Copy and paste doesn't always work
Hi,
I've been experiencing problems with Illustrator. When I copy an object with the ctrl + c button and try to paste them it randomly doesn't work.
The problem is that I can't replicate it on command. At first I thought it had something to do with the laptop that I used, but it also happens on a freshly installed desktop.
My version of Illustrator is 22.0.1
I also checked the copy paste functions under the edit tab, and when I copied something it didn't show the ability to paste it. It could also only have something to do with…

Can't drag a color swatch onto a gradient color stop
macOS High Sierra, then Mojave 10.14.3
iMac 2017
Processor 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 24 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
Graphics Radeon Pro 570 4096 MBI used to be able to drag a color swatch onto the color stops on the gradient slider, replacing the existing colors on the slider. Now, in Illustrator 2019, the vast majority of the time it only adds the color swatch as an additional stop instead of replacing it. Tilde shows up in text box
Illustrator CC 23.0.3 Precision 5820 Tower,Intel Xeon W2102
16 GB RAM, 64 bit, Win 10 ProWorking with any text box, the tilde character shows up at insertion point. Even if no typing is happening.

Can't open .dwg files all of a sudden
Ai CC 2019 - Can no longer open dwg files - the error is "unknown file format" the old work around used to be to save the .dwg & all xref's to a 2010 version and it would open. Super frustrating as this has occurred in the middle of a project. How to get the dwg's compatible again?

Expand Appearance is greyed out in 2019 compare to CC2018, same doc, same selection, it is enabled.
I have a document which, when I select certain objects in CC 2019 - Expand Appearance isn't available and Expand, when used, doesn't give the expected result. Exact same document, exact same selection in CC 2018 and Expand Appearance is available, and when clicked, works perfectly and as expected.
FYI - the selection has a number of Transform effects applied to it.5 voteswe will need someone to have a look at the file to determine the issue.

Minus Front - Incomplete Shapes
This is an odd issue that is kind of hard to explain. Whenever I am using the minus front tool on some objects, the appearance doesn't end up quite right. For example, I subtracted these outlined text characters from a black background. The blue outlines show that they were subtracted correctly, but the white background showing through is cut off in the wrong spots?

lastest update crashes CONSTANTLY
Just updated to version 23.0 via CC panel and Illustrator won't run more than 2 minutes at a time without crashing. I can't keep it open long enough to determine if there's a specific trend or problem. Selecting any tool from any palette, or trying to move an object on the art board, or while typing... just locks up no matter what I do. VERY FRUSTRATING.
For what it's worth, I'm on Windows 10 with 32 gb of RAM running 64 bit version of Illustrator. Never crashed before the update.

Save error with embedded PDF (Unknown error occurred)
Just updated CC to latest version on my MacBookPro 2017, and now I am unable to save a ill document which contains an embedded PDF inside. PDF was created from a scan on a Xerox WorkCentre 7855.
PS: Why can't I copy content from file info in file Properties? That is just dumb!

Lock/unlock width and height while scaling
If I have a rectangle for example and I unlock the width and height so that I can change the values separately, If I change the width or height (size) the object transforms proportionally.
Example:
Object 500 H x 500 W px (locked):
If I change H -50px I get 450 H x 450 W px.Problem
Object 500 H x 500 W px (Unlocked):
If I change H -50px I expected to get 450 H x 500 W px.

Unable to select text once it's been horizontally scaled. (condensed)
Illustrator CC 23.0.2 (mojave Mac Pro)
If I horizontally scale a text element on the artboard I'm then unable to select it with any of the arrow selection tools. Elements aren't locked or masked.

Could not read file because the plug in did not understand this file
Hi,
Illustrator was working fine, suddenly crashed and now says: 'Could not read the file because the plugin did not understand this file' everytime I try to launch.
I had alot of vectors on the document and several artboards and copies of work, some complex shapes and masks ect. Some of the some of the shapes which were masks in groups were clipping images, some of these clipping mask groups had been copied across documents and had missing links, which may be part of the problem.

Unoperational
I'm trying to use Illustrator CC and nothing in the program is responding, everything is greyed out. There is no indication from the program that anything is wrong with it. I have downloaded the latest update and this is the first time I have had such an issue with the program.

Info palette moves to monitor Measure Tool is used
The Info palette instantly jumps to the monitor that you use the Measure Tool on. If it's connected to all the other palettes on a secondary monitor, all of them instantly jump to the monitor where you are using the Measure Tool.
Like most people, I have my palettes on a secondary monitor and my main monitor has my document. So every single time I use the Measure Tool, my palettes jump over to the main monitor.
Please fix this so the Info palette stays where I put it when using the Measure Tool.

Artboards name disappear after renaming
After renaming an artboard in the panel, it will return to it's default name eg. , Artboard [x], instead of maintaining the new name.

Color Gray printing as brown when saving from Illustrator CC v23.0.2 to CS4
MacOS Mojave v10.14.4 & Illustrator CC v23.0.2
When saving a file from Illustrator CC v23.0.2 to CS4 the gray colors print as brown but if I save the file as the current Illustrator CC v23.0.2 it prints as gray as it should. It is a CMYK document with only K values. Discovered this from printing an older document created 08/2019 then printing the new document. Illustrator underperforming on Mojave
Since updating to Mojave, Illustrator is sluggish at best. Moving a page activates the spinning wheel every time before moving the page. Almost unusable for work.
I am using the latest version of CS suite, Illustrator and Mojave.

Freeform gradient becomes uneditable
Once applied, a freeform gradient is no longer editable. Ex. If I apply to a circle, and click off to work on something else, then come back to the circle, I can't edit it again. The circles don't appear, and I am hitting "Edit Gradient". Maybe Windows bug? When I watch tutorials on this, only need to select object and open freeform gradient tool to be able to edit gradients again.
