The solution is pushed into Global Availability build 28.6.
PDF is now available as type in File > Export > Export As dialog.
However, File > Adobe PDF Presets menu, similar to one InDesign has, to allow even quicker export, is absent still.
If you want to have it, please upvote this new request here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48670088

We have done further updates to Dimension tool with recently released version - 28.3
You can create and use your custom scale for dimension, hide or show units on dimensions and dimensions are now sticky to the object - they transform as well when you transform the object.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commented"NEED MORE INFO" What BS, buy a copy of CorelDraw you'll see what we want lol!
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedYOU DON'T NEED MORE INFO...............For goodness sake put in a multi-function dimension tool!!!!! Corel can do it, is your abiliy so far behind them that you struggle to understand your customers needs? Get rid of your snobby "illustrator" ideals and give us something to help us design with
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedThey don't want to appear to be a CAD package.......they still cling to the snobby "Illustrator" title as opposed to producing design orientated software
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedYou don't need more details............ Put in a dimension tool for us................ The jpg in the original post tells you everything you need to know. Plus radius/ diameter tools too.
Why so against a dimension tool guys? No one has ever answered that question as far as i know!An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedWe keep asking, whats the problem Adobe?????????????
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedWhy so reluctant to add this feature?
I really can't understand it.....An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedA dedicated dimension tool that can show, horizontal/ vertical/ angles and Diameters/ radius dimensions

Hi Everyone,
We have fixed this bug in our latest release – v 24.2.1 which is available worldwide now. Thanks for your patience on this.
Please note that after upgrading you might still see that Align To sets itself to Align to Key Object. If you see this, please manually set the Align To to the required setting, and this reported bug will not happen again. You’ll need to this one time only.
The reason Align To might get set to Key Object after update is because Ai remembers your last Align To on subsequent launches as well. So, if your last Align To was Key Object before quitting/upgrading, after first multi-selection, it will set itself to Key Object. After you manually change it one-time, it will work fine.

The maximal size of an artboard is limited by the canvas, which is limited to a 2^14 = 16384 points (16383, if you count from zero). It equals roughly to 227 inches or 577 millimeters.
Why this value? Because of math and a weighted decision the team had made long ago about storing coordinates, I assume.
Why is this still relevant? Because a lot of other stuff had been built upon this foundation. It’s extremely costly to make changes to this without making everything else crumble.
There is another request, now marked as completed, 'Remove Canvas Limit' — https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/20395555-remove-canvas-size-limit. To make it work, the team added an internal scale factor which allows 10x larger canvas, by removing one decimal space — which makes sense, since a user probably won’t need to deal with ten-thousands when working in tens of meters.
However, this request is still valid — but please…
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedIf CorelDraw can do this up to 50 meters why can't you guys?

Excited to share that the requested functionality is now available in the public builds starting from V 28.3.0.
WIth the new Enclosed Mode, you can now select ONLY those objects which are completely INSIDE the marquee.
To activate the Enclosed Mode, just press 'E' ONCE after you start doing the marquee with the Normal Selection Tool or Group Selection tool.
Please note that,
1. The button E acts as a toggle, which means you just have to press E once, to get into or out of the enclosed mode.
2. You have to press E only after doing the marquee, pressing E in empty canvas will invoke the Free Transform tool or the tool the shortcut 'E' is assigned to.
We made a lot of effort in building this capability, so please try it out and let us what you all think!

The latest Beta 29.2.38 now offers a way to see the distances between a selected object and an object hovered over / edges of an artboard.
- Click on the object you want to measure the distance from
- Press Opt/Alt and hover over the object that you want to measure distance to
- You can also hover over empty area to see the distance from the selected object and the artboard boundaries
Please try it and come back with the feedback.
