The team plans to push the fix from the Beta build into the main one in first week of January — hooray!
The current workaround in 29.1 is to disable Missing Glyph Protection option in Preferences > Type.

Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.

An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Rob commented@Ankit, is the official 26.2 build released yet? I see it here but not available to download via CC.
An error occurred while saving the comment Rob commentedI also received the email from Adobe RE the pre-release Beta. Personally I'm too worried that that could potentially lead to more issues so I'm just resigning myself to dealing with the bugs from 26.1 until they release the official update.
An error occurred while saving the comment Rob commented@adobe—any updates on this?? This is having a significant impact on my work. I know this doesn't pertain to whoever reads this, but if you're going to make us pay rent for the rest of our lives, the least you could do is not break our tools.
An error occurred while saving the comment Rob commentedSame exact behavior over here as well.

MacOS Big Sur 11.6.4Rob supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Rob commentedI'm experiencing the same exact thing. It also seems like maybe illustrator is treating any drag/move as if ALT is also being held; I'm seeing the little green "+" icon popup when this issue occurs.
Also this glitch seems particularly crazy when dragging/scaling artboards.

Having the same issue here. No green cursor, but extremely frustrating drag behavior. I even reverted to 26.3.1 but the issue is still there.
