Live preview of paths while editing
I would expect that the shape or a path while transforming would be rendered in a way as it will look at the end of my editing. Now, when i move handles or points / transform the object, the original shape stays the same and changes shows only as a line in the color of the layer. I understand, that for precision-transformation it's beter to see just the thin line (smart guides, snapping etc.), but while reshaping curves it would be great to see the final shape in real time.

9-point magnetic object-to-grid (or-grid to-object) without smart guides
Could you consider a feature used in Esko Graphics (Artpro) for the placement of objects (9-point grid) to a crosshair or placing a crosshair to an object. This would expand current align and artboard functions into one clean and user friendly feature. Would also improve functions such as Mirror, Scale, Paste in place, copying to correct location across various files even if rulers are not set the same. For more details see: http://docs.esko.com/docs/en-us/artpro
I can expand on this for you on request. Might answer a lot of similar requests into one new feature!1 votePlease elaborate on the request, share some screenshots or mockups, and provide some info about the cases which can benefit from this functionality.

Goodmorning, I refer to the following issue: https://forums.adobe.com/message/9978412#9978412

Kind regards,

New Artboard Automatically Generated - No Preview Available
When a new artboard is generated, it is now automatically placed to the right of the active artboard. Previously, generating a new artboard would show a preview and allow me to place wherever I wanted.
I work frequently with nested artboards, and when I want to create a new artboard within the active artboard, I am taken away from the area I am viewing, which is frustrating. I now have to zoom out, turn off 'move with artboard' so that no art is interrupted, move the new artboard to the area I originally wanted it to be in, zoom in and adjust, then turn 'move with artboard' back on. I do this often, which adds many steps and time to my workflow.

Link pictures from Variable Panel
When setting variables into variable panel, we can't auto add links addresses to variable, and need to add them into external xml or csv files. If we will add "Links" into variable panel we can click on folder icon and auto load link address into variable panel.

Width Tool Numeric Control
When using the Width Tool to manipulate the width of a stroke, it would be helpful to have the option to alt+click and enter the desired width in a dialog box, in a similar fashion to the Rotate Tool.

Transform Tool
Hello illustrator. A couple versions back, the transform tool didn't lag after hitting tab when typing in a number in x. Now I have to wait five seconds before typing a number in y otherwise the element will not move to the desired position and I have to type the number again.

Improved HiDPI Windows support just like Photoshop 19.1
Essentially do with Illustrator what you've done with Photoshop (https://theblog.adobe.com/photoshop-releases-version-19-1-selections-improvements-advanced-support-windows-high-density-monitors/). That is "[offer] a full range of choices for UI scale factors from 100% through 400%, in 25% increments. [... A]utomatically adjust itself based on your Windows settings, making it simple to set up."

Appending number after SVG export
After exporting SVG files there is a version number added to the file name... can you make this optional... It adds a bunch of unnecessary steps to my work flow as I have to then navigate to the file and rename it every time I export...

Why dont you make it so that when you send us a new update that it includes the addons? i get tired of having to fix the addons i have.
Why is it so difficult for you not break my addons? I have an addon for cutstudio that is no longer available. I tried removing it and reinstalling it at least five times already since i last updated Illustrator and still not showing under window/extensions... As advance as this software is and how much i pay for it every month I shouldnt have to deal with it breaking.

Expanding scatter brush without boxes
When I create a scatter brush of random circles and then expand the appearance, it creates outlines of all the circles, but also adds in a box around each circle. When I 'Unite' the shapes the boxes are included and there are too many to have to go in and delete the boxes manually.

Could you please add similar artboard settings or features like Photoshop?
I generally use Adobe illustrator for App design and find it annoying on how illustrator artboards are too close together. Could you guys add the artboard settings from Photoshop into to illustrator? I just like the spacing and the naming system defined by Photoshop. It allows for a nicer looking work space.

Improve User-Friendliness
I would enjoy Illustrator a lot more if I had the option to make the UI that of Photoshop's. It allows me to easily and quickly manipulate the layers, unlike in Illustrator. In illustrator, if I wish to change the opacity of a layer and solely a layer, I've found it to be impossible, since the opacity slider changes the opacity of my brush tool for future use, even if I manipulate its opacity back to 100%. Why is the desktop version of Illustrator so much less user-friendly than the free iOS and Android application versions? The only reason that I'm posting this here instead of just using Photoshop is because Photoshop isn't a vector program, and draws with pixels. The reason I'm not using Illustrator Draw is because it doesn't have all the tools I need to make everything I would like to; I like using my pressure-sensitive Wacom to variate my lines, but am constantly flustered by poor UI decisions and accessibility. For me, and many others like me, I hope you adjust some things accordingly, as it can be frustrating to lose your mind over something as small as changing a layer's opacity, and just that layer's opacity.
Thank you, and with much consideration

Add Anchor Tool: Make it easier to add multiple anchors
When doing a complex drawing, I often start with a simple shape and then use the "Add Anchor Point" tool to add points to a line, near where I plan to place them (by clicking and dragging). For instance I'm drawing a partially constructed "Death Star" for a T-shirt I'm designing. I started with a circle, and on one side of the circle, I'm creating the (cartoonish) effect of a "ragged edge". This requires a sh*t load of anchor points, which have to be created by clicking on the perimeter of the founding circle, then moving slightly along the line, and finally aiming and clicking again. Emphasis on "aiming", which is quite tedious, since I miss 20 to 30% of the time.
It would be splendid if I could aim once, then repeatedly click, and watch little anchor points march along the line, spacing themselves, from each other, for easy click-and-drag, when it comes time to place the little buggers.
I saw the "More advanced 'Add Anchor Points' function" request, but it seems over complicated, so I didn't vote on it.
