Metadata on ASE
For me and many designers, color is an asset with information associated with it that I need to follow this asset as it moves from different design programs. With metadata attached to file, I would be able to utilize the features in InDesign and other programs to auto populate this information into text fields. Additionally if this metadata ASE file was a library shared between many users and the any of the tagged information on a color was changed, this update would shoot out to any documents using this color. Designers are being asked to design for new end user media
Creating ways to take my vector to 3D, for 3D printing, CNC plasma cutting, and new ways that are being asked for designers and artist to file share and work better together. Exporting my work for auto cad, and 3D software, plotters etc and simplify the paths. There is 2D and there is 3D cad. But as an artist I want to be able to take what I have done in Illustrator and evolve my work and output options to and material to the next level. CorelDraw was just a play toy program. All creative cloud document preview when applications are not running
Sorry for my Tarzan's english. On Mac Big Sur I'm suffering a lot because it's impossible to see documents preview with space bar when a file is selected. I need this feature with Illustrator and InDesign! Thank you. BTW: Art View doesn't works anymore.

Unembed JPEGs & PNGs
Please return the feature from the older versions that lets you unembed JPEGs & PNGs. I hate that it's only possible to do with TIFFs and PSDs now. It's such a pain when you're trying to reduce the file size.

Please Address Ongoing Bugs in Font Activation
Despite recently getting a fix, there is still a problem involving fonts deactivating, and Illustrator listing those same fonts as active.
I'm still constantly going to the website to deactivate and reactivate fonts, and it's annoying.
Just this afternoon I had this problem with Lato, HWZ Artz, and Wigwag. However I've seen this problem with many others before.
Can't we just store these things locally and keep them there??1 vote -
Fullcap function doesn't work for ydieresis
The fullcaps function doesn't work for the character “ÿ” y-dieresis. All the other letters work correctly, and it works in inDesign too, the problem seems to appear only in AI and PS

Apply colour mode to different artboards
It would be great to have a feature where we can change colour modes for different artboards. This is extremely helpful in today's digital world, where we are working on Brand Identity design that involves the use of logo and colour palette extensively in print and digital media. This will help keep one master file for an extensive brand identity work and makes it easy to compare between CMYK and RGB colours/designs.

Illustrator can not save with Apple SMB and show column preview on
Hi
On Mac, Illustrator can not save with Apple SMB and "show column preview" turned on.File says "Illustrator is unable to save this document... due to some unexpected errors"
Illustrator and photoshop, please change your code to work on Apple SMB. Apple confirmed they will not change their code to fix Adobe cross platform app issues saving.

A polygon option for a Pen Tool
Recently I've noticed that I'm missing one option – switching off the Bezier anchors by the pen tool. I would like to draw a continuously (joined) straight line, without accidentally changing it into a bezier curve. While drawing fast with a Wacom pen or with a mouse, it's easy to move the cursor before jumping to the next place and thereby, by accident pull the Bezier handle and proceeding a curve. I use Affinity Designer on iPad and there exists an option for the pen tool – a polygon. I'm looking for something similar that in Illustrator.

Integrate with AEM to enable linking assets without having to work with them locally
By using Adobe Experience Manager as a DAM and having to work locally with links in Illustrator the user experience is awful. We need to download the folder from the DAM and then work on the file and links knowing that the next person to work on that will need to to the same, it's very time consuming for our team

Retention of fillable form areas when editing and saving an existing PDF.
Illustrator used to retain fillable form areas when editing and saving an existing PDF. Pretty please. We need that feature back. It's wasting a lot of production time recreating the form fields. When you open and edit graphics in an existing PDF in Illustrator, the instant you save the file (not "Save As...", just "Save") all of the fillable fields are erased.
Since it's all Adobe, why can't they work seamlessly like they used to?2 votes -
Add Artboard option for Create Sub-Folders in Export for Screens, next to existing Scale and Format
When exporting something like logos, it might make sense to keep all formats exported from one artboard together in a sub-folder.
So if we make a primary logo, it can be put into a folder called 'Primary Logo', to have all the formats exported from an artboard. One design — multiple file formats. Currently that needs to be done manually. So an 'Artboard' sub-folder option would be nice.

One click flatten button, to Expand text and strokes for print/sharing
Hi everyone,
I'm a computer graphic design teacher at NABA. While teaching Adobe Illustrator, I’ve found it challenging to explain the concept of Expand Appearance and how to properly flatten text and lines for final output.It would be incredibly helpful to have a one-click solution that automatically handles proofing—expanding appearances, flattening both text and lines—and clearly indicates that the AI or PDF file is ready for print or delivery.

Illustrator to Mobile
Mobile - We need a way to be able to open ai.files (or different formats from illustrator) and edit them in a mobile app.
e.g.: Right now I will need to change the background of a design everyday. In Illustrator it's easy, all I need to do is change background color export and voila.
However, if I can't find a solution to edit the background layer (or rectangle on top of it) on mobile. . . Adobe draw doesn't allow me to open ai.files or edit layer by layer. Can't really find a solution.

Which profiles should be used when viewing pdfs?
Hi, today I had a problem like this:
I created a pdf from an illustrator file, it was a montage of many labels only in black.
Then visualizing them with acrobat pro with "fogra 27" was perfect, but my service used "fogra 39" and the black was split into CMYK.
Then, by ripping the pdf to make the plates, black was displayed only in black.
Which profiles should be used when viewing pdfs?

Allow user to set type font and size, and keep it until selecting a different font and size
I think it would be great if the program “remembered” which type font and size I was working with before in the same file, and keep it that way until I change it. It would also be great to be able to set the type and size across the program if desired, and have it be saved that way until I change it to a different font/size. Because right now, it always automatically goes to the default font and size, which is inconvenient, especially since the default size is 48 point, which is HUGE.

Bring in PDF's without changing the formatting
PDF's, sometimes, when brought in, NOT as an image, but embedded, changes font style widths, etc. This was another issue for me, with a client who built their file in ID and saved as a PDF and I brought it in and embedded it. I did not catch it, but it's clearly changed. I have the font, so that was not an issue, it just change the "BOLD" to "REGULAR". Picture attached shows the "original" PDF as a pic on the right. I have it at 50% opacity as I was comparing.

Move "Share on Behance" and "Save for Microsoft Office" and add Quick Export
I do a lot of "rapid fire" exporting as I work mostly on card games in Illustrator. So a small change on 50-75+ cards requires me to (File, Export, PNG, Use Art Board, Overwrite, PNG Options, Ok) 50-75 times. Most annoyingly in this process, is when my hand slips and I click on Share on Behance or Save for Microsoft Office when I'm trying to Export. I think these options should be moved to their own category under "File" because I've never exported straight to Behance (I always export then upload separately if at all) and Save for Microsoft Office…

Width tool feature
Hi
As you can see from the file the split in the lower right corner is much bigger than the rest. And I was told that that is because AI treats the starting point of an object different. This makes it difficult to make symmetrict shapes without a lot of extra work.
Therefor I was hoping this was something You could do something about in a future update
