Mouse click sticking
This problem only seems to happen in Illustrator. I have not seen this issue when I use Photoshop.
Clicking with the mouse, does not always work as expected. It is almost like there is a long delay before the release is detected, resulting in a drag operation. Sometimes I see the spinner appear after I click. I have tried a different mouse, same issue. In the video, I am only ever doing a quick click, without moving the mouse.
Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
Thanks & Regards,

Same issue. When releasing a click on a Magic Trackpad 2 on my mac, that action is not immediately detected. There seems to be about a 1/2 second delay every time. So, if I select an object and then immediately move my mouse to go to a tool panel, my mouse gets about halfway across the canvas, and then the object that I had selected immediately teleports to the path of my mouse because Illustrator had just barely recognized the click release of the mouse. It's so freaking frustrating and every edit is slowed down.
Here are my details:
Apple MacBook Pro, 16 inch, 2021
Memory: 32 GB
macOS: Sonoma 14.3.1Trackpad: Magic Trackpad, version 1.9.2
Illustrator version: 28.2

Disabling the magnet Mac app helped for me. I've been looking for a solution for about a month. I found the solution via this reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/AdobeIllustrator/comments/1anlwe0/illustrator_objects_sticking_to_the_mouse_cursor/?rdt=44407

I've come across this same problem in the last week. It's killing my work. This is on a Mac running 14.3 and the latest CC version of Illustrator. Things are fine in ALL my other software.

Its 2022. Is there anyone who knows exactly why this issue arises? My mouse works perfectly outside the Illustrator.. infact, I took the mouse click test on https://cpstest.pro to see if mouse has any issue, but thats not the case. The only solution I have is to put the system to sleep and then start again.

My issue is solved. I contact to customer care and one technical person helped me taking remote excess solving this issue.
There is some issue with the user which I logged-in on my Mac. After deleting that user and creating a new user fix this issue.
Thanks for the support. -

I found a solution. On my MacBook if I turn off dictation, the problem disappears. I turn it back on, problem comes back. May not work for all, but it worked for me.

It's 2019! Has anybody resolved this!?!? I've quit using Illustrator altogether since the problem is so severe. I've been an Illustrator user for over 20 years but this is unusable and extremely frustrating. I about snapped my laptop in half over it.

Exact same problem. I delete and clear the prefrences and it works for about a minute or two and right back to the same problem. I've had to hire someone to do simple shifts for me. ADOBE, we need help!

I've been dealing with this forever. It only happens on my Macbook. When I switch to my iMac it works as expected. But, it happens with the trackpad, the magic mouse, and ordinary run-of-the-mill usb mice. It's frustrating because my clicks are constantly interpreted as click+drags, and I end up moving artwork out of place at worst, or waiting several seconds for Illustrator to catch up at best.

I also have the same problem and this is very irritating. It takes lot more time to do simple things. Please suggest some resolution for this problem.

Same problem. has anyone found resolution? This is annoying and makes the software almost useless.

I have this exact problem and it is very frustrating. Almost every function requires a second mouse click to get Illustrator to recognize the mouse click. This happens only in Illustrator. I do not see this problem in Photoshop or other programs. Happens with my mouse, trackpad or graphics tablet.

I have the same issue, but it's happened in previous versions of CC, also. I assumed it was just a speed thing... wondering if you've had any luck getting it to clear up?

Not sure if this helps, but I do see tailspind running while I see the spinner after clicking on Activity Monitor. Any idea what is going one? I do not see this with other applications.
