This issue is fixed in macOS 12.3.1 update from Apple.
This issue is not new and occurs for a few years at least.
I i apply at a pattern brush > Colorization > Method: Hue Shift, the key color does not represent the same color of the choosen stroke color when the brush is applied to a Stroke. The color is always way off. I am well experienced in Illustrator (and certifeid by Adobe) but i can not find any thing i did wrong. That's why i am almost sure this issue is a bug. But please, tell me i am doing something wrong. That way i can help my customers.

The solution provided in the comments below.
However, when the key color is automatically gets set as the white (or any grayscale tint) as the most prominent color, the hue shift gets calculated wrong.
If you think Illustrator should pick another color in cases like this — please continue voting.

Adobe Illustrator 26.4
I tried reverting to older versions of Adobe Illustrator, but the issue exists for them as well; To me, that suggests the problem is related to the beta macOS. I am raising this bug now because the issue could present itself as users upgrade to macOS Ventura this fall.
I am running MacOS, Ventura, Version 13.0 Beta (22A5311f) on iMac M1 (2021) with 8MB RAM.5 votesResolved (Comments Open) · AdminRama (Mgr, Software Quality Engineering, Adobe Illustrator) responded
This issues is fixed in macOS 13 Beta 5
When spreading text over more than one text box, the first one is fine, but any consecutive one deforms so the copy is stretched.1 vote
The problem was probably caused by scaling area type objects with another art selected. Illustrator treats these selections differently. Take a look in the comments for a more detailed explanation and demonstration.
「- 2022 -」と入力したあと、修正しようとしたら、最初の「- 」が選択出来ません。1 vote
Illustrator converts a hyphen at the start of the line to a bulleted list, unless the 'Automatic Bulleted and Numbered lists while typing' option (enabled by default) is not turned off.
These converted markers can’t be selected, unless you convert the text back with the dedicated button in the Paragraph menu.
But be warned though, that sometimes disabling the auto-conversion does not work, and hyphen and other characters still force Illustrator to create a list.

coy and pasting text turns random parts of it to outlines. if you option drag the text, it works fine, keeps all the text in tact. this happens even in the same document, other documents.
makes working pretty much impossible between documents and just a pain in the same document.1 vote
Some applications for managing buffer can not handle the vector data stored by Illustrator and force it to fall back to outlines and rasterized copies.
This time it was Launchpad app, quitting it solved the problem.
My one system is on Mojave (10.14.6) running 25.4.8 illustrator. The other system is on Monterey (12.3.1) running 26.5 illustrator. And I have downloaded and installed Petrona font from Google fonts on both the systems.
Now when I try to open the file (that was created on Mojave) on Monterey I'm prompted for missing fonts! This compatibility issue is making it very difficult for me to work across my devices.1 vote
As it turned out, the font was installed as a static weights collection on one system, and as a variable one on the other. Illustrator didn’t provide enough clarification on this.
However, please vote and comment if you have the same problem.
Mac. OS 12.6. Illustrator 27.0. MacBook Pro 13 inch, M1 chip + external monitor.
Tried changing color with slider, but the slider hides, doesn't display numbers.

Got fixed with the relaunch.

I am trying to change from uppercase to lowercase. Using 26.5.1 (64-bit) version. I wish I had not upgraded as it crashes every few minutes. Steps: highlight text; Type-->Change case-->lowercase. (In the attached video the Type drop down does not appear in the recording; follow the mouse.1 vote
Toni, for some reason you have All Caps option enabled in the Character panel for this particular text selection (or rather the whole type on path object).
Once disabled, Ai stops to force the capitalization for it, and the result of Change Case commands start to be visible.
I agree though it can be tough to discover.

I saved an illustrator file then closed the program. After some days, I reopened the program. I could see the preview thumbnail showing my latest edit but when I clicked on it to open, it went back to a much earlier version of the file. This has now happened twice. Please help if you have solved this successfully.

It turns out the folder is managed by Google Drive, and it restored a previous version for some reason.
If you had problems like this too — please comment.
This can be toggled in the Appearance panel’s menu with the 'New Art Has Basic Appearance' option.

I have been working in a new file I created, and I am unable to save the file. I have tried exporting, and quitting such that illustrator asks if I want to save. Nothing happens. I am stuck here, as I will otherwise loose the work I have done. Any suggestions???3 votes
The problem got solved by resaving the original document and no longer can be reproduced.

For opacity masks, 100% White should represent a 100% absence of masking and 100% Black should represent 100% masking (like in Photoshop).
The current system in Illustrator seems very unintuitive and flawed – a basic white to black gradient does not even totally obscure an image/object at one end of the gradient.
It shouldn't be the case that you then have further reduce the opacity of the gradient colours to achieve a standard gradient effect.6 votes
Make sure you use RGB black instead of Grayscale black in your gradients when making opacity mask in a RGB-based document to avoid shallow blacks and not fading to a complete zero.
More on that in the comments.

I'm trying to export some vector files from AI, which I've done countless times before and had no problems...
Right now when I save the file as AI and EPS, it shows up in my saved folder as a blank file. When I open the properties from it's saved folder it still shows as AI, however I'm not able to open it with AI or any other applications.
I'm stumped and don't know what I can do next.1 vote
I'm on a brand new MacBook Pro and I'm using illustrator from the cloud version 26.0.2 on Mac Monterey v 12.1. Every time I close out a file and reopen it the hex colors are changed. I have never touched the setting on my colors. I've attached an example below. You can see that when I was previously working in the file I listed the hex code, but now when I open it it is different. Please help. This is making my branding impossible and I'm turning in projects incorrectly as a result.2 votes
I have a handful of scripts that have stopped working after switching from an Intel Mac mini to an M1 Mac mini. The scripts will run as expected if I use the Intel version of Illustrator on the M1 Mac mini, but they return this error when run using the M1 version of Illustrator on the same machine "TARGET COULD NOT BE LAUNCHED(59)". The current culprit seems to be BridgeTalk. Any help would be appreciated, thx!13 votes
The workaround for this is to update to the latest build, 25.3.1, which doesn't contain Bridge related changes for Mac ARM — that's why this error is happening.
If you still have the issue, please comment back.
I am using Illustrator 2020 on a Windows 10 computer.
We import CAD files in DXF format to create AI files for our graphics department to use. We are successful when importing ACAD2000 DXF files, but have problems with more recent versions. Elements drop off when importing ACAD2004, 2007, 2010 DXF files. When trying to import ACAD2013 and 2018 CAD files I get the message "Unknown Format and Cannot Be Opened".20 votes
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 26.x which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

If this happens for you, make sure you have the same color settings setup in both versions (Edit > Color Settings).

When selecting an object, like a rectangle, the horizontal and vertical measurements in the tool bar are swapped. They appear correctly in the Transform window.
For example, a horizontal rectangle could be 7pt x 5pt, but when selected in the tool bar it shows 5 in the <--> dialog box and 7 in the vertical box.
I have restarted my computer and restarted illustrator.

As per the comment:
Illustrator allows to access dimensions of an object as well as dimensions of a live shape. In case when a shape is rotated by 90° the shape’s size values can look swapped compared to measured sizes. It’s like tilting a head. See attached images inside for clarifications.
