An interesting bug, definitely should be fixed.
Meanwhile there are two things that can help you:1. Try to use VectorFirstAid from AstuteGraphics to parse imported files and fix most of the clipping issues and other problems you probably even did not suspect about.
2. You don’t need to search for the clipping group in Layers manually if you have a child of it selected. You can use Group Selection tool (I have it bound to Shift+A, but it can be also called with holding Alt when Direct Selection is active) to click you object again — it will select the next parent group.
But yes, I think that a group without a clipping path should turn into a normal one too.

An error occurred while saving the comment Yeah, Adobe constantly trains us to expect broken behavior, because AI is bugged as summer garden.
If this is expected while broken, then change it to unexpected while fixed.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 27.1.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

An error occurred while saving the comment I can’t explain stroke weight changes with up/down control buttons, and it works fine for me. Do you still experience this? If yes (which is horrible) — can you share the file, in case it’s project-specific?
New bounding box —tell me, I just turn it of for 20 years. But maybe Show Anchor Points in Selection Tool and Shape Tools option in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display section can help you? I don’t know what 'new' box do you mean though.
Placed image not having 'anchors' to grab... yep, I remember having troubles with this before... but I don’t study it further I am afraid. Do you have an example?
Fluttering cursor between tools — have no idea what do you mean. Please elaborate.
Well, there is not much I can help you with it seems :( But I really wish to.

ご報告いただいた内容を検証した結果、以下の現象を確認いたしました。
- 環境設定の「プレビュー境界を使用」が有効の場合、特定の効果が適用されているポイントテキストオブジェクトを変形パネルの幅（高さ）サイズフィールドで縦横比固定でリサイズすると、文字が正しくリサイズされない。
- 文字パネルのフォントサイズでリサイズする場合は、正しく演算される。
- 環境設定の「プレビュー境界を使用」が無効の場合は、特に問題は発生しない。
これは、以前のバージョンでも同じ現象が確認できました。
修正などの開発の進捗がありましたら、こちらで報告いたします。

So there are 3D Stager, Painter, Sampler, Designer, and Modeler (in Beta now).
If these are not enough for your needs... well, I suppose you should use Maya and Cinema 4D :) -

An error occurred while saving the comment Christophe, new versions of Illustrator can now import PDFs not only as single-page, but as many pages as you like to see (but placed in a new unnamed document then).
See, Illustrator is not a generic PDF editor. These are two different formats, partially compatible. Illustrator can store .ai content inside of saved PDFs to access later, and vice versa, .pdf content in .ai files — which is what gets imported when a user has an older version — because older apps can’t read new format and read what they can.
There are some workarounds, but all of them suggest you use newer versions. The team can’t make changes to released versions. Just upgrade.
