An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedI just can't believe this is an actual issue in Illustrator. I can't save print files from an action because of this nonsense!

Dear Users,
We have launched this feature in the latest release of Illustrator, 24.2. I request you to try out this feature and give us your feedback.
Thanks,
SanjitAn error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedRobin- Start a document larger than 227 inches
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commented"Anonymous" This is the top feature request and a major limitation for the large format industry (which has a market size of approximately 45 billion dollars and should exceed your .0001% estimate of users)
An anonymous comment calling this feature request "useless commenting" is what is actually useless commenting.
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedAnon, You probably want to clear any guides that extend to the canvas limit or hidden objects grouped into what you're scaling.
Objects falling off the drawing area is a real pain with Illustrators archaic canvas limitations
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedThe engineers at Adobe just do not care as it only adds more work for them and the company's corporate decision makers rely on their huge market share.
They're more focused on gaining ground in other markets with the ridiculous collaborative apps that they keep adding/killing and promoting their idiotic events.
Adobe has no incentive to add real requested features or fix its outdated core programs. They just are not the company for creators anymore.
Your only real alternative is to switch to a company like Serif that make Affinity Designer and Photo. They do actually listen to their community and it's so refreshing!
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedFirst: I am the printer and the designer. Illustrator cut off the artwork with it's inability to properly handle large scale output.
The logic of blaming the customer for product shortcomings has never worked from a business stand point. Adobe should have extended this a decade ago when 64 bit processors were becoming common, instead of lagging behind.
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedWhere do I send the bill for $724.00 for the print error caused by adobe's inability to scale large format?
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedI think Serif (Affinty Designer) is going to do to Adobe what Adobe did to QuarkXpress with inDesign. Every update recently seems to only bring issues and not address the decades long complaints or requests.
Why doesn't Adobe seem to have the ability to extend the canvas when 64-bit has been common place for so long? Why doesn't Illustrator have color manipulation similar to photoshop, but a plug-in like Phantasm can do it?? Why can't adobe find a simple centerline of a shape or font? Why can't adobe create a vector oblique projection?
Because they're focused on changing the rotation dialogue box...
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedI can't even remember how many times that I've worked with people that confused 1:10 scale to 1:12 scale (1 foot = 1 inch) or vice versa to the tune of thousands in misprinted materials.
There are other annoyances with canvas limitations that I don't see mentioned, like copy pasting with a guide line that extends the length of the canvas "Can't paste because some of the artwork falls off the canvas" error ><
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commented@Yasmim Not with Illustrator. But every other vector based design software does not have this archaic limitation. Affinity Designer is a great alternative, Corel draw has been around for years as well as any industry specific software.
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedI've been asking this for 20 years lol. Adobe hates the large and grand format industry. If they only knew how much they've cost me over the years in scaling issues.

Adobe Illustrator's Multithreading Journey Begins!
Dear Illustrator Community,
I'm thrilled to announce that we've embarked on an exciting journey to bring multithreading capabilities to Adobe Illustrator. This significant undertaking will enhance performance and responsiveness across various aspects of the application.
While this is a complex process that will take some time to fully implement, I wanted to share our progress so far.
Our Approach
We've strategically begun by focusing on the most computationally intensive operations—those that typically take more time and block the main thread, resulting in slower response times while you work. By moving these operations to separate threads, we aim to significantly improve your overall experience with Illustrator.
It's important to note that you may see more noticeable impact in some areas than others initially. However, we want to assure you that this is just the beginning, and we will continue this journey to bring improvements across…
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedDaniel, if you change your working dpi: Effects/Document Raster effects.../100 ppi Your life is going to be a whole better in wide format.
For interior wall signage/tradeshow I personally stick to 300, but that never gets to the physical sizes of exterior.
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedDaniel, you need to to set your raster effects down 100 ppi. 600 is not for large format. 300 dpi is for less than a meter of intended viewing distance.
That's the only reason you're getting those huge file sizes and it is not improving the quality of your rooftop sign design.
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedYou can now link ai files inside illustrator files so that you wouldn't need to even touch Id. Have a composing ai linking to all of the ai/psd assets.
But whatever your workflow adobe should be utilizing multi core CPUs in Illustrator. I have 16 cores that are begging to be pushed.

We have done further updates to Dimension tool with recently released version - 28.3
You can create and use your custom scale for dimension, hide or show units on dimensions and dimensions are now sticky to the object - they transform as well when you transform the object.
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedI'm not sure if someone has mentioned this, but Astute graphics has a plugin called VectorScribe that adds measurements for this exact application. They have a lot of plugins at Astute that should be standard features of illy (like Phantasm)

Adobe. Make It an Experience. An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedHow is this not fixed yet??
An error occurred while saving the comment Mike commentedI usually hit r, enter, the degrees I want to rotate and enter. A temporary work-around until they fix this is hitting r, enter, tab, Shift+tab to get to the dialog box then the degrees, enter.
Of course the additional steps will be in my muscle memory when they fix which will trip me up again...

I get this bug when running actions with Save As. It randomly makes blank numbered pngs in the destination folder.
