windows\aiccsplash.png (on Windows)
    and packed in the application in Contents\Resources\ (on Macs),
    but this feels like a hack.

  18. Auto opening a layered illustrator file in photoshop as layered smart objects.

    I create my original illustration files in vector format and in layers in Adobe Illustrator. I then copy each layer to its own artboard and save off an Ai file with the multiple layers converted to artboards, I then manually place these artboards as individual linked smart layers in Photoshop to ensure a non-destructive and combined Vector/Bitmap workflow/solution between Ai and PS.

    This is a LOT of manual work each time, Photoshop SHOULD be able to open a simple and layered Illustrator file automatically like this in this non-destructive manner.

  19. An image or shape splitter that randomly generates splits in an image based upon user-set ranges

    Currently, mosaics are somewhat difficult to make (I am new so I don't know everything, therefore I have some issues with this) I am looking for a function that allows the splitting of images, shapes, or shape groups, through a menu that you place ranges upon (i.e. amount of resulting shapes, how many sides per shape as a range between two numbers, etc.)

    The ability to select shapes in an image by area and color to then split them randomly while still keeping original outline form would be also appreciated, along with averaging color values if you choose to split…
