  1. Smooth Tool slider applies to a partial selection. Make a way to quickly apply it to the full selection

    According to Madelyn Renaud (form here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/938463/suggestions/46987777):

    'I also have not been able to find the option for a global selection vs local, so the tool continues to isolate a single edge, forcing me to return to the selection tool and re-select the other elements to begin smoothing again. It's horrible and has made a smooth workflow into something clunky and annoying. Please change the smooth tool back to the way it was before!'

  2. Display artboard captions when exporting artboards

    Every time when i have multiple artboards and hit Save As, Ii don't know exactly which artboards i want to include, cause i don't know the specific number.
    So i go back out of the save as dialog, pick the Artboard Tool and save again, now able to see which numbers i want to include. I would be less time consumption if it would show the numbers of the artboards always no matter which tool is selected, when there is a save as or export dialog started.

  3. An option to hide the HEX field in Color or make it pop in RGB/HSB only

    Starting version 27.6.1, we are given a permanent HEX field in Color panel, following these two request:

    But some users do not like seeing it all the time and would like to be able to disable it, or at least pop only for RGB and HSB only.

    Please add this option into Color panel’s flyout menu.

  4. Multiple Libraries Open and Docked as panels at the same time

    Right now we can only have 1 library open at once in illustrator. Please make it so we can have multiple libraries open at the same time similar to the way we can have multiple swatch libraries open at the same time...

  5. Allow us to set up the default and stepped Dimension Line Offset for the Dimension tool

    When we Opt/Alt-click the object or just click a segment, Ai creates a dimension with some predefined distance between the object and the dimension line.
    We can’t control it (plus we can’t choose which sides to use for Opt/Alt mode anymore, unlike in early Betas).

    Also, we need to be able to hold a modifier while creating a dimension to constrain this offset to a set parameter, in a stepped manner, — something third-party plugins like BPT Pro and CADtools can do.

  7. We should be able to right-click on any command and Add a Hotkey to it

    Ai is stuck in 90-s with the UI’s paradigm.
    We need faster ways now.

    Why can’t we right-click any command in the top bar menu and choose 'Add a keyboard shortcut' command that will immediately open the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog with this clicked menu item already chosen?

    Why should be go to the dialog separately and search for the command once more?

  8. Smart objects (opened from Photoshop) should have the same name as their Photoshop layer

    I'm working on a complicated digital twinning pipeline which involves a lot of nested smart objects within Photoshop files.

    Oftentimes these smart objects are merely white text and it's difficult to distinguish between them when several are open at the same time.

    The problem is compounded because illustrator simply refers to each object that I open as "Vector smart object". Having several open at the same time quickly becomes difficult to manage. I believe, too, that Photoshop is sometimes unable to launch a particular smart object in illustrator because of a clashing "Vector smart object" 'file name' instance.

  9. Add a button to Character panel to enable Snap to Glyph right there

    Character panel has Snap to Glyph section, with buttons to toggle different sub-options. But all of these are disabled unless we toggle the main View > Snap to Glyph option.
    But...
    1. The panel doesn’t tell you this
    2. The 'Snap to specific glyph' button is not a button but an hover hint area (a rather small one, and it blinks hysterically, at least on Windows)
    3. The panel just doesn’t have the button to enable the main option

    WHY? What was the reason to allow to toggle sub-options but permit to enable toggling them?

  10. Preview of the Artboard Sizing

    If we could see what the sizing of the artboard would look like before we click the create button, because sometimes it's just easier to test there before starting an entire new document! :)

  11. Integrate with AEM to enable linking assets without having to work with them locally

    By using Adobe Experience Manager as a DAM and having to work locally with links in Illustrator the user experience is awful. We need to download the folder from the DAM and then work on the file and links knowing that the next person to work on that will need to to the same, it's very time consuming for our team

  12. Smart Guide object edges (on mouse hover) should be easier to distinguish from actual selected object edge

    With smart guides on, a selected object's edge outlines look the same as a rolled-over / mouse-over / hover-over object.

    With complex art, it's often difficult to distinguish if you have an item selected or not. Bounding box handles help, but It would be better if there was some additional attribute related to the actual outline. Perhaps a lower tint of the same guide color?

  17. Allow to hold Shift to force Aligned (orthogonal) Dimensions

    Ai now tries to smartly detect a relative position of the cursor to a dimension being created and choose if it should be parallel or oblique.

    This sound like a smart solution, but in practice is SUCKS.

    Take a look at this small GIF.
    1. The dimension between two objects is live, and responds to the object being moved up and down fine
    2. But if I choose to move it to the right, it says 'hey, I am a dimension between two points, I’m switching to be slanted'
    3. OK, I delete it and try to create anew. STRUGGLING,…

  18. Option to add dimensions to current layer

    I enjoy the new dimension tool but find it annoying that it creates a whole new separate layer. Maybe my workflow is unconventional, but it would be nice if the dimensions could just be added to my print instructions layer instead of a whole new layer just for the dimensions. I make a lot of diecuts and find myself still using old methods to create the dimension lines due to it always putting them on another layer.

  19. Under Filter > Texture: Please add another slider to size the grain particles in the filter.

    You can create a grain effect but cannot size the grain itself.

  20. Magic Wand: Remember default values, restrict to active artboard, fine tune values, ...

    The magic wand seems to got old. It is missing so much functions.

    • Remember settings from previous sessions
    • Restrict selection to active artboards
    • Restrict selection to view

    • Restrict to main active layer

    • Add all the possibilities you can find under "select > same"

    • fine tune the values

    • explain the tolerance value (e.g. for fill colour)

    • add selections by tint, by hue, ...
