Dimension Tool option that creates appropriate size lines, arrows, text, based on the art measured
I work within a wide range of sizes, from very small to very large. 9 times out of 10 I'll go to use the dimension tool and find that the lines, arrows, text, etc. are far too large or small. I'll then go through the tedious process of deleting the dimensions, taking a wild guess that the new input sizes will do the trick, and try again. I like all the detailed controls and don't wish for them to go away, but I'd love the option for a more intuitive sizing result based upon whatever I'm measuring. for example, if I'm measuring a five inch shape, it should know not to use a 12 pt or 120 pt font, but something more fitting, like 40 pt. Maybe there could be a checkbox within the setting for "intuitive sizing".

Custom Keyboard Shortcuts dialog should highlight changes from defaults
This is such a little thing, but I would love to scroll through my list of keyboard shortcuts and see an indication next to ones I've changed to custom, that are different from the default.

Add an option to distort objects to conform the path in Objects on Path
Having an envelope distort option on Objects on Path would be nice too.

Overset Text Warning on Outline
Outlining a textbox which contains overset text should trigger an alert.
This would help to avoid inadvertent loss of that overset text.
The alert could include [Cancel] and [Ignore / Continue] buttons.Below is a link to a suggested function which would help the user find and resolve any overset text:

"Find Overset Text" Function
The overset text [+] icon can be easily overlooked in a busy document.
There needs to be a way to cycle through text boxes with overset text.
The way the Find/Replace Font dialogue cycles through and focuses on results would be acceptable.
These would be the minimum required buttons.
Find (Next)
Done (Cancel / Exit)For an efficient workflow, include a preview of the overflowing text within the dialogue .
A "Delete Overset Text" button adjacent to the preview could save a lot of time since overset text boxes often just contain a stray line break. This function would pair well with the suggestion on an Overset Text Warning on Export (like InDesign)

Recognize Artboard Overlapping
I often run into times where I try to drag an artboard and I might accidentally overlap artboards which then grabs the art on the other artboard. If Illustrator can recognize artboard overlapping and warn the user of it or have a smart option which recoginzes and keeps the art on their respective artboards even if they are overlapping, that would be really nice.

Ability to turn off all tips/tours
I have seen the same blue warning message about discontinuing PMS colors over and over no matter how many times I dismiss. I've been using this software for 20 years. I don't need tips. I especially don't need tips multiple times. Can we have a one stop shop to turn off all of this stuff? They seem to get more intrusive with every update.

Please show that a document is loading, on the Home Screen
When double clicking on a recent file, to open it, from the Home Screen, there is a very noticeable multi-second delay - where nothing changes or indicates that the load operation is happening.
Like, when I double click too slow to actually trigger the file open function, there's no way to know that my double click failed, without just waiting a few seconds to see if the Home Screen goes away and the file begins obviously loading, so I land up wasting extra time, just to realize I still need to double click to open my file.
It's only slightly annoying, but it is still annoying.
I put it as a feature request, because the easiest solution would be to add some kind of indicator over top of the Home Screen that confirms Illustrator is loading my document. Either that, or just have the Home Screen close immediately, before it even starts the load/open operation.
Sometimes it's a bit more annoying, because I launch a recent file from the Home Screen as I'm leaving my desk to go prepare a coffee, but then I come back and sit down only to find that I'm still on the Home Screen, because my double click wasn't fast enough.
Anyways, Illustrator is still awesome, and big thanks from me to the team behind it!
Cheers,
Robert H

Allow to add folders for opened document tabs in the top tab bar
Hey guys! While using Adobe Illustrator, I thought it’d be super helpful if we could organize the opened document tabs in a workspace panels better — like grouping them together and renaming the groups, kind of like folders. It’d make things a lot easier when working on multiple projects and trying to keep everything separated by sections.

Symbol preview display size
Even the Large List view is still too small to visualize the profile of each symbol, it works well with simple symbols but with more complex symbols it becomes impossible to see except by the name

Add Copies field in Transform Each dialog
Transform effect dialog looks a lot like Transform Each dialog.
Perhaps Transform Each should get the same Copies field that the effect’s dialog has, to avoid hitting/holding Ctrl+D and to be able preview the result like the effect allows.Original idea by Enisio

Add 'bold/heavy' and 'italic/oblique' and similar features to the Font filter options.
I'm sitting here designing a character for my current comic, and part of this task involves deciding which font works best for their dialogue. Or which font family; I need to have at least one option for emphasis. Maybe two, bold and italic kind of imply different tones of voice.
I have a lot of fonts that are parts of families and have italic/oblique/bold/heavy/black variants. I also have variable fonts that include weight and angle/*****/etc sliders. And I also have a lot of fonts that have none of these options.
It would be very helpful if I could tell Illustrator to only show me fonts that have some of these variations, whether via multiple fonts in a family, or variable font siders. This would save me a lot of time scrolling through my collection of fonts, seeing one that feels good, only to hit the disclosure triangle next to it and discover its family doesn't include what I need!

Allow to quickly change stroke units directly from Stroke panel
Currently, the stroke unit can be adjusted via the Preferences > Units > Stroke settings. It would be extremely helpful if this setting could also be made accessible directly from the Stroke panel as a shortcut.
Being able to quickly switch between measurement units is particularly important for us during production workflows. Therefore, we kindly ask you to consider adding a shortcut to the Stroke panel for easier access to unit settings.

Allow editing of text content in dynamic symbol instances
When creating dynamic symbols, there can be some changes to individual instances, however, the text content is static. If you need multiple instances of the same symbol, but with different text content, the only way to achieve that is to break the symbol link before editing; future style updates to the symbol will not be inherited. Sometimes the intended behaviour can be achieved through Character or Paragraph Styles, but if the symbol also includes non-text objects, that is no longer an option.
It would be great if text content for instances of dynamic symbols could be changed dynamically.
Sample use cases might be illustrations of maps, board games, calendars, instruction manuals; anything that requires a lot of individual short text instances with consistent iconography or styling.

Display Active Modifier-Key Command on Screen when holding Control, Shift, or Alt
When holding down any combination of Ctrl, Shift, or Alt, Illustrator should display on-screen text indicating which command is being invoked.
Moving or duplicating artboards requires the artboard toolbar to be selected, and then Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys to be held at once in order to drag a duplicate artboard parallel to the original. A simple on-screen text saying "Drag artboard, Drag parallel, Drag with Contents" or similar would help users intuitively understand which hot‑key action is being triggered, especially when working with multiple modifier keys where memorization can be challenging.
This can be used not just for artboard commands, but all six (!) different paste commands, too.

Add Biology & Scientific Diagram Tools for Easy Cell and Medical Illustrations
As an illustrator specializing in biology, microbiology, and scientific educational diagrams, I often find it time-consuming and challenging to create natural-looking cells, organelles, biological textures, and clean labels within Adobe Illustrator. To improve workflow and accuracy, I propose that Adobe adds a dedicated set of toolbar tools designed specifically for biological and scientific illustrations, focusing on ease of use, organic shapes, and diagramming features.
Suggested Tools Include:
Organic Blob Tool: Create irregular, smooth cell shapes with adjustable wobble and roundness.
Cell Chain Tool: Draw linked cells or bacteria chains with customizable spacing and size.
Pseudopod Tool: Add flowing, arm-like extensions for visualizing amoebas or cellular movement.
Membrane Ripple Tool: Generate subtle wavy edges to mimic membranes or cell walls.
Cell Texture Fill Tool: Fill cells with natural biological textures like cytoplasm or granules.
Nucleus Tool: Easily place nuclei or organelles centered inside cells.
Cilia Brush Tool: Paint fine hair-like cilia or flagella projections from edges.
Cross Section Tool: Draw dashed sectional lines with arrows and labels for anatomy diagrams.
Label Connector Tool: Create snapping leader lines with easy label placement for diagrams.
Microscope View Tool: Apply circular magnification overlays with blur outside for micrographs.
Force Vector Tool: Draw arrows representing flows or directional forces scaled by magnitude.
Data Plot Brush: Sketch rough graphs that snap cleanly to axis-aligned charts.
Molecular Cluster Tool: Generate clusters of atoms or molecules with bonded shapes.
Field Line Tool: Illustrate magnetic, electric, or fluid flow lines around objects smoothly.
Radiation Emission Tool: Show particle or wave emissions radiating from points.
Circuit Path Tool: Draw technical flow lines with snap-to-grid elbows for pathways.
Axis Label Tool: Quickly create labeled graph axes with ticks and units.
Tissue Matrix Tool: Fill areas with fibrous or mesh-like biological textures.
Vein & Branch Tool: Create branching structures like veins, roots, or neural networks with adjustable density and angles.
Specimen Label Tool: Add smart snapping labels with leader lines for specimens or cell parts.
Benefits:
Speeds up the creation of scientific and biological illustrations
Reduces reliance on manual anchor editing or complicated plugins
Enables clear, professional, and natural diagrams for education and publication
Supports educators, researchers, and medical illustrators with specialized tools
Please consider adding these toolbar tools to Illustrator to make it the go-to app for biological and scientific illustrations

Make Path Direction Attribute editable for non compound paths too
In vector graphics, every path har a direction. This direction has major influence in several situations, suchs as variable width strokes, object on path, and compound paths. Unfortunattely the path direction can only be accesses/changed when the path is part of a compound path. Please make the attributen changeable for every path.

Please add virtual sliders for Rotate values for Objects on Path
Great new tool, Objects on Path. Unfortunately, the UI for rotating the Objects is not very smooth. We can choose preset angles via a dropdown, or type numbers. Why not add virtual sliders, just like Photoshop? This is so much more intuitive in a design process.

Bring back the ability to make Picture Clipping Files!
In illustrator you used to be able to drag any art in illustrator to your desktop and it would create a .pictclipping file.
The file would then be a ready to use symbol or pice of art preserve spot colors, Layers, Grouping, Overprint, Any Attributes! It's simple and easy to use and so easy to share with my coworkers! More importantly, because of how simply it operates, better than the current library/symbols functions. I don't understand why they would phase it out.
It's just not as easy to share standardized art through adobe's available functions. We get some new graphic artists that just don't know what they're doing sometimes. It makes training so much easier across the board to have this kind of thing simplified and available.
I haven't been able to make a picture clipping file in a while and the ones I use are getting old. Bring them back please! I still use ones made from 2017 daily. an incredible tool lost since illustrator version 25.48 and I've tried to get adobe to help me download that version only to be told it's not compatible anymore.
