An error occurred while saving the comment I think you mean to ask Ai for having a duplex control right in the Print dialog, am I right? :)
Then this is not a bug, but a feature request, a good one. I am moving it to the dedicated branch and adding my own vote. 'I have always been convinced by convincing arguments'
Please keep these coming. An error occurred while saving the comment Ben, can it be the printer being the one who has the duplex option set by default? Ai never had a duplex options, so it’s hardly its fault... I had this exact problem before and it turned out someone had changed it manually on the device.
Does it help if you change the printer you are printing with? (if you have more than one) -

An error occurred while saving the comment Oh yeah, this is a known issue for me, because it is even more prominent for me, because I don’t use bounding box which gives these handy/obscuring resize controls. To scale a an area type object, I have to click it's frame with the group selection tool. Only when the container is selected, I can scale just it with the Free Transform tool (I prefer a dedicated tool, despite some inconveniences it has).
While I completely agree the issue must be fixed (and vote for it), I can offer that workaround for you — select the frame with direct/group selection when you make a selection that has something else.

An error occurred while saving the comment It is probably hidden under the Rectangle tool. All basic shape Ai can draw are collected under one tool button. Click and hold the button to expand the tool’s menu.
If not — how does the toolbar look for you?
Have you tried to switch into and advanced toolbar with Window > Toolbar > Advanced? Does it have the Ellipse there? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Interesting... I can see both live and outlined texts as filled when I open the document.
Does it help if you disable GPU rendering? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Please tell more. What keys? Do the commands work when you access them via menus? What is you OS input language? Does it happen after the computer is rebooted and no other apps launched? Does it behave the same in other Adobe apps and in the previous version of Ai?

An error occurred while saving the comment Matthias, it seems that your document is in RGB color mode (File > Document Color Mode, displayed in the document’s tab, like '... RGB/Preview').
That is why when you enter CMYK values, they automatically recalculate to an RGB. So when you read this now stored RGB values using CMYK color model in Color panel — you get it recalculated from this RGB value to CMYK, with fractions.
This happens because Illustrator’s color modes (not models!) are exclusive. You can't use RGB colors in CMYK mode or CMYK colors in RGB mode.
But you can make a Spot Color Swatch! When creating a swatch, choose 'Spot Color' in Color Type, choose you Color Mode and Ai will honor the CMYK values you entered (but recalculating them while rendering it in RGB mode).
Please tell how does it work for you.

Michael, can’t see it happening for me... (would be a pain!)
Can you share the file, just in case if it’s document bound for some reason?
And a short video/GIF would help (use LICEcap or GIFCam to record these)
