    All those who commented on the topic until October 16, 2023, are already added as voters there. If this is something you want to have for 3D and Materials in Illustrator — please upvote it. If possible — create new requests and bug reports about 3D, rather than commenting here inside. This will help the team to better prioritize efforts on making the feature better.     Can we have the ability to adjust the color and values for each light? And an option to select the ambient light color. Thanks.

    Thanks for clarifying. I don't see the point of having the global change of units in preferences. It just creates confusion and does not work as expected. Essentially, one should just ignore the preference setting and use the document setup to change units.

    Another area of confusion with units is the Properties palette. Selecting a different unit here only affect the local document, whilst changing other settings (Ruler & Grids, Guides, Use Preview Bounds, Scale Corners, Scale Strokes & Effects) are global changes.

    Also, if I chose another unit of measurement in Preferences, the Properties palette updates to show that unit of measurement. But if I chose a different unit of measurement in the Properties palette, the units don’t change in Preferences. This doesn’t work as expected.

    Egor, units in Preferences is millimeters and in Document Setup it's pixels.

    Hi Everyone,

    We have fixed this bug in our latest release – v 24.2.1 which is available worldwide now. Thanks for your patience on this.

    Please note that after upgrading you might still see that Align To sets itself to Align to Key Object. If you see this, please manually set the Align To to the required setting, and this reported bug will not happen again. You’ll need to this one time only.

    The reason Align To might get set to Key Object after update is because Ai remembers your last Align To on subsequent launches as well. So, if your last Align To was Key Object before quitting/upgrading, after first multi-selection, it will set itself to Key Object. After you manually change it one-time, it will work fine.

    I've been using the 24.3 update that came out a week ago and it seems to have finally fixed the alignment bug.

    Not fixed. Still doing weird unexpected alignment and spacing things. It doesn't honour the key object and spaces to other random objects in selection. v24.2.3.

    There is no true PDF Export in Illustrator, because Illustrator allows to have editable PDFs with .ai-content stored within. Other apps does not allow that, and some users heavily rely on editable PDFs.

    Attemps to solve this were made, but there is no clear solution so far. Still we hope to find one.

    The intended way to get a PDF (without loosing your data) at the moment would be to use Save a Copy command that saves a separate copy of your file to PDF instead of Save As which keeps a saved file open.

    I agree. Save as PDF should be only available as an Export option.
