Font drop down doesn't work on CS6 all of the sudden

I have Windows 10 and Illustrator CS6. Worked great until a couple weeks back.
The font dropdown does not work at all. Not in Character map, not in Type > Fonts.
I uninstalled Illustrator CS6, re-downloaded the file from Adobe, re-installed. Nothing
I uninstalled Windows 10 updates for 2 months... nothing...
Please I need this to work!
