1. Seamless pattern creation

   Once you have an illustration completed, you can double, triple, etc, the image you created as they automatically line up in columns once you decide to double (for a seamless pattern) the illustration, image, or 3D assets. Once you start to manually place the duplicated layer you pull the asset to one side of the art board. You want the pattern to have 1/4th of the image going off the art board. The 1/4th section that is going off of the art board (.let’s say on the right side for this example) automatically (almost magically) has the missing section hanging off the right popping out on the left side. Even hair sized movement on the right is accurately pushing out on the left. Once completed you should be left with a pattern that is seamless and a super quick way to create patters for print< physical, social media, or T-shirts.

2. Unify point tangent, angle\length\direction

   Short rationales:
   Point Angle - I need a way to control the exact angle of point handles to unify them across a design. Currently the only way to control the angle is to constrain it to vertical, horizontal, or 45 degree angles.

   Point Handle Length\Direction - If you grab a point handle and make it a different length or direction than the handle on the other side of a point, there is currently no way to re-unify them besides re-drawing the curve.
   There is also no also no way to scale handle length along the direction or angle you’ve already set.

   More information:
   Point Angle - There is currently no way to control the exact rotation of a point, so if for example, I need one point at 29 degrees and another at 82 degrees, there’s no way to specify this. Also, if I have a series of points across a design and I want all of the tangent angles to match, there’s no way to do it. This is especially troublesome when drawing type. Very often you want points at 0 degrees, 90 degrees and then an italic angle across all of the letters. The closest you can currently come to specifying that is creating a series of guidelines, but that can become very cumbersome and they don’t often aline with the exact point coordinates.

   Point Handle Length\Direction - Every single design that I use the pen tool on, I come across a situation where I either uncouple point handle directions, or lengths. If I want to get the perfect angle and direction set on one side and then want to match it on the other, I can’t. I have to use the Anchor Point Tool to redraw the curve, which causes the line to reset. This is also an issue when drawing things like type. If you use, for example, the Direct Selection Tool, and drag a handle out to create a shape, there’s no way to then drag the other handle out on the same line, or to unify it’s corresponding handle’s length.

4. Eye dropper tool matches colour to a Colour Book set of swatches

   As a fashion designer, I always (have to!) work with colour books like Pantone etc. and it is extremely tedious when I use the eye dropper, or open up a default swatch, to then have to open the recolour artwork dialogue box and convert the colours into Pantones.

   It would be so much easier, if we could set in preferences a colour library book as the default set of Swatches that illustrator works from, so that when I use the eye dropper, it will select the 'closest matching' pantone swatch and I do not have to go through the process of converting the colours every time.

   (which honestly drives me bonkers!).

5. Can you please add the text recognition (OCR) feature from Acrobat DC Into Illustrator

   Can you please add the text recognition (OCR) feature from Acrobat DC Into Illustrator, I have been producing Emergency Evacuation Diagrams using Illustrator for 10 years, I get supplied with scans and non editable PDF files that I have to recreate. The ability for Illustrator to recognise text would be a huge time saver and I know a lot of other people would also benefit from this function. It is available in Acrobat DC but getting the text from Acrobat into Illustrator is not easy. There is a third party organisation that offers this service but it is very expensive, I don't know whether Adboe has some kind of arrangement with this company but realistically this should be a feature available to paid Creative Cloud subscribers and should be easy to add to Illustrator considering you already offer it in Acrobat DC. 6. @2x Retina pixel preview needed

   Designing for high resolution displays is still cumbersome in Illustrator as there is no pixel-preview for retina displays. Please add an option to preview artwork as it displays on high resolution monitors.

8. REMOVE THE FRUSTRATING LIGHT BULB "LEARN" FEATURE BEFORE I CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION!

   I would curse here normally but I am trying to refrain, I have taken 10 minutes from my day today to see if this irritating feature that I have never used and even as a newcomer would never use either can be disabled as it infuriates me.

   User experience research was not undertaken with this feature clearly as many of the community have voiced their frustrations with this exact feature.

   REMOVE IT PLEASE, else I will look at cancelling the subscription just due to this, that's how irritating this pointless feature is, and this is not the first time Adobe has shoehorned something into the expensive toolset that has been a hindrance to us being more productive, instead it's doing the exact opposite.

9. Colors: bring existing color to front

   I ran into this so many times: I want to change an element with a colored fill, go to the color palette hit the new color and boom: I have an outline because I forgot to switch to fill. So I need to delete that outline, swap from outline to fill color and do what I initially wanted: Change the fill color. WHY does Illustrator not automatically bring the color to front that already exists on an element? If an element only has a fill, bring the fill to front upon selction. If an element only has an outline bring the outline to the front. So you can easily and fast apply a change. (And one can still swap to apply an additional element).

10. Global Edit in Isolation mode

    Global edit is very powerful but not a fully realized feature.
    Many things are missing from it (like this one: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-feature-requests/suggestions/35768314-create-symbols-from-global-edit)

    Another one is that the Global Edit button is completely missing when you are in isolation mode. So instead of entering a group and editing similar objects only in this particular group, we are forced to lock similar objects manually (because GE won’t allow to do it), EXIT the isolation mode, start GE and edit found similar-s with everything else NOT isolated (which obstructs editing).

    Let me provide a practical example I am working on. I have several similar staircases. One of them, while being generally the same, has a different step height. I want to isolate this particular staircase (to not interfere with another art in the same layer) and edit only this object’s steps. But Ai forces me to A) lock other staircases, B) lock underlying art. This is very limiting.

    BTW, if you have found all you similar-s and want to lock all other objects, except these that you found, — what would you do? Select > Inverse >Lock Selected? Nope, it won’t work, Inverse don’t treat found as selected. Not sure it must, but I can’t see a fast way anyway.

    Global edit is very powerful but not a fully realized feature.

11. Change behavior of scrolling out of bounds or overlapping panels

    When dragging an element to the page or screen edge, the scrolling rate goes from 10px/second to 1000 and you spend most of your time trying to figure out how to go back far enough but not too far. If you go too far, you scroll 1000px in the other direction. All while you are holding a bunch of important elements that you don't want to release. It's unnerving and makes no sense. Make the scroll rate consistent even when scrolling out of bounds. Either that or don't let us scroll further our of bounds than the width or height of whatever we are dragging + a little buffer. I have never wanted to scroll to -100000px but it seems like if I try to nudge the edge, I end up there every time.

    Also, if I drag an element and some panel is in the way, hide the panel until I am done. If I am dragging something and approach a panel, don't just drop what I am dragging without making any changes. That doesn't help anyone. Let me drop my elements wherever I want, panels take lower priority than what the user wants.

12. Make Numpad targetable for shortcuts (not the same as above letters normal numbers)

    Let we assign different shortcuts for the numpad than the normal numbers. I tried to assign and some doesn't work even when they don't conflict with other shortcuts.

13. Export Selected Artboards

    Instead of having to note all the artboard ID numbers, it would be nice to select the artboards needed (with Artboard Tool on canvas or in panel) then Export Selected for Screens, or Export As, to have these selected arboards automatically chosen.

14. Curve length, area, perimeter measurements for Dimension tool

    We need a way to measure the length of a line regardless of shape, but at minimum we need a way to measure a basic curved line. It would be especially helpful if we could use the measure tool or some time-saving variant to tell if a curve has the desired length. While we can do a workaround now using the Document Info panel, having to isolate lines in order to do so can get really cumbersome and tedious.

15. Allow to set a color for a gradient stop using Color Picker

    Picking colors or changing colors in Illustrator has always been a pain compared to Photoshop and I'm not sure why. When I want to choose a color for a gradient or in the color panel in general, why can I not open the color picker and move the slider around on the big square to actively change colors and see the colors change in real time? This frustration often makes me want to switch from using Adobe products.

16. 「ビューを回転」で0°にスナップして欲しい

    カンバスビューを回転出来るようになりましたが、リセットの操作をしなくても、回転させているときに0°に近くなったら0°にスナップする機能が欲しいです。
    今は+-5°くらいでスナップしますが、このスナップはあまり必要ありません。

17. Effect units bound to global units.

    I am working with "mm" most of the time. However, when I use effects, I have to guess the right amount, since those are in "pixel" most of the time.
    As an example, feather or blur, and many more.

    It would be nice if the units would change with the units used in the file.

19. Airbrush features

    It would really open up Illustrator to a brand new superior level for not just technical illustrator artists, but other artists that would like to see their drawings in a vectorize art form where they could really explore blending and shadings, instead of just typically relying on pixalated, or rasterized form to perfect their drawings. I fully believed in the potential power of vectorizes art being taking it to another level for artists that can draw freely with their hands. Illustrator’s appeal to hobbyists, Graffiti artist, Caricaturists, and other individual form of artist that specializes in different genres have been waiting for Adobe Illustrator to finally recognize and acknowledge their not-so technical skills and let them discover what they do with these superior app.

20. Guide lines colored to their corresponding layer

    As someone who uses several guidelines on a project, one thing that I have found would be extremely helpful would be if the guide lines were colored to their corresponding layer. (This could be a toggleable option)

    This could be particularly helpful when there are a lot of guidelines on the artboard since there is an inverse relationship between the number of guidelines and the readability of said guidelines. The more guidelines there are, the harder it can be to keep track of which guideline(s) corresponds to which element(s).

    Personally, and fortunately, I am not colorblind, however, I imagine that different colored guidelines could aid, those who have some form of colorblindness, in easily distinguishing between the guidelines.
