When using optical type feature, since the update it displays the type as if it has no spaces?
Running version 25.3 on illustrator.
16.21 indesign.
Since updating me and a few people i know who also use the software across indesign and illustrator have seen when using the optical type feature, it displays the type as if it has no spaces? Type treatment is thrown off to what is traditionally correct. Please fix this! This will have a massive knock on affect with branding agencies if rules are changing regarding such simple things.
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.4.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

I just got off a phone call with support and they confirmed that it is a bug, and they're currently working on it. 25.2.3 works fine, so I suggest reverting back until this is resolved.

Yes, please notify when this has been addressed. I have reverted to previous version 25.2.3 to resolve Optical kerning on my end and have ended automatic updates until this is resolved.
For me, this issue appears with Optical Kerning with Open Type Fonts (previous comment mentioned that this issue only occurs with True Type fonts. This is not true in my situation.) I am running Windows 10. Please fix ASAP. This issue makes it very difficult to work with any previously built Illustrator files.

That's very strange with the tiny dot at the end of words. I've never seen that before; I wonder if that wasn't happening with the older versions. Perhaps that is the culprit.

This bug occurs in TrueType (.ttf) fonts. OpenType fonts (.otf) do not occur.
In v25.3.1, if you apply a line to the outline of a character and apply round caps, a strange dot will appear in spaces. In v25.3.1 there is a strange dot in space characters of the ttf font. Perhaps optical kerning treats this strange dot like a period, narrowing the space between letters.Japanese:
You definitely should package the file, including the font used, and send it to sharewithai@adobe.com for investigation, including your OS specs and both these images.

Illustrator 25.3.1Latest version (25.3.1) Messes up word spacing on all files created in earlier versions.
I reinstalled version 25.2.3 and the document displays the text correctly. I've attached examples of the same artwork in the 2 versions. Please fix!

Illustrator 25.3.1I recently updated my Illustrator to 25.3.1, and now when I go to edit the text in my files, I get the error, "This text was created in a different version of Illustrator. Editing the text may cause some changes to your text layout. Basic formatting will not be affected. Do you want to continue?"
I did some tests on the files to try to determine what is happening. It seems to be affecting text with Optical Kerning, and it is tightening up all the word spacing. With some fonts, it is almost to the point where the spaces are non-existent. This is a big problem, because it is drastically changing the text flow and wraps of all my files that are actively being reviewed for approval. The text that had its kerning set to Auto was unaffected.
