Right click on a transform to copy/paste position/angle/widht&height of objects separately
I would love it if I could copy the position etc. from one object to another without having to copy paste each property individually.

Larger preview images in .ai files
When an .ai file is saved, an image of all the active artboards is saved in the file. The OS (Mac or PC) uses this to provide a PREVIEW of the contents of the .ai file.
(a) This preview is terribly small, and displays as a small thumbnail instead of a useful image of the file contents. It appears to be a tiny bitmap, but it's so small it doesn't do much good at revealing what's in the file.

Ability to sort the font list(s) in Find Fonts dialog box
It would be helpful if the fonts in the Find Fonts dialog box could be sorted alphabetically. In my case, I am trying to consolidate all the various helvetica fonts that are being used in a large document to one foundry. As it is, they are all over the place, I think sorted by first use? but it would be helfpuf if I could sort by name, that way all my helveticas will be close to each other. Regardless, if the could be sorted that would be handy.

fix the Layers palette; modernize it.
The layers Palette in Illustrator Predates most Design apps out there. Because of that, many of its behaviors are critically out dated and in great need of a top - bottom update.
some critical things to fix:
1. Selection tracking should be unified. Selecting in the Layers palette should ALSO select the elements in the document. Throw away the confusing 2nd step there.naming. make it more flexible. IE: add built in options for the renaming that occurs when you copy a Layer. Add the ability to rename selected layers with one text entry. Add to that, a simple Scripting…

Fix Lines in Pattern designs when saved via Export for Screens.
When I export designs (via Export for screens) with patterns that have either been expanded or not I find that I get verticle and horizontal lines in my pattern. This is not present in the app, only on the resulting PDF/JPG/PNG exported file. I found this doesn't not happen when using the legacy Save for Web option. This is not an AA issue. Both are set to art optimized and the results are very different.

More usable Layers panel
Can we have the Layers panel open like Adobe XD (aids renaming and hiding/locking)?
I would appreciate if the panel could make it easier to name and select layers. For example, if I have an item in the artboard selected, I don't need to select the little blue dot (see attached photo) for it to register that it's actually selected on the artboard, especially if I'm selecting more than one item. I end up having to hold Shift to select the Layers in the panel, and then clicking again on EVERY blue icon to select the items on the artboard…

New document without symbols, brushes, graphic styles
New documents are pre-filled with unwanted symbols, brushes and graphic styles that bloat the documents. I always have to go in and delete these to keep file size down, especially when saving as EPS for logos, etc.

Please allow to flip artboards
Allow to flip artboards just like vector shapes vertically or horizontally, no more having to enter the opposite measures on each size field.

Auto back up does not work and it should. Everything is set correctly and I use Jing - however it's set as once an hour for a back up
File back up for crashes needs to work as per the settings. If it set to back up every 2 mins - then where are the files? They don't seem to exist - not like In Design where my last file is brought back.

Button to reveal a Layer on "Layer window"
Is there a possibility to create a right-clic option to "reveal on Layer window" from any object? Sometimes when I receive some .ai files, everything is un-organized and must travel over layers and layers... This option is in After Effects and is very helpful.

Improved curve tools: splines
I think curve drawing in illustrator could learn a lot from 3d design software like Fusion360 but particularly Rhino: the options to draw curves there are very very advanced and allow for extreme precision and manipulability

Can we have master artboards for Illustrator, the way we do for In Design??
I do so much illustration on my projects that it's not practical to use In Design for layout, so I use Illustrator for everything and it's almost perfect. The one thing I find I'm consistently missing is the ability to assign templates to certain artboards (like a master artboard.) I can't use "paste to all artboards" for this, because often I am doing book format with A/B. Sometimes, I'm doing student/teacher guides where the looks need to be differentiated.
Can we get the ability to assign some artboards to another so that they can update dynamically if we change them…

Artboard Dimension Limitation
One of the biggest complaints we hear from our franchisees is the artboard limitation of 227.541". Why is that the limit? Corel doesn't have a limit. Why Adobe? and why such an obscure number? I realize there is a PDF limitation of 200" so that is another issue.
16 votesThe maximal size of an artboard is limited by the canvas, which is limited to a 2^14 = 16384 points (16383, if you count from zero). It equals roughly to 227 inches or 577 millimeters.
Why this value? Because of math and a weighted decision the team had made long ago about storing coordinates, I assume.
Why is this still relevant? Because a lot of other stuff had been built upon this foundation. It’s extremely costly to make changes to this without making everything else crumble.
There is another request, now marked as completed, 'Remove Canvas Limit' — https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/20395555-remove-canvas-size-limit. To make it work, the team added an internal scale factor which allows 10x larger canvas, by removing one decimal space — which makes sense, since a user probably won’t need to deal with ten-thousands when working in tens of meters.

Artboard Textures
Textured artboard choice, ie canvas, wood, concrete, liquid etc.
When new drawings happen all the work reacts according to the artboard type, ie lineworks degrade if on a canvas texture. I know this can be simulated afterwards but the linework or colour fills don’t degrade accurately, it’s more a superimposition.
I also realise this would take an awful lot of computing power!

Access to sub-layers has disappeared.
Not sure if this is happening to everyone, but the arrows to access my sublayers have gone missing... and the ability to GET to my sublayers went with.
I have updated, uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted... and it persists.
Thoughts?

Please give the option to keep Libraries palette open when you close all of your documents. I often start work with an asset in my library.
Please give us the option to keep the libraries palette open when all documents are closed. I often start work with items in my library and it is annoying to have to reopen the palette when I close the project I just finished and am ready to start a new one.
