Align Not Working

Found the solution to the problem.
Search carefuly what you have grouped together. If you have a guide grouped in your object then it wont aling. Find the guide and ungroup it from your object.

    Why a horizontal guideline interferes with horizontal alignment is beyond me - but thanks for the tip/fix!
