Freeze on First File Opened if it has Missing Fonts
Illustrator CC version 22.1
OS: Windows 10 Pro, version 1803
1) Launch Illustrator
2) Open Ai file
3) If the first file I open after launching Ai has missing fonts the program freezes before it populates the missing fonts dialogue box. I have to force quit the application from task manager and relaunch.
Any subsequent files that are opened after the first file do not have this issue regardless of missing fonts. I am currently working around this issue by opening a file that I know has no missing fonts first before I'm able to open any files that may have missing fonts.

@Tuan, sure I don’t think like that. More of it, I am against having this option in this dialog only, for this exact reason — it can freeze. I even talked with a developer about it, but don’t have any news.
What version do you have? If it’s higher than 23, than it’d be a reason to change the status of this report back. -

Egor, you think you can still click on the left bottom corner to disable it when illustrator is freeze and the only way is CTRL ALT DELETE?

@Sharif, for general questions like this I recommend using Adobe Illustrator Support Community instead: community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator/ct-p/ct-illustrator
But actually the dialog has an option in its left bottom corner, 'Don’t Show on Document Open'. Enable it and it should work and stop showing you this on a opening a file. -

This seems to be resolved for me as of version 24! I haven't had the issue since upgrading to Illustrator 2020. Awesome to see that there's some cool stuff going on with Illustrator that helps with file saving as well.

Hi I found a way to fix this. You have to successfully open another file first. Find another ai file. Then open the ai file this time. That fix the problem.
