Sort brushes by name
In the symbol pallet you can select to sort symbols by name. It would be wonderful if this option was also available for your brush pallet.

copy object coordinates
Copy object coordinates / Apply object coordinates would be useful when you want to move an object temporarily, or apply the same coordinates to another object.

Add a Spot Colors channel to the Separations Preview window
Add a "Spot Colors" channel to the "Separation Preview" window. Like you have in Acrobat. See screenshot attached. This will make toggling through the spot colors a LOT more easier and efficient. Then having to turn on and off each spot color individually.

Remove "Move" limitation from Transform Each & Transform Effect
When moving items via "Transform Each", objects are limited to moving 55.555". However, when moving objects with Move (Object - Transform - Move), no such limitation exists (Issue is prevalent in V24.0.1, 23 & CS6)
The same limit exists for Transform Effect.
My request is for the removal of this limitation to allow for accurate artwork creation.Issue is documented and verified here:

“Clipping path limit reached for TIFF preview" dialog.
Please add a checkbox with the "Do not show" option in the “Clipping path limit reached for TIFF preview" dialog. This comes up hourly in my company's workflow and the only option given is "Ok". Thank you.

Wider Vertical Ruler ?
Is it possible to get a wider vertical ruler? The numbers are awkward to read and slows you down.
Just wide enough for the numbers to read horizontally instead of from top to bottom.
It's just impossible to easily find individual measurements if they go to more than two digits.
This looks like there is an error in the UI.

Place function at scale
I use photoshop and illustrator in tandem and often place images in illustrator that exceed the max width (227"). It would be so helpful if there were a place option where you can select scale. For example, I would like to place a 250" wide image in illustrator at 25" wide, or tenth scale.

Illustrator Swatch Panel to behave like InDesign
Colours should always be global.
If a colour is deleted, it can be replaced with another.
Global colours don't get converted to Spot colours when added to CC Library

Snapping unexpectedly disabled when drawing to an Artboard edge
When using the rectangle tool or other drawing tools, you can snap to the edge of an artboard, but you cannot snap to grid lines that intersect with the artboard edge.
This makes things complicated if you are designing relative to the artboard all the time with Snap to Grid or Snap to Pixel enabled. I have to workaround it, snapping inside or outside the artboard edge first, then moving the point an exact increment to match where the artboard edge and grid line intersect.
Notice that in my screen recording, this happens even at the beginning when I first…

Ability to rename fills, strokes, effects in Appearance Panel
Ability to name each item in Appearance panel, like with the layers.
Example: Fill: Bottom Background Shade, Stroke: Top Left White Light etc.
This would let us easily get around complex objects.

Better reflect tool functionality with option to add multiple instances similar to Macromedia Freehand.
Illustrator needs a better reflect tool that can add multiple instances. The way Freehand's reflect/rotate tool worked was IMO optional because it gave a live preview of the outcome and worked intuitively.
I know that similar thing can be done in effects -> transform, but you need many more steps to achieve the same result, often not knowing what to expect visually before you get the result.

Smart Object like in Photoshop
Smart object for illustrator will be a nice feature. Also it will be awesome if both photoshop and illustrator can work with smart object. Currently, photoshop can handle (automatically convert files to smart object when placed, imported, copied in photoshop) vector/raster objects copied from illustrator document. But for some reason, illustrator doesn't have that feature. Would love to see smart objects/group in illustrator.
Thank you Adobe.

Trim view stops working when artboards are hidden
When you hide art boards, trim view stops working. Some times I hide artboards because it removes the border created by the artboards. A borderless artboard is more true to wha the final export/print will look like. But when I hide the artboards, the trim view is disabled. Please bring back trim view even though artboards are hidden!

Trim paths
Like in After Effects the option to trim a line. When you have an extra line on an object, the one above can be trimmed. Ending with a line with two color ends.
No more stacking multiple lines and having to edit them all if the shape changes.4 votes -
Customize Preset Stroke Weight
Not sure if this is in the right category but I would like the ability to preset the stroke weight to something smaller (or bigger) than 1px. If I'm using the pen tool for multiple things I find that the stroke weight of 1px can be too heavy & I can't see what I'm outlining in the fine detail I require because the stroke is so big, so I was wondering if there was a way to set it in the preferences window so that every time I created a shape or path with the pen tool the stroke weight…

Show gridlines in outline view
If "Show Grid" is activated, in Outline View, the grid is mostly invisible. It only leaves very subtle dotted lines along the major grid lines, but the subdivision grid lines aren't visible.
It would be nice to see some faint lines of the subdivision grid lines in outline view so when I'm zooming in very close, those lines don't disappear.
