I would like to ask for a reminder or alarm feature
I would like to ask for a reminder or alarm feature, which can be in the settings and the user can set it up (somewhat personalized)
Example:
- I need a reminder to hit save every 5 minutes.
- I would like to set a reminder for a mistake I usually do half way through my design. (so maybe a reminder to double check the artwork process)1 vote -
When dropping an object filled with a pattern into Swatches panel, open New Swatch dialog to add the pattern as a new swatch
If we drag-n-drop any artwork into Swatches, a new pattern swatch gets created based on this artwork.
But if we drag-n-drop an singular object with an existing pattern applied to it — nothing happens, as if Ai tries to create a nested pattern and refuses to do so. Allow to change transparency/opacity with digit (number) keys, as in Photoshop
Photoshop allows us to start typing numbers and thus change the opacity for the selected layers. If we are fast enough, we can type something like '57' and Ps takes it as 57%. Pressing zero makes it 100%.
There is no way to disable this in Ps... and it doesn’t allow to use digits keys for any other command or a tool.
Ai allows to map digits just fine (and 1 and 2 are used for Quick Pen Tool currently), and it also allows to map keys to opacity values in Keyboard Shortcuts > Tools — although these are not…

Holding Control key and clicking on a New Layer icon should create a new layer below, as in Photoshop

Layers Panel.
Holding or pressing the Control key and clicking on a new layer icon in Photoshop to creates a new layer below all the layers if no layer is selected, if a layer is selected then you do the same action will create a new layer below the selected layer which really makes sense.
The same thing would be very comfortable in Illustrator if that feature would be added in the Layers and Appearance Panel.6 votes -
Bring back show bounding box while moving objects
When moving any objects in Illustrator, the bounding box will disappear. I need this feature to align objects on the artboard. Please bring back the bounding box when moving objects

When pasting into photoshop, masked objects should be defined by / constrain mask size. Objects / pixels outside the mask should be ignored.
When pasting a masked object from AI to Photoshop, the size of the object is determined by everything inside and outside of the mask. It should be determined by the size of the mask only. Photoshop interprets the clipboard size based on the entire object size rather than the masked size. The result is that the desired final cropped artwork is pasted pasted too small.
I believe this is a bug or design error. I am pretty sure much (much!) older versions of AI didnt do this.
I dont know of a scenario where the current action would be desirable.…3 votes -

白色底的文档导出缺少边界 / A way to export an image with canvas color visible when Use Artboard option is disabled
当画板为白色底时，右键“导出所选项目”，导出的文件没有边界，无法分辨单个项目。
目前的解决方法是在画板上添加一个有描边的矩形，但是当有多个画板时这个方法会比较麻烦。另外一种方法是每个画板单独导出一张图片，再整合到一个文档里，这样也会增加很多工作量。希望团队能有更好的方案。
使用场景举例：当给客户提案或预览整体效果时，需要将多个画板同时导出到一个文件（png或jpg），这时如果画板底色为白色，就无法分辨边界。2 votes -
Please figure out how windows work. AI app window keeps on getting obstructed and out of focus
my idea, is that the app window is "in focus" as soon as you touch any part of it. Being no web app can obscure it — which it does on the daily. Webex, Chrome and even Safari feel free appearing on top of my AI window. Ma dudes. Tell me I am not the 1st one to notice.

Make Eyedropper to highlight text when painting formatting
If you are holding Option/Alt with the Eyedropper you can 'paint' formatting onto text. At the moment you can't see exactly where this is applying though until you release the click. In Indesign, it highlights the text you are painting. It should be the same in Illustrator.
This is important for formatting large piece of text, and with the lack of ability to use keyboard shortcuts when text is selected, this feature is even more important.

Gradient Tool Needs Custom Angle Increment Option
There should be an option to define the angle increment that you want Shift to lock to when creating or modifying a gradient. Such as 15 degree increments (0º, 15º, 30º...). Come on Adobe!

User defined scales for Dimension tool
Repost from general discussions:
I'm delighted to see the addition of the dimensioning tool, but I'm not wild about the fixed choice of scaling ratios. The option to set one's own scales would be great.Failing that, a 1:12 scale seems like a glaring omission for those of us still using inches and feet.
Am I missing something?

In Dimension Tool Options dialog open the Scale dropdown and choose custom to get the Custom Scale dialog.
It works for decimal scales only, like 1:12 or 1:15, but not for Imperial scales like 1/16"

Path tracing should chunk down large images
When vectorising an image that is large and intricate. The illustrator path tracing algorithm should split the image into smaller squares then stitch them back together for the final output.
