  1. Implement quick filter in Layers panel

    On large documents designers very often give names to objects in document structure for improve navigation in structure. But now there are no way to quickly find object by name in document, except custom scripts.

    For solve this problem please implement quick filter input field in Layers panel interface, for quickly search objects by part of his name (like filter in Fonts list).

    Even if designer don't add names, via this filter we will can quick find all curves, all rectangles, all circles, all curves, all guides, etc, so it will be very useful.

    Hi Everyone,

    This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1. 


    The new functionality allows searching layers by name using the searchbar in the layers panel. The users can also apply filters based on layer properties (locked, hidden etc) or objects properties (effects, text etc.). This will help to quickly find layers/objects for large documents (having multiple layers).

  2. Remove "Move" limitation from Transform Each & Transform Effect

    When moving items via "Transform Each", objects are limited to moving 55.555". However, when moving objects with Move (Object - Transform - Move), no such limitation exists (Issue is prevalent in V24.0.1, 23 & CS6)
    The same limit exists for Transform Effect.
    My request is for the removal of this limitation to allow for accurate artwork creation.

  3. Preferences User Interface UI Scaling: Drop down menu list needs to scale too.

    Drop down menu text is too small/light to tell if an item is unavailable (grayed out) I thought if I increased the UI Scaling the dropdown menu items would also appear larger.

  4. Don't snap to where I'm dragging from.

    Even when I turn on snapping, if I drag an object away from it's location, I want the object to not end up in it's old location. Otherwise I would not have started dragging it.

    Therefore, stop making the original location available a snap target. As a movement / cardinal direction target, sure. Not as a "return to where you're from" target, this makes no sense.

  5. Remove Onboarding features as they get in the way of me trying to do my job

    It can be extremely frustrating to have popover windows introduce features or to say "hey let's start designing". I'm already trying to design by firing up illustrator and opening a file. I'm busy and just need to get some work done for a deadline. I don't need you asking the obvious or interrupting me from completing my job.

    I get that you want to help me know that new features exist, but please, please, do that in a way that doesn't force me to acknowledge your popover when I open up a file that already exists. Or even if i…

  6. “Clipping path limit reached for TIFF preview" dialog.

    Please add a checkbox with the "Do not show" option in the “Clipping path limit reached for TIFF preview" dialog. This comes up hourly in my company's workflow and the only option given is "Ok". Thank you.

  7. Add dividers/separators to custom tools panel (or enable stacking/docking them vertically)

    It would be nice to be able to visually separate tool groups in custom toolbars since there is no way to stack them vertically. Think "groups" in Microsoft Office apps' "ribbon". We can currently only...

    A) Mash all of our tools into one toolbar, with no means of visual organization apart from the order in which they appear (I don't count stacking the tools as "visual organization", since I cannot see them).

    B) Snap multiple toolbars together, but not while docked to edge of UI. They will not be movable together like this, and other UI elements can overlap them.…

  8. Align/distribute to angle

    It would be so cool if you could align/distribute objects on an angle. Say for example I want to align objects to a 45 degree angle, instead of aligning to the highest/lowest point, or to the left or right.

  9. Wider Vertical Ruler ?

    Is it possible to get a wider vertical ruler? The numbers are awkward to read and slows you down.

    Just wide enough for the numbers to read horizontally instead of from top to bottom.

    It's just impossible to easily find individual measurements if they go to more than two digits.

    This looks like there is an error in the UI.

    Basically the 'Circle by Points Tool' in Subscribe should be a functionality added to the Ellipse Tool. And the 'Arch by Points Tool' in Subscribe should be a functionality added to the 'Line Segment Tool' in Ai as well. These are common functions in in cad programs and need to be added to Illustrator natively to improve vector building.

  11. Option for Smart guides to ignore objects outside isolation

    Sometimes you want to isolate certain objects to not mess with everything else. Unfortunatelly, you can't isolate parts of different groups (but that is the other topic—'making isolation more like 'solo' in AE). But even when you have isolated something, Smart Guides still want to snap to objects other then you want to work with. Sometimes it's fine, yeah, but mostly I want SG to ignore everything else but isolated stuff. Please make a tick somewhere for this.

    The latest Beta now has a dedicated option for this in Preferences > Smart Guides section, in Limit Snapping area. We can now choose if we want to Snap to Isolated Objects ('...only, when isolated' — the name is not clear at the moment).

    This is a WIP feature, and the team desperately needs your feedback on it. Please test it and comment if it works as expected (or not).

  12. always auto alignment / scale to fit to artboard for dragging in assets

    when drag in assets, able to pop up selection to tick, able to remember the settings and able to unable it at preference settings.

    below is the option.

    [ always auto align center artboard ]
    * able to select alignment point for example top left, bottom right etc

    [ always scale to fit artboard ]

    [ always scale to certain percentage ]

    main purpose - to further shorten working time

  13. Relink all images, using the 2nd page of the pdf to be replaced.

    Hello everyone! I'm having a problem that takes me a lot of time. I need to make relinks of several (many) images. Usually these images are .pdf and have 2 pages. Is it possible to be able to relink all images simultaneously, using the second page of the .pdf?

  14. Save as multiple files in AI format

    Only me who wants to save multiple files, in AI-format, from one document full of many pages? As it is today one can only check "Use pages" and choose page numbers if format EPS, PDF and SVG is picked. I find AI better to import into After Effects than EPS. That's why I want to save multiple files in AI format. Haven't tried SVG though... does SVG work in After Effects?

  15. Allow to drag CC Library items directly to Asset Export panel

    I've just finished dragging 24 logo variations to the CC libraries pane and named each individually.

    Now I want to export each of these in various formats, but I can't drag directly from the CC Libraries pane to the Asset Export pane.

    Instead, I have to rename every single one manually when dragging all 24 into the asset export pane.

    What a pane!

  16. Allow drag and drop of cropped images like InDesign does

    It will be great time saving if i can quickly replace an image just by dragging and dropping an image into a frame of a cropped image like i can do in InDesign. I too slow to have to look for the new link of the image open finder search thumbnails, etc. Could that be possible?

    No matter what dialog window we are currently in, we should be able to zoom in and out and pan the artboard.

  20. Convert Text to outline now only works with Acrobat 4, Plz make it possible with all acrobat version.

    Text to outline while exporting to PDF now only works with Acrobat 4, Plz make it possible with all acrobat version. Saving in Acrobat 4 will lose transparency and effects
