Typography Swapping Window (just like “Recolor Artwork”
I use Edit>Edit Colors>Recolor Artwork so very often that I have replaced the “Rulers” keyboard shortcut with “Recolor Artwork.”
“Character Styles” and “Paragraph Styles” are invaluable tools, but I REALLY would love to have a dialogue box identical to that of “Recolor Artwork,” except for swapping & changing type, character & paragraph rules/styles. If necessary, I can create a mockup of the UI that I have in my head for this, but I’m not planning to, unless it is necessary.

Add trim marks back to artboards like in previous versions
Add trim marks back to artboards like in previous versions. As a print shop we use these everyday to quickly and accurately resize artboards so center crop marks and registration marks are not too close to the art when we print films. Not sure why this was even removed.

Rotate tool - centering bullseye needs to be larger
So it's easier to grab, if you don't get your mouse exactly, directly on it to move it, everything rotates where you don't want it

Artboards in 2018 can no longer be rapidly deleted
In past versions of Illustrator, I was able to click on an artboard and continuously delete artboards until I had to ones that I want. Now when I select an artboard and delete it, the selection is deselected. I now have to continuously highight and delete, highlight and delete until I have removed all the artboards I need.

Add more options to preferences
Every time you guys change something on these programs it seems to affect me. Most of the time it is not in a good way. I believe this could be solved by allowing the user more options in preferences to turn on and off these options.
For instance.
You changed the way the the zoom in and zoom out works. It used to be it would just zoom out directly from where you are but now it zooms out from the object selected which is very annoying.
I'm sure that works for some people but if it was a preference option they you could set it to your liking.
I just downloaded the new version yesterday and right off the bat I noticed the align tool does not stay on the align to artboard like it used to. I align constantly when I design and would like the option to change the align to option without it changing on its own to default align to selection.
Personally I use all the options just would like it to stay on the last selection I made until I change it. This could also be resolved by allowing an option in preferences. I think you should make all options that are changed like these a preference option. That's my two cents.Every time you guys change something on these programs it seems to affect me. Mobile Creations
In the 2015 version of Illustrator, when opening the app, there was a Mobile Creations section where I could open any of the drawings I had made on my iPad. While I was only able to open these if no other Illustrator files were currently open, it was at least easy to access tese items when needed.
Currently, there isn't an option for this and I have to install the older version after mine updated automatically.
It would be helpful to be able to access these mobile items easily from the landing page in Illustrator and from a customer Open option in the File menu. While I recognize that I can "send" these items to Illustrator if needed, my results with that flow are wonky at best and it's sensible to have a way to pull up ALL my documents in CC, not just computer-based files.

Please make the slicing more like Fireworks with naming and sizes individual for each artboad (like stages/pages in Fireworks).
Currently I can not export bitmap icons with the the right names and in the right sizes as in Fireworks including padding.
And when I go to another document for a different platform (an app), I have to include the different sizes again.
Also I have no preview like in legacy before I overwrite the old picts.
Making graphics for mobile devices, your presets are based on the lowest resolution (@1). Some user control please...

Double Click last point to close a shape with the pen tool.
When making a shape with the pen tool, double clicking the last point made should close the shape, instead of having to go to the first point manually.

A simple disable button for this new feature, i've been using illustrator for over 20 years and this is one of my most used key commands and i'm being driven close to madness. Thanks

Randomizer
We've all come across a time when we needed to repeat an element, but it needs to be transformed slightly different in each instance, whether that be position, rotation, reflection, scale or shearing. So, I propose a randomizing tool/function that you could use to make that happen. First you draw the elements you wanted to be randomly affected, then draw a shape to enclose them all. Select "Randomize" and they become something like a group.. You select one, and they're all selected. You could transform one, and the amount that you transformed it would be the limit any of them could be transformed.
So, if you had 20 circles and you wanted them all to be slightly sized differently, you could Randomize them all, then select the "group" and transform the scale to increase to 105%. This would make them increase anywhere from 100.00% to 105.00%, since they're already at 100%
It would be fun and useful!

Easy portability of customization
I really want easier customization portability in AI.
Workspaces and Keyboard Shorts specifically.
I'd love to be able to use any computer and just by signing into CC have these come along.
And if not that at least a far more straight forward/intuitive method of moving them from one computer to another and from one version to the next.
It literally takes me a half hour to set things up as I like if I have to do it from first principles (and longer for keyboard shortcuts — I usually don't even know what I have until I try and do something and get an unexpected result).I really want easier customization portability in AI.

Reinstate The Functionality Of The Swatches Panel In CS 5.5
I’d like to see the functionality of the Swatch panel that was in (Windows) Ai CS 5.5 reinstated. Specifically, when the panel was opened, I used to be able to toggle through the Color Modes by holding Shift and clicking on the color square (thumbnail). If I held Cntrl, it would toggle to the color compliment. These were two great features that were eliminated with CS 6 through to the current version of CC 2017. Bring these back!!

Density pixels and screen pixels unit to include to design mobile apps
Always as designer we have to calculate or check the calculation in other sites for dp or sp to px. It will be helpful if you include these units in adobe illustator.

Change the layer an object is located on
If you have a large artboard with multiple objects and layers it is really time consuming to organize your layers when all you can do is drag and drop. I think it would be useful if you could right click on an object and "move to layer" like you can in muse.
4 votesThere is a way – let us know if this works for you.
- Select the object(s).
- Highlight the layer you want the selection to go to.
- Object menu or right-click > Arrange > Send to Current Layer -
