Export artboards with the correct sequential order
I am creating multiple page presentations and often I have to insert or move artboards. When I export the artboards to JPG or PNG they are named after their original artboard number which creates a lot of extra work for me.
3 votesIllustrator uses the actual order of artboards in the Artboards panel for numbering, not the one you have on canvas (because artboards can be used not only as pages, but viewports, intersect and contain each other). To get the order you need, you should re-arrange the list manually in the panel.

Automatic stroke manipulation based on the depth of geometry
It has been quite time-consuming when producing architecture line drawing representations. The depth of an object is represented through the different stroke weights. Every time I have to modify the stroke weights manually (i.e. perspective representation, the closer visual depth the objects have, the thicker stroke weights they have, vice versa) I expect illustrator can update this ability to automatically compute the visual depth of objects and adjust stroke weights of every geometric edges based on the rule of perspective representation! That could save life of many architecture students!

Ability to temporarily flip canvas horizontally (mirror view) for design checking
For illustrative purposes, it would be really handy to be able to temporarily flip the canvas horizontally as if in a mirrored reflection.
You would instantly see slight imperfections in a design in this new angle that was not previously noticeable due to one's specific viewpoint.
A lot of graphic programs do this to allow scrutiny from an alternate angle. InDesign and Photoshop do this already of course.

AutoCAD DWG support on Illustrator Silicon
To import DWG (any version) into Apple Silicon Illustrator. The current version 25.3 is no longer compatible. This is a critical missing import ability.

command+option+z should *not* be the shortcut to revert the current project
command+option+z is "step backward" in photoshop, undo basically. Why is it revert file in illustrator?! so many people have lost work because of this simple oversight.

This might actually be useful in other products but have an "open frequent" as well as open recent, if you have to load a file alot
I was thinking you could add hexadecimal count in file so only adding a byte of data but then what happens when you share files ect, I don't know if there is already a easy way already in the metadata you could implement it
Now I know you can create libraries to sort of do what I'm saying or bridge.
A couple of situations where it would be useful loading up logo for a frequent client or company you work for.

Blending modes respecting self intersecting strokes
When drawing with a real marker, overlapping strokes are darker than single strokes.
I would like Illustrator to have the option to mimic this when using strokes in Multiply mode. It works with to separate paths, but not with self intersecting paths,Compare left and right in the image.

Option to place the origin of the artboard at the center of the artboard
I would like the option to place the origin of the artboard at the center of the artboard, so that objects can be placed at the center just by setting the position to zero please. This would also make it a lot easier to mirror object to other sides just by making their position negative or positive.

Gradient following the curve of a shape
Don't know if this is an original idea but - is it possible to make an feature to make a gradient follow a user-drawn guideline (like with text on line)..? I tried to illustrate it in the attached file - the first shape is the one that should be filled with gradient, the second one is what we can do now (or mesh but that's a bit complicated) and the third one shows the guideline in purple and arrows that the gradient would follow. Tiled grids for pattern brushes
Custom brushes are nearly impossible to make as a pattern brush if you don’t want a ridiculous amount of tiling. How about instead of making it tile in a grid, you give the option to have it only tile vertically or horizontally? This would help people who are on fashion and architecture courses, to name only two groups who would benefit from such a feature.

Improve Shape Builder by adapting the Corel’s Smart Fill functionality (Paint Bucket)
Whoever came up with the idea of the Shape Builder, they did utilize not that popular Live Paint in a great way. Make it even better!
Steal and add to Ai the Smart Fill from Corel Draw (see the GIF attached). You don’t have to create a live paint, you just click over the intersection, just like Shape Builder does, and you have your new shape over the original paths. Steal it and make it better — CorelDraw doesn’t understand click and drag here, and it’s less comfortable to set a color (while Ai won’t have any problem here). Like…21 votes -

プリント画面表示時にそのバックの作業画面のスクロールを可能にして欲しい
デザイン画面をプリントアウトする印刷物を作成するデザイナーのほとんどは、広い作業画面の分割プリント指示を使って複数のラフをプリントします。そのときどのページをプリント指示する場合、作業画面に表示される分割プリントの番号をプリント画面で入力します。ところがプリント画面が表示されている状態では作業画面をスクロールすることが出来ません。その結果、ページ番号をメモしたり覚えたりしてその数字をプリントタイル範囲に入力しなければなりません。かつてのかなり古いバージョンではスクロール出来た時もありましたがいつの間にかその機能はなくなってしまいました。プリント画面でバックの作業画面をスクロールできると、プリント指示の効率が非常にあがります。ぜひ復活をお願いいたします。

日本語での作業時にフォントの選択が困難を極めます。
日本語版を使用しているとフォントの数が極端に多くなります。モリサワ、フォントワークスなどがサブスクリプションで多数の書体が使えるようになっており、そのうえフォントの名前が頭にA-OTFなどのベンダーのつけた記号によって、記憶しているフォント名順にならず、さらに欧文フォントが多数インストールされており、とどめにAdobeTypeが加わり、フォントの並び順がめちゃくちゃでかつスクロールも以上に長く、使いたいフォントにすぐたどり着けません。最近使用したフォントをフォントメニューの頭に並ぶ設定にすると、こんどは実際に書類のフォントを変えながら探すときに、毎回フォントメニューの頭に戻ってしまい、たとえば欧文でAの名前から順に探すために毎回ながいスクロールをするハメになります。また、ラップトップの小さい画面で選べるようにポップアップしたフォントメニューの天地幅が狭く、大型モニタで作業する多くのユーザーは少しの範囲しかないポップアップで延々スクロールしなければなりません。提案は3点。 1｜フォントのポップアップの天地幅を大きなモニタで長くして欲しい。 2｜フォントメニューのフォント名の並び順を任意に変えられるようにして欲しい。 3｜微妙に違うフォントが増えたので、フォント名の右側だけではなく、固定ウインドウにもっと大きなサンプルを表示して欲しい。以上です。英語版以外の特に日本語版のフォント選択の不便さは誰もが困っているはずです。非能率このうえない状態をユーザにいつまで強いるのでしょうか。改善を強く望みます。

Improved Type on a Path
Type on a Path still is and always has been difficult to align. Trying to find the little cursors that allow you to adjust the end , middle, and begin points to move type around is difficult as they are so small and finicky and even blend in with the bounding box guides of the path. Having a clearer, easier way to move the type on path would be extremely helpful to everyone. I have even heard professionals teaching classes on Skillshare complain about this issue.

Allow docked tool panels to stack one under another
For now a docked tool panel takes the whole column, not matter how short it is. It forces us to clump all custom tools in one panel. Normal panels can stack any way possible.
Please, give us the possibility to dock tool panels in rows too.Also look related request about separators in tool panels:

Select all objects on same (sub)layer as selected object
Currently, you cannot select one object and expand the selection to the entire layer, the existing "Select > Object > All on same layers" selects the parent layers as well.
In case objects have different appearances, but reside on the same sublayer, it is much easier to select one object than to search for the appropriate layer in certain situations (especially on large files).3 votes
