1. The autosave in illustrator

   The autosave in illustrator make system very busy and crushed illustrator, after restart file usually broken, has just part information (links broken, part of assets absent) or file start to be not rideable at all.

2. Toplayers in layer panel flip open when opening files, even after closing them when closing the file.

   Files with a lot of layers that have sublayers should keep their toplayers 'closed' to keep things orderly and manageable. Now every time I open a file, AI flips most (not all! why?) toplayers open, thereby showing all sublayers, making the layer panel a superlong list and cluttering view. I always have to start by manually closing them all again. rinse and repeat after closing the file.... There seems to be no structure as to which toplayers get flipped open and which stay closed, so it is not a pref setting it seems.

4. Major Font problem in Ai CC 2018

   Adobe Illustrator 22.0 64-bit
   Windows 10 1703 (build 15063.632) 64-bit

   Characters refuses to render, be it in an area frame or a single line. Can't work like that, returning to CC 2017 right now.
   I had a full page of text yesterday and now I have just the backgrounds. The text frame can be selected but the characters panel doesn't show any information regarding type weight or anything. Also, the Find Font dialog is broken.

5. Layers Window Twirl Down Icon Issue

   I only know of this occurring on the latest version of Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 for Windows 8.1. In the Layers Windows, there's a very slight graphical bug. A locked group within another locked group is expanded to show what it contains by pressing the sideways "V" shaped arrow to the group's left side. As expected, the arrow plays its animation of rotating into the downward "V" shape and expanding the group. However, when the locked group is compressed down again, the button to expand the group disappears and is unclickable until clicking off to another item in the Layers Window and then clicking back to the original group I was working with. This also appears to only be an issue in Windows. I first noticed this on September 29, 2017, and it's still occurring as of October 14, 2017.

6. Flickering Cursor

   The cursor constantly flickers after I opened Illustrator 3 months ago, and I cannot type anything anywhere in my laptop. Before that, I could use this software normally. Really annoying, please fix it.

7. Trackpad selection issue with High Sierra

   When selecting objects or drawing with any of the tools, Illustrator is not recognizing the trackpad release, so objects remain selected and the only way to deselect them is to Command-tab out of the application. I was able to duplicate this problem on my laptop as well. Appears to be related to the trackpad because the same issue doesn't appear to happen when I use a standard mouse.

8. All Dialog Boxes Open Behind App

   This is happening more and more, and usually when first opening the application. If some dialog box, typically a warning or something, pops up but for some reason then gets pushed behind or hidden by the main app window, there is no way to get back to it and no way for the app to function. Trying to click on ANY part of the app just gets the "no - beep", the sound that plays when you are trying to do something but something else has to happen first... like if a warning box pops up and you try to click ANYWHERE on the app, it will beep at you until you accept/cancel the warning, THEN you can operate the app as normal.

   BUT, when this box becomes hidden or is just behind the app, nothing can get you back to it. You can't minimize the app because it just beeps at you, waiting for you to respond to the warning. You can CMD+Tab to other apps, but when you get back to Illustrator, it doesn't refresh of bring the warning box back.

   On the dock icon, there is a "Show all windows" option, but that doesn't fix the problem either.

   On the Menu Bar > Illustrator > Quit is grey-ed out, the Dock Icon "Quit" doesn't work, so all you can do is open the Activity Monitor and FORCE QUIT Illustrator. Then, reopen and hope it doesn't happen again.

9. High Sierra drag/drop/copy/paste issues

   Drag/drop/copy/paste lags, doesn't work in Illustrator 21.1.0. Everything (click/drag/copy/copy/paste) is so slow that it doesn't appear to work. Even something as simple as Help/About fails.

10. Not enough memory

    Have issues with CC 2017 (latest version) not being able to action things as not enough memory. Seems to be that 2GB limit that Ai imposes as my system has 64GB installed with at least 40GB free to use. The programme is also incredibly slow with anything complex. I reinstalled CS6 version, and that works faultlessly and fast with the same files, with no hesitation at all! It's at least 20x times faster than current Ai. I'm on a powerful Mac Pro with Sierra 10.12.6 and an NVIDIA 4GB GTX 970 graphics card. I have disabled GPU use as it often crashes AI. I put performance ahead of new features. There are so many vector programmes out there that work so much faster than Ai. There must be a fix as something is definitely seriously wrong here.

11. Latest update (30.6) = Extreme Slowdown

    Since the latest update (30.6), with latest MacOS, Illustrator has become almost unusable. Clicking on anything takes about 2-3 seconds and if you move or try to double-click – heaven help you...

    Needs an urgent fix!

12. ファイルのアクセス権が起動時に必ず求められる

    Mac版についてになります。
    アプリの起動を行うと、まず初めに

    「Adobe Illustrator 2026から、他のアプリからのデータへのアクセス権を求められています。」
    という確認ポップアップが、表示されるようになりました。

    Macの設定にある、「セキュリティ、プライバシー」のファイルアクセスなどに関する権限をみたところ、追加がされていませんでした。
    （なお、PremiereやPhotoshopは追加されていました）
    残念ながら、Mac上では対象アプリを追加することができないようになっており、これらの対応策が見つからない状態になりました。

    同様の現象などで回避策をお持ちでしたらご教示ください。

    Illustrator　30.2.1の最新版

    （26/3/14現在）

    このバージョンにアップデートしてから今回のような症状が現れた記憶になります。

13. Many issues in Illustrator 2025

    Hi everyone,
    I'm experiencing a range of serious issues in Illustrator 2025 when working with AI or PDF files (many of which originate as PDFs and are then converted to AI for editing). Here's a breakdown of what's going wrong:

    ⚠️ Main Problems:

    Error ID: -128 when pasting text
    Every time I try to paste text into a text box—whether copied from a browser, a PDF, or even another Illustrator file—I get an error saying:
    Can't paste the type. ID: -128
    This makes it impossible to replace or update any existing text areas.

    Can't move objects: transformation too large
    When trying to move a single element, I get an error:
    Can't move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large.
    No idea why this happens—nothing is grouped, and I’ve checked that all layers are unlocked.

    Dragging text boxes stretches the text instead of resizing the box
    When I try to expand a text area, Illustrator stretches the text itself rather than increasing the box size. It seems like all text is stuck in Point Type mode, and switching it to Area Type doesn’t always work.

    Selection issues and erratic grouping

    Some objects can't be selected at all unless I use Outline mode.

    Clicking one object sometimes causes all nearby objects to move.

    Even though I haven't grouped anything, Illustrator treats random sets of objects as if they're linked.

    Save and export often fail or hang

    Saving the document often gets stuck or results in a corrupt file.

    Exporting as PDF, PNG, or SVG occasionally fails without an error or freezes Illustrator entirely.

15. crash after windows update

    Every time since I installed the latest windows update (KB5407453, KB4509096) that I try to open or create a new file adobe illustrator crashes. The crash report is attached.

    From the looks of it it seems to be crashing with GPU. Here is what I can suggest
    1. TEST: Disable GPU from preference panel and then create a anew document to see if it still crashes
    2. FIX: Update GPU driver – each manufacturer will have a different way to get and install drivers. some help here: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/illustrator-gpu-performance-driver-update.html

16. Can't open .dwg files all of a sudden

    Ai CC 2019 - Can no longer open dwg files - the error is "unknown file format" the old work around used to be to save the .dwg & all xref's to a 2010 version and it would open. Super frustrating as this has occurred in the middle of a project. How to get the dwg's compatible again?

17. Info palette moves to monitor Measure Tool is used

    The Info palette instantly jumps to the monitor that you use the Measure Tool on. If it's connected to all the other palettes on a secondary monitor, all of them instantly jump to the monitor where you are using the Measure Tool.

    Like most people, I have my palettes on a secondary monitor and my main monitor has my document. So every single time I use the Measure Tool, my palettes jump over to the main monitor.

    Please fix this so the Info palette stays where I put it when using the Measure Tool.

18. Allow a custom swatch palette to be the AI default without using "Legacy File > New"

    Unless I've missed something, it is not possible to use a custom swatch palette as the AI default for all new documents without using the "Use Legacy File > New" feature. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get my custom palette to be the default. Using the standard (non-Legacy) new document feature, I always have to navigate down through the menu to choose my custom swatches, and then it only applies to that one new document. About 99% of what I do is spot color artwork for silkscreen printing, so the AI default CMYK swatch palette is useless to me.

19. Unoperational

    I'm trying to use Illustrator CC and nothing in the program is responding, everything is greyed out. There is no indication from the program that anything is wrong with it. I have downloaded the latest update and this is the first time I have had such an issue with the program.

20. color mix

    Using Adobe Illustrator 23.0.1 CC 2019. My CMYK color 100-85-0-0 changes to 99.17-83.58-1.74-0.02. My document color mode is set to CMYK. How do I keep original l color mix?
