I'm trying to use Illustrator CC and nothing in the program is responding, everything is greyed out. There is no indication from the program that anything is wrong with it. I have downloaded the latest update and this is the first time I have had such an issue with the program.

Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
I am having this problem as well. Once the menu turns gray, all I can do is force quit the app. Restarting the app does nothing. I've found the only solution is to uninstall Illustrator and install it again.

I have a brand new 2-week old iMac 3.8 GHz. I am having the same problems.
It is unusable. It won't even work on a file with ONE single 3 pt line on it. As soon as I call up the Graphic Syles panel, I get the memory error and all menus are greyed out.
I've been using Illustrator since Illustrator 88 and never have had any issues that were so severe. An occasional pimple here and there, but nothing that rendered the software useless. It looks like I will have to go back to the old version. I don't have time for this I have work to do!
Who in the heck at Adobe signed off on this steaming pile of **** that it was ready-to-ship?
