  1. the ability to zoom in on the gradient panel for complex gradients

    the ability to zoom in on the gradient panel for complex gradients. If I am creating a gradient some time I feel like I need to zoom into the panel so I can ensure I get the color pointers as accurate as possible

  2. Add Transparency Preset Option on Script

    Transparency Preset like [Medium Resolution] and [High Resolution] are able to be setted on Normal Illustrator Dialogue, but it is not able to setted on Scripting.

    My company and job is hoping this feature added badly…

  3. Multi panels for "Layer Panel"

    in case of more than 50 layers it difficult to move top layer under button layers. as we need to do scrolling

    Ability to open multi panel can enhance that work flow and make easy to move layer under other layers by moving one layer from first panel into second layer panel.

  4. composing font for Chinese font

    I have checked and verified at my end that this composition is not fully supported in Illustrator yet and only available for Japanese fonts.
    I hope that would fully supported in Illustrator available for Chinese fonts.

  5. Paint Brush Fidelity

    Old illustrator use to let you change the paint brush fidelity with decimal increments. Now there are just 5 options. Can adobe please just change the slider so we can have more options to choose from? The jumps in fidelity options are just too big and it makes drawing a pain.

  6. Update Actions to record more features

    In order of importance would love to see illustrator actions record

    1) the pdf preset, when saving to pdf
    2) save as location next to existing file as an option - i currently save to desktop and manually move the file.
    3) layer name when cut copying pasting, selecting all
    4) find font to not need the font loaded to work. We use this to eradicate old type 1 fonts that are buggy and crash computer.
    5) new swatch to remember the global swatch name when recording.

  7. Hold middle mouse button to move camera

    This would be better option by default than present Space + Left mouse button combo like in Adobe XD.

  8. Free transform reference point should affect resize too not just rotation (as PS)

    When I change the reference point I use it mostly for resize, not rotation. But in Illustrator this has no effect. I believe it should happen while using Alt+resize as that wouldn't change the default. Alt would only change the position of the resized object if the reference point is moved from the middle.
    I feel this would be natural to have and I'm really surprised this is not part of the free transform implementation. Photoshop and even Animate works like this! (Animate is erroneous with Alt+drag, but you don't need to hold that there)

  10. Faux Italics

    It would save time & Photoshop, InDesign, and rich text editors can skew a regular font that does not have an italic weight.

  11. Keyboard shortcut for Properties panel

    There is a keyboard shortcut to go to any other windows option except this.. I don't know if it is because it is a new feature, but this should really be implemented... Can there be a mappable keyboard shortcut for the new properties panel on illustrator

  12. Duplicate Layers with sequential numbering rather than "copy"

    When you duplicate a layer it would be much better if, rather than the XXXX copy suffix the duplicate layer was numbered. And preferably numbered XXX_0001 (or a format one could specify in the Preferences). This would make working with layers much much easier - especially when working with After Effects.

  13. Make Spiral as a live shape, editable after it has been drawn

    It could be useful to have an option for adding segments, or changing decay, especially if it serves as a path for text.

  14. The ability to check an option for "convert lines to shapes" when I export different formats

    When exporting a file to SVG.... I wish there was a check box where I can specify it converts all lines to shapes on export to SVG... This way I do not have to do the conversion manually... and then revert back when I save ai version...

    Often I get messages that distract me and then I forget to revert back and accidentally save the ai version with lines as shapes... then my mast ai version gets messed up...

    Hi Steve,

    Thanks a lot for reporting the feature request. When you say shape do you mean you want lines to get converted to SVG elements? Does this apply to the other shapes like, ellipse, circle or rectangles as well?

  15. Artboard preview in Save dialog

    In the theme of "recognition over recall," it would be great if the Save dialog allowed you to preview artboards the way the Print dialog does. When I'm working fast I don't always remember to stop and jot down the numbers of the specific artboards I need to export, and it's annoying to have to exit the save dialog, find the numbers, go back to the save dialog, repeat any necessary steps such as setting file name and location, THEN enter my desired artboard number(s) before moving forward. Having the artboard preview as part of the save window would cut…

  16. Add "Edit With" to the Illustrator menu when working with images

    Add "Edit With" to the Illustrator menu when working with images! Indesign has this and it's very convenient. Its a no brainer to add it to Illustrator!!!!!!!

    This is done in one of the latest releases.
    Now the button in Control panel (and in Links panel menu) says ‘Edit in Photoshop’. You also can change it back to system defaults in Preferences > File Handling section.

    InDesign has more options, that is true, so please comment back if you need a larger list — but please give a solid justification why :)

  17. Importing color codes

    It would be great if we could import hex codes (or rgb etc.) as a large batch-- it would really speed up workflow. If instead of manually having to type in 20+ color codes (with the possibility of a mistake), I could import a list of them, that would be awesome!

  18. Alignment tools can use reference/center point of an object instead of edges

    I think it would be great if objects in illustrator were treated as such - with edges, but also with a center point.

    Aligning/rotating solely based on edges is extremely limited.

    If an "Object point of reference" option was added, selecting several objects and rotating them all could result in them rotating around their center rather than the center of the group of objects.

    Same with aligning and distribution... this is a feature that often blocks me and seems long overdue, I'm not sure why it's not more obvious for other users!

  19. Impossible to link a psb file

    Illustrator 22.1.0 (CC2018) is now unable to import a linked PSB file…
    Please fix it quick.

  20. CC Libraries import - unnecessary extra clicks and groups.

    In the previous version, to bring a library element in you simple alt-dragged it and, upon releasing it, it would be in. Now there's an extra click to place the thing, which is totally unnecessary and annoying.

    Also, library items appear inside a group which isn't in the file itself. Also unnecessary and annoying. Please set these features back to how they were before (just a simple alt-drag-release to place a library item, and no extra grouping).
