  1. Object appearance defaults when selecting new colors (white fill, black stroke)

    When selecting a new color swatch value from the menu (see image) often times when the document has first been opened or an object has not been selected during this session, any selected objects revert to the default appearance - 1 pt outline, black stroke, white fill - regardless of what they were before. Then you have to undo what happened and try again to apply your changes. It's a minor inconvenience, but it only showed up in the last 3 updates. A clean install doesn't fix this issue.   2. Suffix still gets added when an image is exported even though the option to add it is disabled

    While exporting a AI file to, for example JPG, the checkbox for automatic file extension (suffix) is unchecked. When I export it, the filename gets a extension (suffix) '-01' behind it. When I export, check the box, and uncheck it, the file saves without the extension (suffix), like it should. So every time I have to check and uncheck the option before exporting. Very annoying. Never had this issue before.

    Newest updated installed 29.6.1 on Windows 10 Pro.

    Anyone else has the same issue?

  3. Save/Export Dialog Fails on macOS 26 Beta — System UI Freezes After Error

    Operating System:
    macOS 26 Beta (Tahoe), latest developer beta as of July 2025
    Mac model: MacBook Pro M2 (2022)

    Adobe Illustrator Version:
    Latest available via Creative Cloud as of July 3, 2025 (v28.x.x)

    Steps to Reproduce the Issue:

    Open Adobe Illustrator.

    Create or open any file.

    Go to File > Save As or File > Export.

    The system attempts to open the save dialog but fails.

    The following error appears:
    “The save file operation failed. The save file operation failed to connect to the open and save panel service.”

    After that, core macOS interface components freeze, including:

    Finder

  4. PDF/X-4で書き出す際にダウンサンプルされる

    macOS14.7.2/Imac27inch i5/32GB mem/1TB ssd
    Illustrator ver29.5

    再現手順
    1.800ppiのモノクロ2開帳の画像をドキュメントに原寸で配置する。
    2.ファイル→コピーを保存を実行、PDF形式を選択し次のダイアログでプリセット「PDF/X-4:2008（日本）」を選択して保存する。
    3.PDFを開いて配置した画像を調べると300ppiにダウンサンプルされている。

    期待する結果
    800ppiのままダウンサンプルされずに保存される。

    実際の結果
    配置したビットマップ画像は300ppiにダウンサンプルされる。

    このプリセットでは実行解像度が1800ppiを超えた際に1200ppiにダウンサンプルされるように設定されている。配置状態で800ppiの画像はダウンサンプルの条件に当てはまらない為ダウンサンプルされてはいけない。
    また、300ppiという数値はモノクロビットマップ画像を取り扱うには致命的に低い解像度と言える。

    回避方法
    ビルトインのPDF/X-4プリセットは利用せず、同等のプリセットを自身で作成して利用する。その他、プリプレス関連メーカーが配布するPDF/X-4プリセットを利用しても良い。

    1. Place an 800ppi monochrome bitmap image in the document in its original size.
    2. Select File→Save a copy, choose PDF format, and in the next dialog, select the preset "PDF/X-4:2008 (日本)" and save the file.
    3. Open the PDF file in Acrobat and check the placed image to find that it has been downsampled to 300ppi.

    Expected result
    The image is saved without being downsampled to 800ppi.

  5. Gray popup about Unpropping appears again and again

    A grey popup appears constantly whenever I am ungrouping things to tell me about ungrouping.
    Nothing in Preferences makes this go away and I see it repeatedly so closing it once doesn't work either. I really don't need training wheels and this should be one simple option to disable all large tooltips, blue popups and gray popups. There are already enough idiosyncrasies and distractions with Illustrator.

    After the update, this message now appears, saying that my files were created in a different version. But it should be backwards compatible.

  7. CEPHtmlEngine keeps macOS awake

    CEPHtmlEngine erroneously keeps macOS awake by setting PreventUserIdleSystemSleep

    See details below, CEPHtmlEngine is unnecessarily keeping macOS awake using the power management API and asserting PreventUserIdleSystemSleep, on this device it has been asserting and renewing its assertion for 170 hours.

    This presents a massive physical security risk to enterprise customers as it defeats IT controlled sleep/screensaver/walkaway preferences to lock the computer.

  8. HEX Franklin Variable Font is Not Visible when Editing

    I am on a Mac running Illustrator 29.4. I am trying to use the variable OTF version of HEX Franklin, and all Adobe apps do not render the letterforms. When I try to select the variable font in the dropdown, it just defaults back to Myriad or the default typeface.

    Other variable fonts work as intended, but specifically, this one is broken. Any possible fix?

  10. Bitmap (1-Bit) Image downsampled to 300 dpi in PDF Export - スリープさせるとレインボーカーソル化

    MacBookPro OS 13.6.4
    Illustrator 29.3.1

    Illustratorを起動したまま、画面を（物理的に）閉じると、次画面を開いた時にIllustratorがレインボーカーソルのまま動かなくなります。毎回強制終了して再度起動しています。
    ブラウザなどの他のアプリケーションはレインボーカーソル化しません。

    Illustratorを28にしていた頃は起こらなかったです。

  11. We request that function key conversion be re-enabled for Japanese input.

    Due to the latest update release, the conversion shortcuts using function keys during Japanese input have become unavailable. Please restore them so they can be used again.

    Conversion shortcut details:
    F6 → Hiragana
    F7 → Katakana
    F8 → Half-width Roman characters
    F9 → Full-width Roman characters

    In Japan, conversion shortcuts using function keys are commonly used.
    Previously, I could use those keys for Japanese input conversion without having to delete the corresponding Illustrator shortcut settings. However, in the latest version, even deleting the settings doesn't work, which is inconvenient.

  12. 異体字を指定したグリフに対してSVGフィルタを適用するとデフォルトのグリフにフォールバックする

    再現手順
    1. ポイントテキストをドキュメント上に作成し「ABCD」と入力し、各グリフを異体字（添付のサンプルではu+0041 nalt5等を指定）に変更する。
    2.作成したテキストに任意のSVGフィルタを適用する。
    3.異体字を指定したグリフがデフォルトのグリフにフォールバックした状態でレンダリングされる。

    期待する結果
    指定した異体字のままSVGフィルタが適用される。

    実際の結果
    異体字はデフォルトのグリフに変更された状態でレンダリングされる。

  13. 中韓フォントの文字組みを変更してもアキが変わらない

    フォント「思源黑體 TW」の文字組みを「なし」や「行末約物半角」などに変更しても、アキ量が変化しない現象がありました。
    上記現象が発生したバージョンは下記の通りです。

    OS：Windows 10 Pro
    Illustrator CC：V 29.1、V 29.2、V 29.3.1（V 29.2.1、V 29.3は調べてません）
    なお、V 29.0、V 28.7.3 は当該現象は発生していません。

    問題発生時の手順：

    ・スクリプトを使いCSVデータを読み込んで文字情報を取得、文字をイラストに書き込む
    ・文字入力後、フォント「思源黑體 TW」へ変更
    上記どちらでも問題が発生します。

    想定していた結果：
    添付をご参照ください。
    　V29.0文字組み「なし」.png
    　V29.0    文字組み「行末約物半角」.png

    実際の結果：
    添付をご参照ください。
    　V29.1文字組み「行末約物半角」.png
    　V29.1    文字組み「なし」.png
    この２つの全角、半角のアキが同じ（変化がない）となっております。
    （どれを選んでも「なし」と同じ状態です）

    他のフォント（下記）で試してみましたが、アキ量の変化は確認できました。

    ・源ノ角ゴシック JP
    ・A-OTF UD新ゴ Pr6N L
    ・メイリオ
    ・游ゴシック

    Illustratorフォーラムにも投稿し他の方にもご検証いただいたところ、日本語以外（繁体字、簡体字、ハングル）のフォントで同様の現象が起きているようです。
    また、InDesign20.1(2025)でも同様の現象が起きているようです。

  14. フォントの検索と置換パネルで表示用に埋め込まれたフォントをアクティベート出来ない

    再現手順
    1.新規ドキュメントを開き任意のテキストを入力しフォント（AdobeFontsより導入したもの）を指定する。
    2.「ファイルプレビュー用に許可されたフォントを埋め込む」チェックボックスをONにして保存して閉じる。
    3.指定したフォントをアンインストールする。
    4.先のドキュメントをIllustratorで開く。
    5.最初に表示される「環境に無いフォント」のパネルを閉じる。
    6.メニュー「書式→フォントの検索と置換...」を選択肢「フォントの検索と置換」パネルを開く。
    7.表示用に埋め込まれたフォントは追加のチェックボックスがグレーアウトしてチェックできない。

    期待する結果
    表示用に埋め込まれたフォントであってもフォントの検索と置換パネル上でAdobeFontsからアクティベートできる。

    実際の結果
    表示用に埋め込まれたフォントが検索と置換パネル上でAdobeFontsからアクティベートできない。

    ※表示用に埋め込まれたフォントであるということを明示的に表示するべきかもしれません。

    1.新規ドキュメントを開き任意のテキストを入力し適当な単語を入力し一部のキャラクタを選択して異体字に変更する（異体字を含むフォントを指定すること）。
    2.「ファイルプレビュー用に許可されたフォントを埋め込む」チェックボックスをONにして保存して閉じる。
    3.指定したフォントをアンインストールする。
    4.先のドキュメントをIllustratorで開く。
    5.異体字が指定されたキャラクタが「notdef」グリフで表示される。

    期待する結果
    埋め込まれたフォントを利用してオリジナルの体裁が表示される。

    実際の結果
    異体字を指定した部分がnotdef（U+0000）にフォールバックする。

  16. Template Layers Still Visible on Export for PNG and JPG

    I am creating a logo package for a client and am attempting to export multiple logos / graphics with transparent backgrounds using the export panel. I've already confirmed multiple times that my PNG settings include transparency and that the View > Overprint Preview setting is unchecked. My background layer is set to non printing, however any PDF or PNG I export includes a visible background layer. I can completely hide this layer to avoid exporting it, but then I can't see my artwork correctly. The whole point of non printing layers is to see them when you are designing without…

  17. 画像トレースのパスが粗すぎる

    手書きの線画を画像トレースで取り込む時、パスが粗すぎて手書きのニュアンスが消えてしまいます。
    以前のバージョンまでは、細かくトレースされていました。
    イラスト制作が主な仕事なのですが、仕事に使用する上で致命的な欠点です。
    仕方がないので、まだ以前のバージョンを使用しています。
    早急に改善をお願いいたします。

  18. Missing fonts warning when no fonts are missing

    Every time I open any illustrator document, the missing fonts box shows up telling me all of the fonts are missing, but when I click replace fonts, they don't show as missing any more and there's no issue. This is a really annoying bug.

    Since MacOs Sequoia upgrade, Illustrator randomly recording / monitoring screen despite disabled in Privacy settings. Sequoia bug, AI bug, or Sequoia revealing this was happening all along. Could just be the color picker, could not. Doesnt happen reliably with color picker use. Only happens in Illustrator and only since the Sequoia upgrade. Something isnt working right between the OS and app.
    If screen monitoring is turned off, Illustrator should not be able to monitor.

    Illustrator uses Apple screenshot API to pick colors outside the Illustrator window with Eyedropper tool. Apple has enhanced security in the recent OS updates to let user know which applications are recording the screen, whether you pick a color value of single pixel or recording the entire screen.

    Illustrator is not recording users's screen, it is required for Eyedropper tool to pick color from single pixel.
