Allowance to change the keyboard shortcuts for Previous Artboard and Next Artboard
I have all of my keyboard shortcuts set to the left side of the keyboard, since I draw right-handed and keep my left hand on that side of the keys. In my animation workflow, I like to scrub back and forth quickly between artboards, but I do not like the current LOCKED shortcuts for going back and forth through them:
Previous Artboard (Currently locked to Shift-PgUp)
Next Artboard (Currently locked to Shift-PgDn)
First Artboard (Currently locked to Ctrl-Shift-PgUp)

Don't automatically lock new template layers
It would be useful when creating a new template layer it did not immediately become locked. Usually, I would want to put items on this layer like notes or reference marks, but unlocking the layer seems like an unnecessary step for a layer that has just been created.

Remove the default 72 PPI resolution
There is NO device on Earth (except in museums) that have 72 PPI screen.
However, EVERY new screen-intended document created today in Illustrator and Photoshop STILL made with only 72 PPI by default.With this laughable resolution, all raster effects are rendered, looking just bad on any screen.
Since 72 PPI is the actual World Standard, it confuses many Adobe users and it has to be changed for good.
Today's computer screens have at the very least 120 PPI, but the phones for which many projects are created have a way higher pixel density of 450 PPI and more. The…

Ability to duplicate artboards with Cmd+D
It would be nice if once you alt+drag an artboard in order to make a copy, you can keep duplicating the artboard with the same displacement, just pressing Cmd+D.
As it happens when you do it with a form or an image.

Show gridlines in outline view
If "Show Grid" is activated, in Outline View, the grid is mostly invisible. It only leaves very subtle dotted lines along the major grid lines, but the subdivision grid lines aren't visible.
It would be nice to see some faint lines of the subdivision grid lines in outline view so when I'm zooming in very close, those lines don't disappear.

Complete user-defined default settings
The work I do for my company has certain defaults that go beyond the layout of my workspace. I only use one font, I always need the same set of color swatches, I use the same tolerance amounts, etc. I export to PDFs the same way every time, I essentially need the same options. (And even with a template, I have to start from scratch for many of these options.)
While I can save certain usual elements in my CC Library, I waste so much time saving and opening and searching. AND even then, I still have to reset the…

Adding Pages/Sheets like in Excel for better organization of large jobs
Adding Pages/Sheets like in Excel for better organization of large jobs. I work at a sign company and frequently come across large jobs that I would like to keep organized.
For example let's use a job I am on right now. It is a job for hospital signage. Over 500 signs in total and let's say 15 departments. Some departments have upto 20 signs. While artboards work well in this instance it would be nice if I could have the option to organize the departments with "sheets" instead of individual files. Make option for new artboards to track their names based on existing artboards
Create 2 artboards.
Delete second one.
Create new artboard—the name will be 'Artboard 3'.This is very-very inconvenient most of the times.
Make it behave as Layers behave both in PS and AI!

A 3D presentation of layers and of artboards would deconstruct the fusion of all those into one 2D screen. Gaming software does iit.

Make artboards searchable in finder
Make artboards searchable in finder. If I would like to search for a specific Page/artboard.
Example:
Search: Order3 = file: Order2019 will appear in finder as that artboard named Order_3 are located in that file.File Name: Order2019

In version 24.02 problems with the file information
Hello, in Illustrator version 24.02 I have problems with the file information. Now the title is not saved anymore, I always have to enter it afterwards via Bridge. Also the creation date is no longer saved in the EPS files. When I enter this via Bridge, I always get an error message: "There is a problem with the file. "
It would be great if you could change this.

Locking and unlocking objects on a current artboard only
Discussed in our team is the annoying way Illustrator unlocks EVERYTHING on the pasteboard - why can unlocking be isolated to the artboard you are working on? Like indesign. I use locked objects a lot when I am creating concepts and use layers when creating final artwork. Using layers slows down the way you work.

Insert a new artboard in a specific order position
I usually work with a lot of artboards around 100 per file.
I would like the possibility to enter the number of the position of the artboard!The problem consist when I have a lot or artboards and I create a new one it is the last in artboard panel. Then I need to drag it up to the preferred order position. If it needs to be in the third place I need a lot of scrolling up!

Make an option to disable auto-selection of artboards, when clicked inside
AI now selects artboard whenever mouse is clicked within in (with any tool). While it's a great general behaviour, I'd like to be able to disable it.
I have to work with overlapping artboards (which, by the way, sometimes prevent AI from correctly selecting the artboard clicked—it depends on artboards' order). When object is copied, AI remembers it's coordinates. Then, when I go to the object I need to place my copied art over and press Ctrl+F, AI pastes the object in the same coordinates. Advanced Rename Tools for Artboards with Find & Replace
Would love to have a feature that allows a mass-rename feature to artboards the same way you can rename files in Mac OS: Add Text, Replace Text, Format. As a designer who exports many artboards for the web and is constantly renaming file version numbers for easy export - this would be a dream!
