Can't open files from Windows File Explorer
Files will no longer open from Windows File Explorer. Double clicking on file names does not work, dragging them into Illustrator does not work. Only the menu FILE > OPEN works. Please fix this.

I'm getting the same thing - double clicking my Illustrator files does not open them. I have to go through the FILE - OPEN menu in Illustrator too - this is REALLY slowing me down! PLEASE FIX!! I am running the most current version of Illustrator too so upgrading is not an issue here.

I am having the same problem. I keep file explorer open to quickly open the files. Needing to go through FILE in Illustrator every time is annoying.
