I agree. Their employees must be overworked or there is not enough quality control. Fewer updates with more thorough testing before release. I'm tired of being their ongoing beta tester. Software companies used to offer free use of beta products in exchange for beta testing, but now they just force the testing on to us while we pay egregiously high monthly fees to be able to RENT the perpetually broken software.
I'm going to be slowly moving all my work to Affinity. Their programs are beautiful, more complete, and ever improving. Additionally, Affinity offers FREE updates. If we all switch over, may Adobe will figure out that their model is broken.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 24.1.2 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

Same problem! It freezes when I use effects on a blend. I performed the same function on my less powerful work computer and had no problems. Very frustrating. I'm missing a competition deadline because of this.

This happens most probably because of the enabled PDF-compatibility option on save, which makes Ai write a PDF copy into the file along with the native Ai format. It helps to other apps to place and use the artwork inside, but it also makes the live raster effects to get rasterized, and it leads to size bloating.
Untick the 'Create PDF Compatible File' option and the file size will stay at 1-3 MB.

Hi Everyone, This feature has been available since August 2020 release (version 24.3). Please update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html Thank you for all the feedback.
You can now select multiple layers in Layers panel. Click the bars (they get highlighted blue) if you want to operate layers and not their content (e.g. to drag to reorder) or click their markers to select their content — circle (target ones) or square (selection ones) next to them. There is no real difference which to pick, but if you want to select a range of layers, using Shift, use target markers.

We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.

You can align to an object you choose to be the key one.. Click the object you want to use as a key the second time and Ai will use a bolder edge to highlight it.

I'm pretty happy with the key object function.
I have never had a problem using the shape builder tool before. I use it all the time, and the change is fast, if not instant. I’m using it on some letters right now, and each character takes 45 seconds to 1 minute to merge! This has got to be a bug. I don’t even recall seeing a loading bar for this tool before today.
