An error occurred while saving the comment To access betas, open your Creative Cloud Desktop application and search the left column for 'Beta apps', with a flask of chemicals icon next to it. It is usually placed below 'Acrobat and PDF' item.
An error occurred while saving the comment John, it does not crash in the latest Beta. Do you have access to it? Can you verify this, please?
An error occurred while saving the comment Yep, it does crash for me also. Reports sent.
Thanks for catching this.An error occurred while saving the comment John, any artwork or a specific one?
Can you share the parameters you use and the file, here (if you are allowed to, and want to share it publicly) or via sharewithai@adobe.com? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Shannon, I can import the file alright.
Do you by any chance keep this file in a cloud-managed folder? Does the issue stay after you restart the computer? -

An error occurred while saving the comment James, I can’t reproduce it with Trajan Pro 3. It looks just fine (except for loosing a fill if I try to create a compound path directly from the outlined group).
Can you please share some screenshots and the output files, along with the settings used? Which method did you use, Export As or Save As, or Export for Screens?
If the files are sensitive and you are not allowed to share them publicly, you can send them over sharewithai@adobe.com

An error occurred while saving the comment I confirm .ai document does get placed in InD without vertical lines of text.
Also, when I try to resave it, to the same .ai, the problem gets eliminated, it gets placed just fine... interesting. An error occurred while saving the comment Yep, a typo from me, sorry.
The correct address is sharewithai@adobe.com
Anyway, I'm seeing the files, thanks, will try to replicate. An error occurred while saving the comment I'm afraid the team won’t be able to say anything without the file on their hands... Can you please send it over to sharewithai@adobe.com?

It turns out the folder is managed by Google Drive, and it restored a previous version for some reason.
If you had problems like this too — please comment.
An error occurred while saving the comment Well, it 'solves' it, but not really. What really happens is a mystery. At least you got your data restored!
I must admit I had problems with saving into Drive’s managed folder before, but not like this one, my files were just locked for some time.
If it continues with other files, I think you should try to contact Google :/ Tough! Good luck.
An error occurred while saving the comment So it feels like for some reason GDrive prevented the file from been properly written... or restored the original version. Or not.
Can you look up the other version of this file at https://drive.google.com? Right-click the document and try Version Control.
An error occurred while saving the comment Oh, this is disastrous.
Never had anything like this.
1. Is the document a local file, or a cloud document?
2. If it’s local — is it kept in a plain folder, and not in a any cloud-managed one?
3. What do the dates show, about creation and modification? -

Illustrator uses real Small Capitals when a font has specialized glyphs for that, just like these two top fonts used in the test file.
When a font does not have true small caps, they get faked using the value from Document Setup.
An error occurred while saving the comment The top font is Adobe Garamond Pro.
It has its own glyphs for Small Capitals — real ones. That’s why when you hit the Small Caps buttons, Ai takes these, instead of faking them with the value from Document Setup. This is a designer’s intention to have this size of small caps. The middle font is Palatino Linotype... and for some reason forcing Small Caps on it does not do anything in the latest version! This is strange and need to be studied... OK, figured it out, it does not want to use glyphs when the language is set not to Russian, but in this document only.
Anyway, this Palatino too has specially drawn glyphs for small capitals.
While I admit this is a bit confusing, and Ai does nothing to distinguish automatically scaled fake small caps from the proper ones, this is fairly simple once you figure it out. -

An error occurred while saving the comment I don’t see a three-second lag, but I decided to compare the current speed of opening a sub-tool panel and the speed CS6 has.
Results are (in milliseconds, measured by delays in recorded GIFs):
CC:
49
30
55CS6:
34
34
34So there is a lag, but not that drastically large.

Please get in touch with us at sharewithai@adobe.com or any of the other support channels.
Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.An error occurred while saving the comment I believe it is fixed. Illustrator doesn’t crash now on copying the an art from the file.

An error occurred while saving the comment Glad it fits your need, and sad you can't use it. But even if the team made something from the box, you'd have to switch to CC to try it anyway, right?
Can I also ask why do you prefer to use CS6 still? Don't answer if don't want to, please.
An error occurred while saving the comment Gal, there is an external free solution to your problem that might do exactly the thing you need: http://westonthayer.com/writing/2016/07/27/layout-experiments-in-adobe-illustrator/
There are some reports it does not exactly work on Mac, but you were using Windows, right? Please try and comment back.

An error occurred while saving the comment Gal, the images! It seems you forgot to add them, or that the UV ate them.

An error occurred while saving the comment Thank you! This is indeed the thing I knew nothing about.
An error occurred while saving the comment I can replicate this with the files provided, but since I do not have these specific fonts used, I have to test with substituted fonts... but when I choose other fonts, these texts get outlined normally, without scaling and rotation.
Can you please share more details? Ten says 'synthetic' fonts (as the translator suggests) — what does it mean exactly?
Thanks for bringing this up.

I often work with old files containing old versions of fonts, which are not installed on my PC. We now use newer versions.
Names are almost identical, but AI neither propose new one, so I have to locate replacement manually.
I have to scroll this tiny list and search it by eye.
Keyboard typing only scroll to first typed letter.
Please add Search field there.
