Metadata title isn't saving (24.0)
When I save an illustrator file, it's stripping out the specified metadata title and replacing it with the filename upon re-opening the file. Even if I re-enter the info in Bridge, when I modify & save the file in Illustrator, it reverts to the file name.
When I export the image though, it attaches whatever title is showing in the file info panel in Illustrator, regardless of whether it will "stick" after closing or not.
Also to note, if I enter info into other fields it seems to work fine. It's only the Title that is being overridden.

Just realized that my workaround in the previous post is pretty useless. You can't open the .ai files in Photoshop unless you make the file PDF compatible, and not in previous versions of Illustrator either.
You have to resave the .ai files in Illustrator CS6 if you want to keep your metadata title and save the file with PDF compability.
Adobe, how about solving stuff like this in the coming versions instead of adding new features? I'm quite sure it would be more appreciated.

I hate this too. This bug has made med lose countless hours over the years, when I have to reopen a ton of files and enter all the titles again...
Just did some tests and this seems to happen all the time when "Create PDF Compatible File" is checked in the save dialog box.
If you uncheck "Create PDF Compatible File" the metadata title actually stays. But only if you use "Save" when you save the document. If you use "Save as..." the metadata title will be replaced with the file name again.
So I guess the workaround at the moment is to uncheck pdf compability and never ever use "Save as...".
