1. Cannot Resize - Bounding box reset doesn't help

   I have tried resetting the bounding box of everything on my artboard and it doesn't work I cannot resize text or images!

2. Show all tabs when switching to fullscreen mode

   When switching to Full Screen Mode I can only see the document I'm working with. Why not show all the open documents like tabs?

   I don't understand why the tabs disappear just because I'm switching to fullscreen.

5. Illustrator or Photoshop for digital drawing??

   I am a digital artist. I didn't see a thread about difference between this two software , and it seemed like no one has given their impressions on this oftware so I wanted to put together something quick to kickstart a discussion or something.

   Illustrator is a vector based application and Photoshop is an image editor. That means Photoshop works with pixels and Illustrator does not. Illustrator drawings can be scaled and printed at any size without loss of image quality. The lines are very clean and sharp, which is great for logo design and illustration. Photoshop drawings can be more similar to drawing with traditional media like pencils, or chalk, or paint, if that's what you want.

   If you draw in Photoshop it is important to plan ahead for final output size. If you want to eventually print your drawing at 16" x 20", then you need to start with a document that big, at a resolution of at least 150 ppi (depending on how it will be printed). When you draw in Illustrator you don't have to worry about any of that in the beginning.

   What kind of drawing are you trying to create? What's the final intent for the drawing? Do you want a super sharp clean edge drawing, or something more organic? You have to answer those questions before you can get the correct answer.

   IF you decide that Photoshop is perfect for your drawing needs, then you must get a pressure sensitive drawing tablet . XP-Pen makes a affordable and well-built graphics tablets.

   I combine drawing and photography for my composite art. I start the old fashion way with pencil on paper, then color it in Photoshop. The final look is much different then something created in Illustrator. Here's my most recent drawing composite.

   Von Glitschka is the best Illustrator artist I know. His work has a completely different look and style. He primarily works in Illustrator and has written several books and recorded several Lynda.com courses about his workflow.

   Patrick Lamontagne is a cartoon artist who does all of his work in Photoshop, including the line drawing part. He also does photo realistic paintings completely with Photoshop.

6. Shorter toolbar size

   Hi, any chance of being able to have an option of a shorter version of the Tools palette. When I have it set to single column using a 15" MacBook this runs off the bottom of the screen. I know I could set it to double column but I like to have a maximum working area. Just a thought…

8. Discard all Overprints

   I work specifically in digital prepress for POP displays, and never use overprinting at all. Removing overprinting from a document can be a hassle as I work with documents that almost always contain a mix of solid objects, linked raster images and other things. I consider myself extremely lucky when I find a document that I can easily remove all overprints from in one go

   Illustrator already has a "Discard white overprints" in the document setup (although I rarely use this menu). We should either have a menu option to remove all overprints from a document, or at least an option in the document setup to remove ALL overprints instead of just white.

9. Reset symbol rotation and scale independently

   It would be nice if we had the option to reset symbol transformations independently.

   For example, only the scale (keeping the same rotation) or only the rotation (keeping the same scale).

11. Allow to customize colors for handle controls, anchors, and paths edges (permanently and context-based / on the fly)

    It would be helpful if you could make the color of pen tool handles distinguishable from the anchor color, even just a slight difference would be helpful.

12. After AI crashes, list of Recent Files should be restored as it was BEFORE crash

    AI crashes quite often. Every time I relaunch it, I see documents in 'File > Open Recent Files' that I opened long-long ago.
    AI seems to save this list only after successful closing, which is RARE.

    Just make AI store list of recent documents elsewhere every time document is opened and restore it after crash.

13. Isometric (triangular) grid

    Please give us the option to display an isometric grid. Currently you always have to build one from scratch wich can be very tiring ...

    Given the fact that isometric drawings have gained quite some popularity and you see them rather often on websites, it would be nice to have better tools to create these graphics, among them a proper grid.

14. Password protect in layers

    I am looking for an option in the Adobe Illustrator to have the layers locked with a password. so i can send the source file to the other users only to modify what they have to and not touch my content.

15. Display the Shape parameters in toolbar regardless of display resolution or monitor size. My 15" MBP does not show H and W 27"iMac does

    My 15" Macbook Pro does not show H and W when a shape is selected. My 27" iMac does. There is enough space to show these parameters so why are they a drop down in that size display?
    I also work in Windows 10 but its a 27" monitor & they are displayed.

16. Align to x-height / Cap height, align to effects' bounds

    Hey! Illustrator rocks!! I am a professionnal user and I have to tell you that the software is really awesome!!!
    As a graphic designer (specialized in UI) I have to align stuff all the time:
    1- I would like to to be able to align the text to x-height inside a box rapidly. ( for instance the words inside a button )
    2-It would be nice to be able to align the stuff that has been duplicated with the Transformation... tool
    For now in both case I would have to decompose a duplicate of the transformed shape and manage to make it the same size of the box...it is doable but it is a bit of a pain!

17. [BUG] xmpMM:DocumentID isn't unique at creation stage

    When you create new documents, they all share the same XMP documentID value while you would expect it's unique for every single new document.
    Saving the document solves the issue but it means one can't rely on documentID uniqueness while the document isn't saved.
    It needs to be unique at the creation stage already.

    Moving as a feature request. We generate an unique value only on file save. When you create a file it inherits all the attributes of the preset it uses. This is the reason you see the same uuid each time you create the document,
