I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.4.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

An error occurred while saving the comment Filip Blažek commentedEgor, I'm afraid the only way to fix some bugs is to overdo it a bit. But in this case it indeed is discrimination, it's about ignoring users who have a different keyboard than the progammers. This bug has of course already been reported (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/41981506-keyboard-shortcuts-not-working)
The default shortcuts refer to glyphs [ and ] which are not easy to access on the Czech keyboard. We have ú and ) on those positions. I can remap [ to ú in the Keyboard Shortcut panel, but it has no effect whatsoever.
I think I don't have to add all four keyboard shortcuts work well in Illustrator CS6 and CC2021. It is a problem of the pathetic CC2022 version. And there are more problematic keyboard shortcuts, those mentioned above are just the most annoying.
Filip Blažek supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Filip Blažek commentedWhy does Adobe discriminates certain communities?
Adobe says that "core values are diversity and inclusion". But it also discriminates against non-English keyboard users and non-English language users.
As a Czech keyboard user, why can't I change keyboard shortcuts? The "sendToFront" or "sendToForward" function does not work with the Czech keyboard, there is no way to enable the common shortcuts.
As a Czech language user, why can't I use "non breaking space" (U+00A0), which is essential for connecting one-character words with the following word? This is important because of respect for the centuries-old Czech typographic tradition of not leaving single-character words at the end of lines.
Why do you talk about diversity and inclusion while discriminating against users from a nation of 10 million people? -

AltGr is supposed to be equivalent to Alt + ctrl.
At present, when we press e.g. AltGr + E while writing text, we check if any command can handle it and if yes it is not passed to application to handle key event. That’s why existing commands are triggered on those extended char shortcuts. If we want to change the behavior that while writing text key shortcuts (e.g. AltGr + E) should write extended character, Then we will have to sacrifice all the text contextual shortcuts we have at present in app e.g. ctrl + alt + I does something. All those commands would stop working.
This is the reason why we are moving it to the featureFilip Blažek supported this idea · -

Illustrator Beta 29.2.10 now supports Nonbreaking space (U+00A0).
It can also be added with Type > Insert WhiteSpace Character > Nonbreaking Space command.
Please try this build and see if it works for you as expected.
My sincere congratulations to everyone. This symbol means a lot!

Egor, if Adobe programmers ignore the existence of keyboard layouts other than English (and this is not the only case, I come across similar mistakes in the forums quite regularly), it is discrimination.
Maybe the problem of these keyboard shortcuts comes from ignorance, maybe from arrogance and unwillingness. But it's a long-standing attitude that disadvantages users who don't use the English UI.
French necessarily requires non-braking-space because of their « quotation marks », Illustrator has ignored this French cultural specificity for perhaps 30 years. It's not for lack of information, I personally first reported the bug in maybe 1999, maybe 2000, and I'm sure I wasn't alone. Last year I addressed this problem directly with representatives of the programmers from India at the ATypI online conference. The result? Absolute disinterest. What else but discrimination is that?
