1. Show 'Can’t join a path' message as a soft one

   Modal dialogs are very dated. They grab attention, they interrupt workflows, they yell at you. Most times we don’t need these as loud as they are — a whisper is nice.
   And Ai actually now has these, 'soft' messages, like the one we get when we modify a live shape — 'Shape expanded', at the top of the view, in a gray rectangle. Calm, non-intrusive, with auto-destruction timer. Nice!

   But there are other, legacy warnings and screams.
   The most annoying for me persoanlly is the one I get when I try to join a closed path (just in case, to be sure it is closed), but Ai yells at me — 'you caaaaan't' — with a ding and a message and a text... just show the 'Path is already closed' soft message.

   Perhaps don’t mix all the cases together and display it as a huge page like you do. A user has a compound path within the selection? Tell it, and only if the user really has it. Same for other art types users can’t join.
   I see an educational benefit in having it like this now... but look, if I enable 'don’t show this again' checkmark in this alert box, I won’t be able to see if I should join more or is it just enough.

2. New from Template... do not work any more

   When choosing ”New from Template...” from ”File” -menu Illustrator 2024 do not open templates from ”Cool Extras” -folder as a default anymore.

3. Updating artboard dropdown to include social media and saving custom artboards

   The current artboards dropdown menu hasn't been changed in years. It should include social media and trending medium sizes. We should also have the ability to save artboard sizes that are custom to our needs. Just add a "Save artboard" in the dropdown or tool workspace. The current method of saving a template and then having to search, open and then resave the template takes too long and requires too many steps.

5. Share for Review Proof Approval

   Adding functionality for "Proof Approval" would be huge! And would allow the process to remain within Adobe as opposed to having to go outside Adobe products. Turning on this functionality when needed, allowing for proof to be sent that can be officially approved within AI that:

   a. Doesn't allow the user the ability to download the PDF and steal the artwork.

   b. Sends confirmation that the Proof was Approved or Not Approved with feedback. This can help streamline the approval process ensuring everyone is aware when a proof is sent, and status changes (Pending, Approved, Not Approved, etc.).

   c. Saves the history of approval status and changes, so that the proof approval date, time, and by whom can be seen and referenced. This is for records and potential disputes.

   d. Possibly a "Compress and Convert Images to Raster" option that could allow the person approving the proof to download the proof marked "Approved" for their records. This again protects from clients stealing artwork.

6. Make Recolor work with Repeats

   Recolor does not do anything if you apply it the an piece of artwork inside of a Repeat object, and is completely unavailable when a whole Repeat is selected.
   Stop abandoning features half-way and finish the integration.

7. Make the type on a path tool smarter

   I would like an option to make a text follow a path in a more smooth way. For example, look at the PSG logo where you see how the A and R follow the circular shape, without distorting the shape of the letter.

8. Invite to edit functionality

   On a previous version of Adobe Illustrator, anyone with access to the aic file could invite new members to the document. There has since been an update where only the owner of the file can share the file to new people. Is it possible to implement an 'admin' or 'manger' to each file. Therefore the owner of the document can provide admin rights to other colloborates of the document. Anyone with admin access could then share the aic file.

9. Color differents problem

   I have a problem with big color's preference difference between my AI monitor and real color on my and other machines. It's also concerning all the colors.
   I choose the red color and I get the brick color otherwise. Really in image and PDF file, I see the red color indeed.
   It's very serious problem for me, because I cann't know what the color I use to.

10. Make it possible for a Graphic Style to mark some symbols as being part of it.

    So right now I have a workflow that involves making a lot of complex appearance stacks, saving them as a Graphic Style, then later bringing them into another file by hitting the 'library' button in the Graphic Styles palette and navigating to it via the Other Library file picker.

    If I import a style that uses a brush or a global color swatch or a pattern swatch or a width profile, those assets will get imported. But a style that uses a symbol won't import the symbol, and this is a really annoying little exception. It is, perhaps, not surprising that this exception exists since none of Illustrator's native effects use symbols.

    But lately I have been doing a lot of stuff with Astute Graphics' Halftone and Stipple effects. Both of these live effects have modes where they can spray symbols across a fill or a stroke based on the underlying art. They can even mix multiple symbols across the art. They're pretty powerful and a lot of fun.

    I use these effects in complex Appearance stacks, and save these stacks as Graphic Styles so I can access them quickly with one click. Everything works fine up to this point as long as I'm in the same document.

    But when I open a new document and want to bring those styles over, I hit the library button in the Styles palette and load in the file with the styles... and the styles come over without the symbols they rely on. I have to open the same file as a library in the Symbol palette and import all the symbols, then convince the Styles palette to regenerate all its thumbnails.

    (If I copy and paste a path with one of these styles from one file to another, it does bring across the symbols. But then I run into problems where some of the other effects I use get expanded into bitmaps when they travel through the copy buffer.)

    The nice folks at Astute tell me there's no way for their effect plugins to tell Illustrator that these symbols are associated with a Graphic Style, so that they would be automatically imported when I import a style. Please give them a way to do this. Thanks.

11. Clip to Artboard [similar to Figma/XD]

    Can we please get a "Clip to artboard" Option in Illustrator, acting similar to the one to be found in XD or Figma? This would help a lot when working with multiple style frame inside one document.

12. Illustrator cannot export as targa (TGA) as individual artboards and with transparent backgrounds

13. Xray mode in Adobe Illustrator

    There should be an Xray mode in Adobe Illustrator similar to what we have in Blender 3D.

    When toggled on from a keyboard shortcut, this should allow the user to temporarily view all the objects (Paths, including appearances) to be slightly transparent and allow the user to select objects that are behind each other or at the bottom of the stacking order.

    The outline view is good but not enough. I still can't select paths behind each other and don't show appearances so can't actually see what I'm selecting if artwork has similar shapes stacking there.

14. Make an option to allow to transform (move / rotate / resize) a pattern within object without holding ` (backtick / grave / tilde) key

    Newly redundant options in Transform menu
    With the AI ver 27.5 update the "Transform Pattern Only" option does not work anymore in the Transform palette options menu.
    It used to be that the pattern would move interactively within its container if it was dragged or rotated. Now the whole object moves. My small business works exclusively on pattern design and this happens on both our machines. (Win 10 and Win 11. Both i7 with 32gb) RAM).

15. Show the exact location where snapping to grid occurs

    Snap to Grid is underrated. Illustrator makes everything to make it uncomfortable to use: no constantly available indicator, clashing with Smart Guides, the general lack of customization (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-feature-requests/suggestions/32403847-make-center-point-visible-while-dragging-art)...

    And also it does not give enough feedback on WHERE the moved / transformed object snaps to, to which exact gridlines’ intersection.

    Look at the GIF — this 13.25×13.25 magenta square feels like it’s lagging, also I’m just trying to position it.

    Look at the second GIF, from Affinity Designer. Can you spot the difference? We can clearly see which point it snaps to, no problem. Well, almost clearly, lines get drawn too late and too pale to my taste... but at least they exist!

16. Puppet Warp tool should be able to affect meshes.

    I could have pushed this object around in seconds if the Puppet Warp tool worked on meshes. Instead I have to laboriously grab and move one point at a time to make the distortion meshes in this glass match up with the body of it.

    Please remedy this so that the next time I try to use the Puppet Warp tool to push stuff around that happens to contain a distortion mesh, I don't get this error.

    If there's any other type of object that will spawn a "The Puppet Warp tool does not support this type of object" error then please include fixing that in the scope of this request, as well. I feel like the only kind of object that I would be okay with seeing that error for is a bitmap image. Everything else should be puppetwarpable.

17. Lock tools or pallets to the edge when using multiple monitors?

    I'd like to be able to pin toolbars or windows to the inside edge when using multiple monitors. I like keeping my main display clear of obstruction and have my tool pallets against the "spine" between the two monitors on the secondary display. Illustrator only allows toolbar pinning to happen on the extreme left or right of all monitors... Please allow the ability to pin to the spine/seam of the monitors.

18. Multiline tooltips

    Plugin developers can’t make tooltips go in several lines. Extensive tooltips are forced to be one long line, and it’s hard to read in time.

19. Custom exposure time for hover tooltips for third-party developers

    A narrow enough request. At the moment developers can’t customize the time each hover tooltip gets displayed. When the text is long, it vanishes too soon.

20. Actions for Image Tracing

    Hi Adobe, PLEASE can you add more detail to the actions. For example, when I run an image trace, I don't just want to rerun the last one as I have different presets. I want to be able to say use the "Outline Fills" Image Trace and expand. Additionally these should be able to be adjusted later by double clicking the action line - like photoshop does
