   I have hundreds of ideas, I have been working with Illustrator every day since version 1, like 10 hours on most days but you never implement my ideas.

   Here are three more.

   Include an option to render lines around the artboards or not, currently I have to go over my complete layout and trace every artboard becouse they don't render and leave my artwork borderless.

   When I save for web but hit enter to soon a dialogue box opens up under the web preview and I am unable to close the window without force the program to restart.

   Often when I am coloring shapes it wants to connect to other lines. I would like a feature where you could toggle connect to other paths on or off. (now that I think about it, there might be something for this already, I just can't find it.)

   Every time I put jpgs into my illustrator file I have to select each one and choose embed or else I lose the artwork when I send or reopen, If I could choose always embed that would save me a TON of time and hassle.

   There are more but I feel like I am shouting into a void of no return here...

   Oh well.

2. Break apart blocks of text into separate text objects: by lines, words, characters, outlines

   As done in Flash, I need to be able to paste in a block of text and "break apart" the single text object to several separate text objects. Ideally each time I click break apart, the action will break the text down further: by lines, then words, then characters, then to outlines. This action should be assigned a shortcut to quickly cut up text that has been pasted in from outside Illustrator.

   I spend a lot of time pasting in label text for infographics and diagrams, and then cutting and pasting repeatedly to separate the labels out for positioning.

3. Previous/Next Artboard hotkeys should be able to keep zoom

   Right now Ai also does 'Fit Artboard in Window' when any of artboard navigation hotkeys are used. I’d like also be able to keep zoom level when navigating artboards.

4. Split / Divide Paths into equal parts

   It would be useful being able to split a path into a specific amount of equal parts. Tools like including the possibility to include a gutter like the tools we find in the "Split into Grid" option would be superb too.

   There are ways around to get it. but in makes the whole process tedious and not what someone would expect from software like Adobe Illustrator in 2020.

   PS: It also doesn't make sense that we can not sing in with our Adobe Account into this specific UserVoice forum. But I guess that paying our membership doesn't makes our opinion more relevant. Or should do?

5. Update linked assets for large number of files

   I have an asset in CC Libraries that I used in 50+ ai files. Those ai files are then used in a layout in InDesign. If i change the asset in CC Libraries I would like a way to force an update of that asset to all those AI files so that the update propagates through to my InDesign layout.

7. the arc effect should be applied to the clipping mask not the original object

   When working with a large image that has a clipping mask, and then an arc effect is apply to the clipping mask, the effect is recognizing the large image, and it takes the dimensions of the large image to create the result. instead of focusing on the mask only.

8. Intuitive drawing: "Pencil tool" in mode adding "Blob brush tool"

   Hi,
   I would like to be able to draw, draw and model using the Pencil Tool in edit mode like the "Blob brush tool".
   Eg.
   1 • Pencil Tool. I draw any shape.
   2 • I mark this shape and draw another one
   3 • The effect is the automatic joining of these shapes into one summary.

   Such a simple, fast and intuitive way to draw ketor shapes for the cartoonist.

   Attention.
   • Drawing with the "Blob brush tool" is a different shape effect without sharp lines. Eg saw. E.g. lasts or coat or hair cartoons.
   • drawing many objects and then combining them with the Shape bulider tool is not the same. This is not a quick and intuitive drawing. Requires re-selection of objects.
   • Turning on the "Pencil Tool" "Keep selected" + "edit Selected" option creates a hassle in the intuitive and quick work of the illustrator, because you have to finish a new shape on the line of the old object, if I do not do this (I will leave with an electronic pen using the tablet) The combined shapes of complex lines and illustrator completely change the shape creating a net result of the third shape, a completely surprising effect. This mode is not for cartoonists who draw shapes intuitively. Constantly enabling and switching two options "Keep selected" + "edit Selected" while working is some fun with the patience of the illustrator.

   P.S.
   A surprising impression from using Illustrator for so many years.

   I do not know any of my colleagues who draw Adobe Illustrator seriously at the stage of creation because of the lack of intuitive and thought-out solutions for this stage of creation.

   The name "Illustrator" is so really the idea of ​​the creators of this tool completely forgotten in today's interface and the philosophy of drawing objects in this Adobe tool.

   The current version of Illustrator has its very good and strong points. Many programmers work hard, but their use is so annoying. There is so little missing.

9. Highlight to reveal objects that have rotation

   Selection highlights used to be jagged or stepped in appearance if a slight angle was present in an object or text. Now it is impossible to see if an object or text is at zero degrees of rotation unless you examine the transform properties panel.

   I'd like the ability to highlight any object that has rotation other than zero degrees to enable an accurate artwork environment.

10. Make the GPU renderer realize when it is grinding to a halt and turn itself off automatically.

    The GPU renderer is great. If you're on a machine with a hefty GPU. If you're not throwing a bunch of bitmaps and/or bitmap effects at it. If you're not working with a lot of overlaid transparency.

    If one or more of these is false, it starts slowing down the preview rendering. And not by microseconds. I have files that render the preview a little sluggishly, but still usably, with the CPU renderer, and take minutes to update with the GPU renderer.

    I myself have permanently turned off the GPU renderer, as I regularly fail all three of these ifs - I'm on a laptop with an integrated GPU, and I do a lot of bitmap effects and layered transparency. But I regularly see new users asking why AI is so apocalyptically slow, and turning off the GPU renderer almost always fixes this.

    The Data Recovery auto-saver is smart enough to realize when it's taking forever, and turn itself off, with a helpful little alert for the user. The GPU renderer is not. Please think about how to give it this ability.

11. Import AI smart objects as vectors

    If you have a smart object that is a vector (say an .ai file) for use in Photoshop, if you later export the PSD file back to AI, all the smart objects get rasterized including vector smart objects. It would be better if they are converted back to vector (except maybe in situations where they have effects or masks).

12. 3D Revolve Perspective is Always Off Center

    The perspective setting for the 3D revolve effect seems to be centered on the OBJECT being revolved rather than the AXIS of the revolve. That means that adding any perspective skews the object off-center (see lower cylinder in attached example screenshot).

    Could a setting be added to shift the center of the perspective to the axis (among other options)? Sorry if a setting exists and I just can't find it.

13. Simple navigation in the structure of objects.

    Simple navigation in the structure of objects.

    Finishing the code of this great idea would be an exit to a new quality of work and management of objects during creation.

    1. Add a drop-down list to each column in this bar. For example, clicking on layers causes the layer tree to be highlighted in the document stack.
    2. Editing object / layer / group name from this level.
    3. Layer menu in this bar.
    4. Clicking on the first left arrow "Leaving group" simulation of the ESC key operation at this level of work with the object.

14. Add a keyboard shortcut for Relink

    One of the features I use very heavily is the Relink button in the Link palette. It has major advantages over the Place function:

    1) it automatically replaces selected linked images (Place requires you to check the Replace checkbox, which becomes unchecked once you do any other Place that isn't a replace)

    But most importantly,
    2) It allows you to relink multiple linked images (replacing them in order from topmost to bottommost).

    Since there is literally no other way to replace multiple linked images in a single action (Place grays out the Replace checkbox if you have more than one linked image selected), clicking that tiny little chain in the Link palette is the only way to do this. That means you have to have the link palette open in order to access this feature. While I use the Link palette for all sorts of things, unless I'm replacing linked images (or checking their attributes), I usually have it collapsed or hidden by other palettes.

    So the current workflow is (1) select the objects to relink, (2) open/show the Links palette, (3) click the tiny little chain icon. When doing lots of relinking, this is tiring.

    A keyboard command that would activate this functionality would be a huge timesaver for anyone who is using Illustrator's otherwise excellent aggregation functionality.

    Smart Guides can be used to align artboards almost the same as other shapes. If you have a feature request or a bug report on the behavior you don’t like about — please upvote an existing one or make a new one.

16. Simulate color blindness for accessibility

    It would be nice to be able to quickly check my work for accessibility. A button group/panel that lets me switch between protanopia, deuteranopia, tritanopia, and monochromacy would be really useful. Arguably, a monochromatic view is useful outside of accessibility, allowing one to check the tonal or value relationships in a design. This feature is not only applicable in Illustrator but across many of your products.

17. Align to Artboard is set as default

    Align to Artboard is automatically set to default, even after changing the toggle to Align to Selection.

    It used to work that whichever you selected, that selection would remain. But now, it always switches back to Align to Artboard. Very frustrating.

    It would be nice if Ai could allow to split a blend in a step defined, effectively creating two merged blends — something that CorelDraw was able to do for years.

19. Being Able to toggle between selecting All Anchor Points on a Selected Object and All Objects

20. Paste into selected object

    Very easy to paste easily from the clipboard to the selected object.
    ⌘ + alt + shift = paste into selected object.

    Currently, the option is complicated and not intuitive. A lot of time.
