An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedDear Egor,
I have attached a file containing this behaviour in the original post: "Symbol-Reset.mov" or "Symbol-Reset-720.mov" (same file, resized). Can you see it?
In it, you can see 2 instances of the same symbol (a black rectangle called "Gare").
The one located on the map in the top left corner displays the "Reset" button ("Réinitialiser" in French), but the one located in the legend does not. I can only reset it by using the panel menu.

I have several instances of a Symbol on my Artboard, and each has been transformed.
Some of these instances display the "Reset" button when I select them, some others don't, and I have no choice but to use the Symbol panel. Why??!?
(I hope the vid is OK, I had to resize it.)

An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedChanging the Tint % of two objects filled with different colours (but same Tint %) erases Appearance too.
An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedIt does the same thing when I try to add Arrowheads or a dotted line, for exemple. Actually any action from the Stroke panel!

An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedIt would be nice if we could lengthen or shorten a path (say, along selected anchor point's tangent) by a set distance (or even >to< a set distance or size).
A bit like the Scale tool, but with absolute values instead of %.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.4.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedI have replicated this bug on a colleague's PC: the same happens on Windows 10 (same version of Illustrator 25.3.1).
The only workaround for now is to rename the duplicates in the Symbols panel (but not by adding a space and a number).
An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedHere's an example again, copy-pasting from one file to another.
It pastes the wrong symbol (red instead of white), and there's no way to reload the original white one from the library to replace it with the correct one.
I have temporarily hidden the outline so you can see better what's happening.
Sorry again for the bad quality, I can't upload anything heavier than 20Mb.
An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedI have to say, this is getting really annoying to have to work around this bug several times a day.
Not only does it impede workflow greatly, but it's a source of many errors if you're not paying attention to every little detail, simply when copy-pasting from a file to another!!

Let's say I have 3 symbols, A, B and C.
A is the original symbol in my external Symbol Library file (blue in the attached video)
B is that symbol, imported into my current file and modified (I changed it to green in the video)
C is a duplicate of B, in my current file, also modified (red in the video)When I copy C, I expect C to be pasted. But it's actually B.
(in the video, red is copied but green is pasted)Moreover, when I try to "reimport" the original A (blue) by clicking on it in my Symbol Library panel, it thinks it's already in the file, when in fact it's B. Or when I drag and drop it, it imports B onto the Artboard.
Which means that when I modify symbols (which I do all the time), I can't access the original anymore.
Is it a conflict because they have the same name? And no I don't want to rename my Bs and Cs everytime I modify a Symbol.
It used to work just fine as you expect it to in Illustrator 22. It's pretty annoying. ;-) -

It’s dangerous to call things Smart... When they behave dumb, the name sound like an insult. Sadly, this is the case.
Please provide more specific cases, with video proofs, ask you colleagues to share and vote, to move this further. This is the way to force changes to things that are broken — be vocal and persistent. Thank you all and let’s hope we get heard.
An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedI have recently updraded to Illustrator 25, and it's still not working as it should… :-(
An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedThe problem has come back, I think. I need to zoom in a lot to snap to the right point.
I don't want to delete my preferences again, it takes too long to set them back.An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedUpdate:
I've talked to an Adobe Support representative and he seems to have solved my issue by resetting my Illustrator preferences. An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedSince I cannot post a video in the reply, I have uploaded an example to my DropBox.
It shows a similar problem (which I think is related): pen tool snapping to another point than the one highlighted by the Smart Guides.Stéphanie Noverraz supported this idea · -

Adobe. Make It an Experience. An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedIllustrator 22.1 on Mac OS 10.13.6.
The anchor points are generally visible for all paths, except for two of them (unless I isolate each path).
I don't understand why. They are all single shapes, not groups. They seem to have exactly the same properties too.

We are able to reproduce this issue and it is currently under review.
An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedFor all of you who are following this thread:
I had a conversation with Mr. Gupta from support. He says it works if you switch on "Alignment Guides" in Preferences. It does, except I don't want alignement guides (they are too many and get in the way of everything IMO).
And so apparently it's a feature, not a bug (although I don't understand how it could help anyone to remove this function).
He said he'll transfer my feedback to the programming team though. Let's hope they change it back to the way it was in one of the future versions.
Below is a video of the bug.
An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedThanks Anish, I have sent a video to the e-mail you provided.
An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedIn my version, Command + H hides the current selection and doesn't help snapping on Text Area boxes.
An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedAlignment guides don't work on Text Area boxes either.

The issue seems to be fixed in the latest version of Illustrator.
Please try to test it and reply back if it works as expected for you.
An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedThanks Tim, I know. I'm saying it should work in the tab panel too!
An error occurred while saving the comment Stéphanie Noverraz commentedWell yes, using the Paragraph panel works. It's always worked.
There are always workarounds (setting left indent and first line indent back to 0 works eg), but they take time and more clicks.
I was reporting the bug because it should also work in the tab panel.

Thanks Egor.
I checked and yes it works (but takes significantly longer). I'll make a temporary custom shortcut while I wait for the bug fix.
For your information, this problem already existed in the previous version of Illustrator I was using (CC 2018 if I remember correctly).
