1. Add a slug area in document setup

   In InDesign's document setup, there are Slug settings in addition to Bleed.
   https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/how-to/set-print-bleed.html

   There is no slug area in Illustrator. As a result, users are stacking another large artboard underneath the artboard as an alternative to a slug area. This situation should be remedied by adding Slug settings.

2. Option + Delete to erase whole words

   To speed up deleting words, I wish Illustrator has an option to delete whole words using the both delete keys (num keyboard).

3. Allow layers with "print" unchecked to also not render in "output for screens".

   Basically, just like the title says. When the "Print" box in a layer's properties is unchecked, that layer will not be printed (or, when exporting, it won't be used in the export).

   I'd like this behavior to be continued in export for screens. That way, you can set up layers for overlays and guides but not have to manually hide them before export.

   F/E, here's an overlay on a FB mobile sized coverpage; I'd like the blue box etc (on their own non-print layer called "overlays") to be gone on export so that when I export, all that the resulting image would be is the yellow "art" layer.

4. Artboard Textures

   Textured artboard choice, ie canvas, wood, concrete, liquid etc.
   When new drawings happen all the work reacts according to the artboard type, ie lineworks degrade if on a canvas texture. I know this can be simulated afterwards but the linework or colour fills don’t degrade accurately, it’s more a superimposition.
   I also realise this would take an awful lot of computing power!

5. Access to sub-layers has disappeared.

   Not sure if this is happening to everyone, but the arrows to access my sublayers have gone missing... and the ability to GET to my sublayers went with.

   I have updated, uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted... and it persists.

   Thoughts?

6. Customizing any toolbar by right click on any empty space on it

   customizing any toolbar by right-clicking in an empty space as well as the three dots underneath any toolbar.
   Illustrator becomes popular for developers around the world and every day there is a new plugin to enhance working in Illustrator. but in some small resolution PC / Laptops when some plugins add new tools the toolbar becomes very tall and could not reach the (customize this toolbar) the three dots that arrange and customizing my tools.
   this feature will allow managing any numbers of tools as well as managing the toolbars itself. and it will improve the user experience related to the interface.
   please find the attached screenshot to see that this improvement is a must.

   my suggestion is to allow right-click in any empty space on the tools bar or let the tools to be in three or four columns maximum.

   When adding objects to Asset Export, there should be an option to name the assets after the layer they're on. This would be particularly helpful when there are a large number of assets.

8. The order of the Undo history after executing the script is incorrect.

   I checked with macOS X Mojave, Illustrator24.3, and Yosemite, Illustrator CS6.

   Below is a sculpt to create a new document, create a rectangle, select and copy, paste and cut. Try it first.

   app.copy ();
   app.paste ();
   app.cut ();

   After execution, the user can undo it.
   The final process is "cut", but what appears in the menu is "undo paste".
   Let's cancel it again. The second thing that appears is "undo cut".
   Because of this, when you try to return to the pre-execution state, Illustrator almost always thinks a bit and ends with an error.

   The development of ExtendScriptToolKit seems to be over, but we still need to continue using ExtendScript, so this bug cannot be overlooked.

   This is a sincere request, so please fix it.

9. Snap to middles of grid unit

   It would be useful to have the option when grid snapping is enabled, a hint or indicator that allows the user to snap the anchor handles to the middle point of the defined grid unit. A simple override to avoid having to enable/disable the snapping function.

10. SVG Import image X and Y positions are multiplied by 2

    If you open this SVG in Chrome, FF, Inkscape, etc, the rectangle and the 120.png image should be stacked on top of each other. However, in Illustrator CC (As of 09-23-2020) the image appears at 240x240 for the X/Y position instead of the defined 120x120. Appears to be this way only with the image tag. If you were to do a transformation matrix, it fixes the problem but still it should be imported properly into Illustrator.

11. Export SVG without transforms for use with web / HTML / CSS / JS

    When will illustrator support options for exporting SVG without transforms?

    We have to manually calculate then set the x,y,width, height attributes on an svg element from a transform: matrix or other transforms.

    Attached image: I can't pull this into an html document and animate it because the inline transforms override the css transform I use to position or animate.

13. More appropriate way of having straight lines and adding arrow head easily

    I am an academic and use straight lines and block diagrams for illustrating my methodologies. Although having a rectangle or square is super easy, it is not straightforward to create straight line or arrowhead. Please make sure these features can be used appropriately. Thanks

14. gestures

    Make it so Windows version of Adobe programs are capable of all gestures such as zoom and pan/scroll. This works perfectly fine on my MacBook, but on Windows I'm only able to chose if I can scroll/pan or zoom, but cannot zoom and pan. This makes working with the program extremely difficult and infuriating when it's such a simple feature that works in every other basic program.

    I don't understand how this is still an issue when this has been posted on every Adobe forum for several years now. Especially now that you can't just purchase and own the programs, paying a monthly subscription, these programs should be capable of the basic gestures that every other simple program has been able to do for years and that Adobe is capable of doing on Mac. It's ridiculous that this is even still an issue.

15. A new tool that copies exactly the color that's seen by the user on the screen through transparent objects

    Currently, when I like a certain color that's formed through the combination of 2 or more transparent objects (or objects with blend modes applied), I can't copy that exact color. The eye-dropper tool simply copies the color from the topmost object. I often find myself taking a snap of the display and then paste that image within illustrator and copying the color I want from that image.

    Request: I'd like a tool, similar to the eye-dropper, but instead, it picks the RESULTANT color(s) that is displayed through transparent objects or even objects with BLEND-MODES applied to them.

    I've attached an extremely simplified image.

17. Smart guide show projected extension of another line when hovering

    This is a basic feature in CAD programs. When you are using the pen or line tools, you need to be able to hover over the end point of a line, and then snap the cursor to that line's hypothetical extension, so you can start a new line on that extension, so that each point you make can be co-linear with another.

    I can't say how many times (probably in the tens of thousands) in my career when I have had to drag out a construction line extension just so i can start a new line that is co-linear, or at least starts co-linear with an existing line, and then delete the construction line when i am done.

18. Opacity control via incremental change

    need the option to be able to bind incremental opacity levels to just 2 buttons(+ &- values)Example: pressing J to increase by a value of 1 or keeping it pressed to increased by a value of 1 every 0.2sec; and vice-versa for another key.

19. Replace file with same name!

    Exporting png or other format, save with exact name, select "replace file", does not replace file but makes NEW file with "artboard" or other additional text. PLEASE when we select "replace", REPLACE the same file with the same name. Have to manually rename over 20 files. We have files that are linked in Indesign and this causes lots of extra time and effort every time there is an edit. Clients have to pay more for extra time, something that should be simple causes a large ripple effect when every other application renames replacement files correctly. PLEASE FIX THIS.

20. Free Distort Zoom

    You guys should allow Free Distort to be zoomed-up on in the Free Distort window. It'd be nice to be able to zoom up real close into that window like one can on an artboard.
