  1. Increase selection tolerance

    The selection tolerance maximum is 8px. My laptop has a 4k screen making 8px less than 1/64 of an inch. It's almost impossible for me to select lines in Illustrator with this small of a tolerance.

  2. Layer Tags, Virtual Layer Groups and Regex Search

    I want to be able to keep layer names simple in projects with large numbers of layers, but I also want to be able to search for those layers in specific circumstances quickly and easily. To do this, I would like to be able to add "tags" to the layer properties (when you double click the layer), and then to have those tags searchable in the layer search.

    Further, I often have to toggle between two layers amongst a longer group of layers at the same level, and right now I have to do a layer search for one, turn…

  4. Allow Shaper Tool to create stars

    Shaper Tool allows to create live rectangles, ellipses, polygons in a freehand manner: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/building-new-shapes-using-shape.html

    Recently a new live shape got added into Illustrator — Star.
    But Shaper Tool won’t create one if you try to scribble it.
    Not sure how popular Shaper Tool is, but it should be able to do it anyway.

  5. Option + Arrow to duplicate and move text

    Please bring back the ability to duplicate and move text with the Option + Arrow keys. It was an incredibly handy feature. I used it all the time and it has been sorely missed.

  6. An optional feature in which the Similar Selection tool only works in a pre defined space on the canvas

    For example:
    I have two copy's of the same layout in one canvas, but i only want to change similar objects in one of them.
    I would love to be able to draw a box around one of the 2 layouts and only in the select area the similar selction tool should select the similar objects.

    That would be an amazing feature! for me atleast :D

  7. Identify Newly Installed Fonts in Adobe Illustrator

    Problem:

    Managing large font collections in Adobe Illustrator can be challenging, especially when installing new fonts. With hundreds or even thousands of fonts, identifying recently added ones becomes a tedious task, often requiring manual scrolling and searching through the entire font menu.

    Proposed Solution:

    Implement a feature in Illustrator that allows users to easily identify newly installed fonts. Here are two potential options:

    Filter by Install Date: Add a sorting option within the font menu that displays fonts by their installation date. This would allow users to quickly see the most recently added fonts at the top of the list.

  8. Illustrator 28 no longer retains editable text fields used in Acrobat.

    The company I work for often sends files that need to be filled out in Acrobat, but the art is edited in Illustrator. In Illustrator 27 there was no issue. I would edit the contents in Illustrator and then open in Acrobat to finish filling out the form. But as the subject line indicates, Illustrator 28 somehow removes these editable text fields set in Acrobat, making the file unusable for our customers.

    This work flow is not our choice, it's a requirement from some of our customers.

  11. Add an option to allow to snap to and by linked art, a similar one to Snap to Glyphs option

    Could it be possible to get some help to align to a graphic imported? Something like "Snap to Glyph"?
    It could help a lot to work precisely, without "embedding" the placed artwork...

  12. Allow the bullet behavior to be turned ON or OFF

    I would very much like to have the option to turn the Bullet behavior ON or OFF. - Part of why I use Illustrator as much as I do is that I like to have complete control of my design. I use InDesign in a very limited, specific way, even with book layout, i.e. TOC & pagination. - For example, I'm trying to make headers for a short PDF and I can't add numbers before my headers without loosing control of the styling. They've been gobbled up by the bullet functionality and I can't even change the color. I can't…

  13. Graph to vector

    I'm requesting a feature I'm calling Graph to Vector. The idea would be to use the data in a graph and use the AI capabilities to generate a vector based on that data.

    For instance, if you had a graph representing how you spent your budget this past year with 5 different categories divided by percentages, you could take the colors used to represent the percentages and make a vector with those same colors in those same percentages. If 20% of the budget was represented by blue, then 20% of the vector could be blue.

  17. Allow outline / edges colour changes in Symbol edit mode

    Allow the user to change the outline colour in Symbol Editing Mode. 'Options for Symbol Editing Mode' is always greyed out. It's possible to change the outline colour but it always reverts to the randomly-selected default colour.

  18. Adobe Please Update Image Trace

    Totally understand the business aspects of focusing on tools which have the most users. However Image Trace appears stuck in a time warp, and not moving forward. May be stretching but with the AI, ML tools Image Trace should be far more capable than the current form. The inability to distinguish lines in an image is of concern. You should be able to draw more interest to take raster drawings to the next level with Illustrator. Has been almost 24 years when this was released. Definitely time to take to the next level.

  19. Change thickness of the bounding box lines

    Some of the bounding boxes are not easily visible on some colors. Although that can be changed based on the layer options, it would be beneficial for those who are using high res monitors and/or don't see as well to make them thicker.

  20. Placing "Show Import Options" - Import Photoshop Artboards Individually into Illustrator

    Give placing options (similar to the PDF import options) when placing a Photoshop file (.PSD and .PSB) into Illustrator; if the "Show Import Options" box is checked, give the user the options to import Photoshop Artboards Individually (Similar to .Ai and PDF Artboards) or as the whole image file.

    The "Show Import Options" box must be checked to get these options, however if not checked, the whole image file will be imported into Illustrator regardless of artboards present.
