Can't see anchor point and handles of paths after breaking link to symbol.
- Version 21.1.0
- Draw the circle or any other simple shape, convert it to symbol then break link to symbol. Choose Direct selection tool and click on any anchor point. As result you will not see the handles of any point. The handles are shown only in isolation mode or outline mode but not in basic prewiew mode.

Illustrator 22.1 on Mac OS 10.13.6.
The anchor points are generally visible for all paths, except for two of them (unless I isolate each path).
I don't understand why. They are all single shapes, not groups. They seem to have exactly the same properties too.

This is broken again in v24.1.1. It's a bit different though.
After breaking the link to the symbol, you cannot see anchor points or even paths. With Smart Guides turned on, you can get pop-ups that indicate where an anchor point is, but you can't see the anchor point.
It's intermittent. Some symbols have the problem & some don't.
I understand about Hide Edges, but this is not related. -

I figured out this happened(all anchor pnt gone on object) because I made a symbol and then broke the link. But if I isolate the group it has anchor points again. There are still anchor points on new shapes.

I see this thread almost everywhere on different websites and platforms. I think I found the solution
Press Ctrl +Shift + H which is shortcut for "Show layer controls" or simply go to View > Show Layer Controls
You should now be able to use the anchor point.

If you have a file that you has symbols that you have had their links broken then been saved then the anchor points do not show up unless in outline or isolation mode. How do I fix these files?

It doesn't matter if you open in cc 2017 or cc 2018 its the same issue the anchor points are not visible unless you are in outline or isolation mode. Once again a bug that goes on and on.
