Uninstalling Duet Display fixes Premiere and Illustrator crash on file open and file create
I spent an hour trying to get Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Premiere to simply open a file or create a new file. They would both crash immediately with the dialogue box that sends a crash report.
I uninstalled without saving settings and reinstalled both. I also ran the Adobe CC Cleaner tool These made no difference.
Finally, on a hunch I uninstalled Duet Display, a program that allows you to use an iOS device as a second monitor. This fixed the issue.

In Illustrator, I went to edit > preferences > performance and unchecked "GPU Performance" and now am able to use my PC & Illustrator via Duet Display.

Same issue - microsoft surface pro 5. Uninstall fixed adobe crashing on illustrator and photoshop startup. Shame as I loved using duet as a second monitor previously

Same on HP Spectre laptop with NVIDIA card along with internal Intel graphics. All CC apps crashed, but after uninstalling Duet Display, all worked fine (even though I wasn't using the iPad as a second monitor). Another Lenovo laptop seems to work fine though.

Yes, I have just discovered this but it isn't true on all my machines. It's only a problem only on my new laptop while my other systems have no issues running Adobe programs with Duet Display. I will list system specs so maybe someone can say if they have similar hardware or drivers that are causing this conflict.
XPS 15, Intel i7-8750H 2.2ghz, UHD 630 Integrated Graphics, Nvidia GTX1050ti with Max-Q Design, 16gb ram

Same. Wanted to use duet as 2nd display on win10 and premiere. Crash when hitting play button or graphic preview. Tried to switch from gpu to software-only playback - but crashed as well.. After uninstalling duet, premiere worked perfect.
