    I'd argue this is a BUG and not a feature request.

    Try drag & drop an image from a browser - the result it even worse!

    As a web developer I often want to get web images into my documents. When I drag and drop from a browser on Windows, the URL is imported as text which is useless.

    Copy & paste works but PNG transparency comes in with a black background which is usually not workable wither.

    The workaround is to copy the URL and use File > Place and paste the URL in to the address bar. Windows then downloads the image and places it in the document but this process takes 30 seconds which is a big interruption to a workflow.

    We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.

    We have done further updates to Dimension tool with recently released version - 28.3


    You can create and use your custom scale for dimension, hide or show units on dimensions and dimensions are now sticky to the object - they transform as well when you transform the object.

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 26.3.1 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

    This feature is cool for print work but it's a disaster for screen work like web design. If the document units are set to pixels, this should be automatically disabled. Otherwise we cant preview what our work will look like on a screen!

    In CC 2019 (latest update 23.0.1), at 100% Zoom 1inch artwork would display at 1inch in physical (Print) size, on any display. If this doesn’t work right for screen design workflows, please use the checkbox Preferences > General > Display Print Size at 100% Zoom, to turn off the feature. Currently this feature works only on primary display, and there are plans of extending this to other attached displays.

    For print work this is very cool but for web work it's a disaster. This feature needs to be automatically disabled if the document units are set to pixels. Otherwise we can't see what our designs will look like on a screen!
